基于真实情境开展化学学科核心素养为本的教学案例

从《普通高中化学课程标准（2017年版）》的教学标准和考试大纲化学部分的考查标准出发,探讨素养为本的教学和学业评价中真实情境对教、学、考有机衔接的促进作用。通过基于真实情境的不同类型的主题教学实践案例,阐述认知台阶搭建、主题研究任务开发、教材内容整合、情境化单元课程建设与社会生活、生产实践、科技研究、实验探究的有效链接,为学生创设驱动性任务,在实际问题解决过程中构建联系性、发展性的知识框架和认知模型的教学设计策略,呈现素养为本的教学案例。     

应用型本科院校物理化学考核模式的构建与实践

针对应用型本科院校现有的物理化学课程考核模式存在的问题,采取过程化考核和终结性考核相结合的方式,构建了新的物理化学考核模式,并在教学中进行了实践。实践表明:通过考核模式改革,化学专业学生物理化学成绩相对其他不同专业或相同专业不同年级的学生而言,物理化学课程成绩产生了显著性差异,且明显提高;激发了学生的学习兴趣,调动了学生学习的积极性、主动性,提升了学生专业素养。     

Ratio-based RTS determination in weight-restricted DEA models

This paper provides computationally efficient approaches for determining to which returns to scale (RTS) class a unit belongs in weight-restricted Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) models. A non-traditional computational algorithm is introduced. The suggested approach is based on the calculation of certain ratios within the data set and offers obvious computational advantages over the traditional approaches involving the solution of standard DEA models. Some theorems and algorithms are given. Computational advantages of the provided results are discussed and one of the algorithms is illustrated using real world data.     

A Comparison of TIMSS Items Using Cognitive Domains

The results of international assessments such as the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) are often reported as rankings of nations. Focusing solely on national rank can result in invalid inferences about the relative quality of educational systems that can, in turn, lead to negative consequences for teachers and students. This study seeks an alternative data analysis method that allows for improved inferences about international performance on the TIMSS. In this study, four classroom teachers categorized a sample of TIMSS items by the cognitive domains of knowing and applying using the definitions provided by the TIMSS 2011 Assessment Frameworks. Items of different cognitive domains were analyzed separately. This disaggregation allowed for more valid inferences to be made about student performance. Results showed almost no significant difference between the performance of U.S. students and the students of five other nations. Additionally, no differences were observed in U.S. students' performance on knowing items and applying items, although students from some sample nations performed significantly better on knowing items. These results suggest that policy makers, educators, and citizens should be cautious when interpreting the results of TIMSS rank tables.     

Examination of the 8th grade students' TIMSS mathematics success in terms of different variables1

The aim of this study is to determine how the TIMSS mathematics success of the 8th grade students differentiates according to the school type, gender, mathematics report mark, parents' education level, cognitive domains and cognitive domains by gender. Relational survey method was used in the study. Six-hundred fifty two 8th grade students studying in the same city in Turkey participated in this study. In this study, a 45 question test that was made up by choosing TIMSS 2011 mathematics questionnaire was used as a data collection tool. Quantitative data analysis methods were used in the data analysis, frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, independent sample test, one-way analysis of variance and post-hoc tests were applied to data by using SPSS packaged software. At the end of the study, it was determined that the school type, mathematics school mark, parents' education level and cognitive domains influenced the students' TIMSS mathematics success but their gender was a neutral element. Moreover, it was seen that schools which are really successful in national exams are more successful in TIMSS exam; students whose mathematics school marks are 5 and whose parents graduated from university are more successful in TIMSS exams than others.
