Application of an Itô-based approximation method to random vibration of a pinching hysteretic system
In this paper, an extension of the Cumulant-Neglect closure scheme is utilized for the random vibration analysis of a single degree of freedom system with a general pinching hysteresis restoring force. The hysteresis element used in the system model can simulate commonly observed forms of stiffness, strength and pinching degradations. The second order statistics of the system response to a stationary Gaussian white noise input are derived using an Itô-based approximation technique. The validity of these response statistics are then verified by comparing them to Monte Carlo simulation results. The numerical studies performed for different combinations of degradation parameters and excitation levels show that the response estimates obtained by this solution method are in good agreement with Monte Carlo simulation. These studies also indicate the applicability of this technique for response analysis of complicated forms of non-linearities. 相似文献

Regarding the importance of stability in small-scale plasma focus devices for producing the repeatable and strength pinching, a sensitivity analysis approach has been used for applicability in design parameters optimization of an actually very low energy device (84 nF, 48 nH, 8–9.5 kV, ~2.7–3.7 J). To optimize the devices functional specification, four different coaxial electrode configurations have been studied, scanning an argon gas pressure range from 0.6 to 1.5 mbar via the charging voltage variation study from 8.3 to 9.3 kV. The strength and efficient pinching was observed for the tapered anode configuration, over an expanded operating pressure range of 0.6 to 1.5 mbar. The analysis results showed that the most sensitive of the pinch voltage was associated with argon gas pressure and 8.3–8.5 kV charging voltage, respectively, as the optimum operating parameters. From the viewpoint of stability assessment of the device, it was observed that the least variation in stable operation of the device was for a charging voltage range of 8.3 to 8.7 kV in an operating pressure range from 0.6 to 1.1 mbar. 相似文献

The method of multiple scales is adopted to investigate the dynamic response of a nonlinear Vibration Absorber (VA) whose constitutive behavior is governed by hysteresis with pinching. The asymptotic analysis is first devoted to study the response of the absorber to harmonic excitations and to evaluate its sensitivity to the main constitutive parameters. The frequency response obtained in closed form allows to carry out the stability analysis together with a parametric study leading to behavior charts characterizing multi-valued softening/hardening responses or single-valued, quasi-linear responses. A two-degree-of-freedom model of a primary nonlinear structure endowed with the hysteretic vibration absorber is investigated to explore transfers of energy from the structure to the absorber resulting into optimal vibration amplitude reduction. The asymptotic solution is proved to be in good agreement with the numerical solution obtained via continuation. The asymptotic approach is embedded into a differential evolutionary algorithm to obtain a multi-parameter optimization procedure by which the optimal hysteresis parameters are found. 相似文献
