The aim of this paper is to describe some results concerning the geometry of Lorentzian manifolds admitting Killing spinors. We prove that there are imaginary Killing spinors on simply connected Lorentzian Einstein–Sasaki manifolds. In the Riemannian case, an odd-dimensional complete simply connected manifold (of dimension n≠7) is Einstein–Sasaki if and only if it admits a non-trivial Killing spinor to . The analogous result does not hold in the Lorentzian case. We give an example of a non-Einstein Lorentzian manifold admitting an imaginary Killing spinor. A Lorentzian manifold admitting a real Killing spinor is at least locally a codimension one warped product with a special warping function. The fiber of the warped product is either a Riemannian manifold with a real or imaginary Killing spinor or with a parallel spinor, or it again is a Lorentzian manifold with a real Killing spinor. Conversely, all warped products of that form admit real Killing spinors.  相似文献

We consider toy cosmological models in which a classical, homogeneous, spinor field provides a dominant or sub-dominant contribution to the energy-momentum tensor of a flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universe. We find that, if such a field were to exist, appropriate choices of the spinor self-interaction would generate a rich variety of behaviors, quite different from their widely studied scalar field counterparts. We first discuss solutions that incorporate a stage of cosmic inflation and estimate the primordial spectrum of density perturbations seeded during such a stage. Inflation driven by a spinor field turns out to be unappealing as it leads to a blue spectrum of perturbations and requires considerable fine-tuning of parameters. We next find that, for simple, quartic spinor self-interactions, non-singular cyclic cosmologies exist with reasonable parameter choices. These solutions might eventually be incorporated into a successful past- and future-eternal cosmological model free of singularities. In an Appendix, we discuss the classical treatment of spinors and argue that certain quantum systems might be approximated in terms of such fields.  相似文献

A nearly parallel G2-structure on a seven-dimensional Riemannian manifold is equivalent to a spin structure with a Killing spinor. We prove general results about the automorphism group of such structures and we construct new examples. We classify all nearly parallel G2-manifolds with large symmetry group and in particular all homogeneous nearly parallel G2-structures.  相似文献

把狄拉克方程分解成了两个单旋量的联立方程组.指出现行的自旋理论仅考虑了其中的一个方程,是以一个单旋量代替双旋量来描述状态而建立起来的.笔者在认同现行自旋理论可以作为狄拉克方程的一种求解方法,因而同意其中的某些提法外,对于其主要的物理观念:微观粒子存在着独立于现实的位形空间之外的一个自旋空间,在这个自旋空间内禀着角动量S和磁矩μ;这个自旋理论是相对论性量子力学导出的必然结论等等看法予以否定.笔者认为,只有同时考虑两个单旋量的方程,同时计及两个单旋量,才能准确地描述状态,从而正确地描述客观规律.  相似文献

We find out upper bounds for the first eigenvalue of the stability operator for compact constant mean curvature orientable surfaces immersed in a Riemannian Killing submersion. As a consequence, the strong stability of such surfaces is studied. We also characterize constant mean curvature Hopf tori as the only ones attaining the bound in certain cases.  相似文献

We provide a mixing model to explore the metastable state and the macroscopic quantum tunneling (MQT) of binary mixtures. For , we first observe the two condensates form the symmetry-breaking state (SBS) and then suddenly transfer to the symmetry-preserving state (SPS) through the MQT. The SBS is shown to be the metastable state in our system. We find the MQT does not spontaneously arise. The inducement mechanism is the damping but not the excitations. The damping mechanism can also control the lifetime and the tunneling decay rate of the SBS. Finally, we further present the origin of these phenomena by examining the energy of the system.  相似文献

Then there exists a subsequence of {M n } converging to the sphere of mean curvatureH tangent toP at. In the case of smallH-hypersurfaces orH 1, if we add a condition on the curvature of the boundary, there exists a subsequence of {M n } which are graphs. Ergo surfaces are investigated in spacetimes with a cosmological constant. We find the existence of multiple timelike Killing vectors, each corresponding to a distinct ergo surface, with no one being preferred. Using a kinematic invariant, which provides a measure of hypersurface orthogonality, we explore its potential role in selecting a preferred timelike Killing vector and consequently a unique ergo surface.  相似文献
