Boundaries for algebras of holomorphic functions

Let A_u(B_G) be the Banach algebra of all complex valued functions defined on the closed unit ball B_G of a complex Banach space G which are uniformly continuous on B_G and holomorphic in the interior of B_G, endowed with the sup norm. A characterization of the boundaries for A_u(B_G) is given in case G belongs to a class of Banach spaces that includes the pre-dual of a Lorentz sequence space studied by Gowers in Israel J. Math. 69 (1990) 129-151. The non-existence of the Shilov boundary for A_u(B_G) is also proved.     

Complex homogeneous spaces of real groups with top homology in codimension two

SupposeX=G/H is a connected homogeneous complex manifold, whereG is a Lie group andH is a closed subgroup. Assume (X) and letG/H G/I be the holomorphic reduction ofX. If the top nonvanishing homology group ofX with coefficients in ₂ is in codimension two, then either a complex Lie group acts tansitively onG/I (see [3]) orG/I is biholomorphic to the unit disk.Partially supported by NSERC Grant A3494 and by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft     

Cousin I condition and Stein spaces

Here we give a few n-dimensional extensions of a recent result of M. Abe concerning a Cousin I characterization of two-dimensional Stein manifolds.     

Numerically anticanonical divisors on Kato surfaces

The compact curves of an intermediate Kato surface $S$ form a basis of $H^2(S,\mathbb{Q})$. We present a way to compute the associated rational coefficients of the first Chern class $c_1\left(S\right)$. We get in particular a simple geometric obstruction for $c_1\left(S\right)$ to be an integral class, or equivalently index $\left(S\right)=1$. In the final part we discuss relations with some recent work of Dloussky (2011) and Oeljeklaus and Toma (2009).     

Examples of non-conjugated holomorphic vector fields and foliations

We consider germs of holomorphic vector fields near the origin of with a saddle-node singularity, and the induced singular foliations. In a previous article we described the invariants addressing the analytical classification of these vector fields. They split into three parts: a formal, an orbital and a tangential component. For a fixed formal class, the orbital invariant (associated to the foliation) was obtained by Martinet and Ramis; we give it an integral representation. We then derive examples of non-orbitally conjugated foliations by the use of a “first-step” normal form, whose first-significative jet is an invariant. The tangential invariant also admits an integral representation, hence we derive explicit examples of vector fields, inducing the same foliation, that are not mutually conjugated. In addition, we provide a family of normal forms for vector fields orbitally equivalent to the model of Poincaré-Dulac.     

Bounded holomorphic functions and maps with some boundary behavior

Let Ω be a domain of . As a study of boundary behavior of functions and maps in Ω, we consider “the linear cluster set,” which is the cluster set along segment terminating at a boundary point of Ω. We prove that there exist bounded holomorphic functions and maps defined in Ω which have the linear cluster sets of positive measure at every point of a discrete subset of the boundary of Ω under some conditions.     

Some generalizations of Chirka's extension theorem

In this paper, we generalize Chirka's theorem on the extension of functions holomorphic in a neighbourhood of - where is the open unit disc in and is the graph of a continuous valued function on - to higher dimensions, for certain classes of graphs 1$">. In particular, we show that Chirka's extension theorem generalizes to configurations in 1$">, involving graphs of (non-holomorphic) polynomial maps with small coefficients.
