A parametric representation of linguistic hedges in Zadeh’s fuzzy logic

This paper proposes a model for the parametric representation of linguistic hedges in Zadeh’s fuzzy logic. In this model each linguistic truth-value, which is generated from a primary term of the linguistic truth variable, is identified by a real number r depending on the primary term. It is shown that the model yields a method of efficiently computing linguistic truth expressions accompanied with a rich algebraic structure of the linguistic truth domain, namely De Morgan algebra. Also, a fuzzy logic based on the parametric representation of linguistic truth-values is introduced.     

Complete Surjections and Complete Epimorphisms over Completely Distributive Lattices

Generators and lattice properties of the poset of complete homomorphisic images of a completely distributive lattice are exploited via the localic methods. Some intrinsic and extrinsic conditions about this poset to be a completely distributive lattice are given. It is shown that the category of completely distributive lattices is co-well-powered,and complete epimorphisms on completely distributive lattice are not necessary to be surjections. Finally, some conditions about complete epimorphisms to be surjections are given.

Distributive Products and Their Homology

We develop a theory of sets with distributive products (called shelves and multi-shelves) and of their homology. We relate the shelf homology to the rack and quandle homology.     

Representations of distributive semilattices in ideal lattices of various algebraic structures

We study the relationships among existing results about representations of distributive semilattices by ideals in dimension groups, von Neumann regular rings, C*-algebras, and complemented modular lattices. We prove additional representation results which exhibit further connections with the scattered literature on these different topics. The optimization problem over a distributive lattice

In this paper we give a necessary and sufficient condition for existence of minimal solution(s) of the linear system A * X ≥ b where A, b are fixed matrices and X is an unknown matrix over a lattice. Next, an algorithm which finds these minimal solutions over a distributive lattice is given. Finally, we find an optimal solution for the optimization problem min {Z = C * X | A * X ≥ b} where C is the given matrix of coefficients of objective function Z. This research was completed while the author was a visitor of the Center for Informatics and Applied Optimization, University of Ballarat, Ballarat, Australia.     

Koszul filtrations and finite lattices

In this note, we characterize when a finite lattice is distributive in terms of the existences of some particular classes of Koszul filtrations.
