The Iyengar Type Inequalities with Exact Estimations and the Chebyshev Central Algorithms of Integrals

In this paper, both low order and high order extensions of the Iyengar type inequality are obtained. Such extensions are the best possible in the same sense as that of the Iyengar inequality. hzrthermore, the Chebyshev central algorithms of integrals for some function classes and some related problems are also considered and investigated.     

On Best Approximations from RS-sets in Complex Banach Spaces

The concept of an RS-set in a complex Banach space is introduced and the problem of best approximation from an RS-set in a complex space is investigated. Results consisting of characterizations, uniqueness and strong uniqueness are established,     

Proximality and Chebyshev sets

This paper is a companion to a lecture given at the Prague Spring School in Analysis in April 2006. It highlights four distinct variational methods of proving that a finite dimensional Chebyshev set is convex and hopes to inspire renewed work on the open question of whether every Chebyshev set in Hilbert space is convex.     

Construction of best Bregman approximations in reflexive Banach spaces

An iterative method is proposed to construct the Bregman projection of a point onto a countable intersection of closed convex sets in a reflexive Banach space.

     

R?ntgenspektrometrische Elementbestimmung in Abwasser: Probenvorbereitung und Matrixkorrekturverfahren

Zusammenfassung Für Elementbestimmungen in Abwasser wird ein Röntgenfluorescenzverfahren beschrieben. Zur Probenvorbereitung werden die Elemente durch Gefriertrocknung auf einem inerten Träger angereichert. Diese Anreicherung ist nicht selektiv und erfaßt praktisch alle in Abwasser gelösten und suspendierten Verunreinigungen. Für die Berechnung der Elementkonzentrationen aus den gemessenen Fluorescenzintensitäten wird ein Matrixkorrekturverfahren angegeben, welches dem unterschiedlichen Absorptionsverhalten der Probenmatrix Rechnung trägt. Die Massenabsorptionskoeffizienten werden durch Messung der diffus gestreuten Bremsstrahlung bzw. der Comptonstreustrahlung ermittelt. Die Selbstabsorption des zu bestimmenden Elementes wird rechnerisch berücksichtigt. Das Korrekturverfahren kann auf alle mit Röntgenfluorescenzanalyse bestimmbaren Elemente angewendet werden.

Determination of elements in waste water by x-ray fluorescence analysis: Sample preparation and matrix correction method

Summary For sample preparation the elements are enriched upon an inert carrier by freeze-drying. This enriching procedure is not selective and collects all dissolved and suspended contaminations from the waste water. In order to calculate the element concentrations from the measured fluorescence intensities a matrix correction method is given which considers the different absorption behaviour of the matrix. The mass absorption coefficients are obtained by measuring the scattered X-ray tube spectrum or a Compton scattered X-ray tube line, respectively. The self-absorption of the element to be determined is taken into account. The correction method is applicable to all elements detectable by X-ray fluorescence.

Bestimmung der Oberfl?chenzusammensetzung von Calcit in Mg2+-haltigen Ca-45-markierten L?sungen

Zusammenfassung Über den Ca²⁺-Mg²⁺-Ionenaustausch wurde der Mg²⁺-Ionengehalt in Calcitoberflächen in Abhängigkeit von der Mg²⁺-Konzentration in Ca-45-markierten Lösungen bestimmt. Es wurde gefunden, daß der Anstieg des Molverhältnisses Mg/Ca in der Calcit-Oberfläche bei steigendem Mg²⁺-Gehalt in der Lösung jeweils bei Erreichen von Mg/Ca 1 und 3 deutlich verringert wird. Die ermittelte Austauschisotherme kann benutzt werden, um über eine Bestimmung des Mg/Ca-Verhältnisses in der Lösung auf dasjenige in der Oberfläche zu schließen.Vortrag anläßlich der Tagung Spurenanalyse, 2. bis 5. Zur direkten ma?analytischen Bestimmung von Carbamaten als sehr schwache S?uren

Zusammenfassung Eine direkte maßanalytische Methode zur Bestimmung diverser Carbamate wird beschrieben. Die potentiometrische Titration mit käuflicher Tetra-n-butylammoniumhydroxid-Lösung, verdünnt mit Propanol-(2), ist bequem durchzuführen, und die erhaltenen Titrationskurven gestatten eine korrekte Auswertung.

Direct volumetric determination of carbamates as very weak acids

Summary A volumetric procedure for the determination of some carbamates is described. The potentiometric titration with commercial tetra-n-butylammonium hydroxide solution diluted with propanol-(2) is convenient and the obtained titration curves permit a correct calculation.

Spectrophotometric determination of the molecular weight of Dextran
