Similarity-Projection Structures: The Logical Geometry of Quantum Physics

Similarity-Projection structures abstract the numerical properties of real scalar product of rays and projections in Hilbert spaces to provide a more general framework for Quantum Physics. They are characterized by properties that possess direct physical meaning. They provide a formal framework that subsumes both classical Boolean logic concerned with sets and subsets and quantum logic concerned with Hilbert space, closed subspaces and projections. They shed light on the role of the phase factors that are central to Quantum Physics. The generalization of the notion of a self-adjoint operator to SP-structures provides a novel notion that is free of linear algebra. In this note, we shall classify Novikov algebras that admit an invariant Lorentzian symmetric bilinear form.     

Special tensors in the deformation theory of quadratic algebras for the classical Lie algebras

Using deformation theory, Braverman and Joseph constructed certain primitive ideals in the enveloping algebras of the simple Lie algebras. Except in the case sl(2,C)$\mathfrak{s}\mathfrak{l}(2,\mathbb{C})$, there is a special value of the deformation parameter giving an ideal of infinite codimension. For the classical Lie algebras, the uniqueness of the special value is equivalent to the existence of tensors with very particular properties. The existence of these tensors was concluded abstractly by Braverman and Joseph but here we present explicit formulae. This allows a rather direct computation of the special value of the deformation parameter.     

Boolean algebras and uniform convergence of series

Several classical results on uniform convergence of unconditionally Cauchy series are generalized to weakly unconditionally Cauchy series. This uniform convergence is characterized through subalgebras and subfamilies of . A generalization of the Orlicz-Pettis theorem is also proved by mean of subalgebras of .

Recollements of extension algebras

Let A be a finite-dimensional algebra over arbitrary base field k. We prove: if the unbounded derived module category D-(Mod-A) admits symmetric recollement relative to unbounded derived module categories of two finite-dimensional k-algebras B and C:D- (Mod - B) D-(Mod - A) D-(Mod - C),then the unbounded derived module category D-(Mod - T(A)) admits symmetric recollement relative to the unbounded derived module categories of T(B) and T(C):D-(Mod - T(B)) D-(Mod - T(A)) D-(Mod -T(C)).     

On a Lift of an Individual Stable Equivalence to a Standard Derived Equivalence for Representation-Finite Self-injective Algebras

We shall show that every stable equivalence (functor) between representation-finite self-injective algebras not of type (D _3m ,s/3,1) with m2, 3s lifts to a standard derived equivalence. This implies that all stable equivalences between these algebras are of Morita type.     

Induced product representations of extended Cuntz algebras

Let _H be the extended Cuntz algebra over the Hilbert space H. Since its zero grade part _H⁰ is the C^*-inductive limit of B(H^r), we look for some family of representations on an inductive limit of H^r as r. When such construction is shaped according to the structure of _H⁰, von Neumanns notion of a reference sequence of unit vectors for Hilbert infinite tensor products emerges; after a further Rieffel induction step, a class IPR[H] of representations of _H arises. For any two such representations, we describe explicitly their associated intertwiners. Any two representations in IPR[H] are either disjoint or unitarily equivalent. Actions of the group by translation on sequences of unit vectors are involved, as well as the ideals of .     

On Gouvêa's conjecture in the unobstructed case

In this article, for a residual modular representation defined over an arbitrary finite field, Gouvêa's conjecture which says that the universal deformation ring is isomorphic to a certain Hecke algebra is proven in the unobstructed case.     

Uncertainty relations for a q-deformed coherent spin state

A Coherent Spin State (CSS) is defined as an eigenstate of the spin component in the direction specified by angles (θ₀,?₀). This state satisfies minimum uncertainty relation, with uncertainties equally distributed on any two orthogonal components normal to the direction of the total spin vector 〈S〉. Starting from this concept, we apply the notion of CSS to quantum groups and discuss the properties of q-deformed CSS and the associated uncertainty relations. We show that these states behave as Intelligent Spin States (ISS) on two orthogonal components normal to the direction of the mean value of the spin operator.
