Boundedness of semilinear Duffing equations at resonance in a critical situation

In this paper, we propose a sufficient and necessary condition for the boundedness of all the solutions for the equation $\ddot{x}+n^{2}x+g(x)=p(t)$ with the critical situation that $|{\int }_0^{2\pi }p(t)e^{?int}dt|=2|g(+\infty )?g(?\infty )|$ on g and p, where $n\in {\mathbb{N}}^{+}$, $p(t)$ is periodic and $g(x)$ is bounded.     

Reductions of interval noncooperative games

Noncooperative games of a finite number of persons with interval-valued payoff functions are considered. The concept of an equilibrium situation is introduced. A reduction of such games to deterministic noncooperative games is proposed. Properties of the reduced games are discussed. Interval antagonistic and bimatrix games are examined, and illustrative examples are considered.

A DIAGNOSTIC STUDY OF FORMATION AND MAINTENANCE OF BLOCKING SITUATION ON THE NORTHERN HEMISPHERE USING E-P FLUX

In this paper, the variations of the mean flow, the E-P flux and its divergence of planetary waves in the process of the formation, maintenance and collapse of the blocking situation in the second half of February, 1979 are analysed with the transformed Eulerian mean-motion equations.Analysed results show that because the basic flow changes from the easterly into the westerly in the lower troposphere at high latitudes, the planetary wave for wavenumber 2 strongly propagates upwards, and because of the interaction between the upward propagating planetary wave and the basic flow, the westerty is weakened and approaches to the resonant flow of wavenumber 2 in the middle and upper troposphere (then, in the lower and middle Stratosphere). This may cause the anomalous amplification of planetary wave for wavenumber 2, and moreover make the mean flow change from the westerly into the easterly in the lower and middle stratosphere, following the upper troposphere. On Estimation of Temperature Uncertainty Using the Second Order Adjoint Problem

The uncertainty of temperature prediction from the heat flux error is estimated using first and second order adjoint equations. The adjoint codes developed for the inverse heat transfer problems provide the uncertainty estimation for the corresponding forward problems. Numerical tests corroborate the feasibility of fast uncertainty estimation using Hessian maximum eigenvalue obtained via second order adjoint equations.

Multi-adjoint algebras versus non-commutative residuated structures

Adjoint triples and pairs are basic operators used in several domains, since they increase the flexibility in the framework in which they are considered. This paper introduces multi-adjoint algebras and several properties; also, we will show that an adjoint triple and its “dual” cannot be considered in the same framework.Moreover, a comparison among general algebraic structures used in different frameworks, which reduce the considered mathematical requirements, such as the implicative extended-order algebras, implicative structures, the residuated algebras given by sup-preserving aggregations and the conjunctive algebras given by semi-uninorms and u-norms, is presented. This comparison shows that multi-adjoint algebras generalize these structures in domains which require residuated implications, such as in formal concept analysis, fuzzy rough sets, fuzzy relation equations and fuzzy logic.
