A boundary integral formulation for elastically deformable particles in a viscous fluid

This paper reports a formulation and implementation of a mixed (both direct and indirect) boundary element method using the double layer and its adjoint in a form suitable for solving Stokes flow problems involving elastically deformable particles. The formulation is essentially the Completed Double Layer Boundary Element Method for solving an exterior traction problem for the surrounding fluid or solid phase, followed by an interior displacement, and a mobility problem (if required) for the elastic particles. At the heart of the method is a deflation procedure that allows iterative solution strategies to be adopted, effectively opens the way for large-scale simulations of suspensions of deformable particles to be performed. Several problems are considered, to illustrate and benchmark the method. In particular, an analytical solution for an elastic sphere in an elongational flow is derived. The stresslet calculations for an elastic sphere in shear and elongational flows indicate that elasticity of the inclusions can potentially lead to positive second normal stress difference in shear flow, and an increase in the tensile resistance in elongational flow.This work is supported by a grant from the Australian Research Grant Council. 本文报导了在系列复合氧化物催化剂上苯胺和甲醇反应合成Ｎ，Ｎ－二甲苯胺（ＤＭＡ）研究，并从中选择了活性和选择性都良好的ＬＨＰ催化剂，在常压气相反应条件下详细地考察了反应温度，液时空速（ＬＨＳＶ），苯胺和甲醇摩尔比变化等对催化剂活性和选择性的影响，提出了两段转化的新工艺流程。并经扩大试验，证明两段转化工艺过程优于一段转化法。第一段反应时苯胺转化率大于９５％，ＤＭＡ选择性大于７０％，第二段转化后，产物中几乎不含苯胺，ＤＭＡ选择性大于９４％，并在工业固定床催化反应装置中常压气相反应条件下试生产成功。     

A Slice Theorem for Open Manifolds

Denote by the unit component of the completed diffeomorphism group. Then acts properly on comp ^r (g ₀) _{K s < 0} and admits slices. We apply this to Teichmüller theory for open surfaces.

Primeness, semiprimeness and localisation in Iwasawa algebras

Necessary and sufficient conditions are given for the completed group algebras of a compact -adic analytic group with coefficient ring the -adic integers or the field of elements to be prime, semiprime and a domain. Necessary and sufficient conditions are found for the localisation at semiprime ideals related to the augmentation ideals of closed normal subgroups. Some information is obtained about the Krull and global dimensions of the localisations. The results extend and complete work of A. Neumann and J. Coates et al.
