In this work, the natural convection in a concentric annulus between a cold outer square cylinder and a heated inner circular cylinder is simulated using the differential quadrature (DQ) method. The vorticity‐stream function formulation is used as the governing equation, and the coordinate transformation technique is introduced in the DQ computation. It is shown in this paper that the outer square boundary can be approximated by a super elliptic function. As a result, the coordinate transformation from the physical domain to the computational domain is set up by an analytical expression, and all the geometrical parameters can be computed exactly. Numerical results for Rayleigh numbers range from 104 to 106 and aspect ratios between 1.67 and 5.0 are presented, which are in a good agreement with available data in the literature. It is found that both the aspect ratio and the Rayleigh number are critical to the patterns of flow and thermal fields. The present study suggests that a critical aspect ratio may exist at high Rayleigh number to distinguish the flow and thermal patterns. Copyright © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

根据环形管通道内流体流动和换热的特点,以Kirillov和Smogalev提出的干涸点理论模型假设为基础,从最基本的质量守恒方程出发,并引入临界液膜厚度等相应的辅助模型,得到了双面加热环形通道内流动沸腾干涸点的理论模型。同时针对间隙为1.0mm和1.5mm的环形窄缝进行了低压低质量流速工况下干涸点的实验研究。比较发现理论模型预测值与实验结果基本相符。说明本文提出的理论模型适用于低压低流量条件下的窄环形通道。实验同时发现:环状流临界热流密度在系统压力为2.2MPa达到最大值,临界含汽量随质量流速的增大呈缓慢下降趋势。  相似文献

Using the perturbation method, the axial laminar flow of Non-Newtonian fluid through an eccentric annulus is studied in the present paper. Shiffman proved that if a minimal annulus A in a slab is bounded by two convex Jordan curves contained respectively in the two boundary planes P and Q of the slab, then A intersects all parallel planes between P and Q in strictly convex curves. We generalize Shiffman's result to the case that A is bounded by a strictly convex C2 Jordan curve and a straight line. We show that in this case Shiffman's result is still true.  相似文献

By using the Chebyshev criterion to study the number of zeros of Abelian integrals, developed by M. Grau, F. Ma\(\~n\)osas and J. Villadelprat in [2], we prove that the cyclicity of period annulus of the quadratic reversible systems with center of genus one, classified as (r8), (r13) and (r16) by S. Gautier, L. Gavrilov and I. D. Iliev in [1], under quadratic perturbations is two. These results partially give a positive answer to the conjecture 1 in [1].  相似文献

Suppose that Mi has a Heegaard splitting Vi ∪Si Wi with distance d(Si) ≥ 2g(Mi) + 2g(F3-i) + 1, i = 1, 2. Then g(M) = g(M1) + g(M2), and the minimal Heegaard splitting of M is unique, which is the natural Heegaard splitting of M induced from Vi∪S1 Wi and V2 ∪S2 W2.  相似文献
