We report on the realization and characterization of electro-responsive and pressure sensitive polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) conductive photonic structures combined with the reconfigurable properties of short pitch cholesteric liquid crystals (aligned in Grandjean configuration). By combining ion-implantation process and surface chemistry functionalization, we have overcome the insulating properties of PDMS and induced long range organization of cholesteric liquid crystals, thus controlling both diffraction and selective Bragg reflection of light by means of external perturbations (electric field, pressure). We have characterized our devices in terms of morphological, optical and electro-optical properties.  相似文献

In this paper, a silicon-based integrated optic pressure sensor using an intermodal interference between the fundamental TM-like and TE-like modes is described. The sensor consists of a micromachined rectangular diaphragm and a straight polystyrene optical waveguide passing over the diaphragm. Its sensitivity is theoretically known to be strongly dependent on the position of the waveguide over the diaphragm. To experimentally investigate such dependence, we fabricated a sensor with a 1.2 mm ×10 mm ×20 μm diaphragm, over which waveguides were placed at 50 μm intervals. The measured phase sensitivity was 98 mrad/kPa for the waveguide nearest to the diaphragm edge. The measurement was also carried out for the other waveguides. As theoretically expected, the largest sensitivity was obtained for the waveguide nearest to the edge.  相似文献

The Raman phonon spectroscopic study shows that the photodimerization of 2,6-dimethyl-p-benzoquinone. In the solid state is initially a homogeneous reaction but later becomes heterogeneous as the product accumulates. The Ion-temperature electronic absorption spectrum reveals that the reaction is phonon assisted by a polaron formed due to a strong electron- phonon coupling in the cxcited 1* state.  相似文献

Georges Sagnac is mostly known for the optical effect in rotating frames that he demonstrated in 1913. His scientific interests were quite diverse: they included photography, optical illusions, X-ray physics, radioactivity, the blue of the sky, anomalous wave propagation, interferometry, strioscopy, and acoustics. An optical theme nonetheless pervaded his entire œuvre. Within optics, an original theory of the propagation of light motivated most of his investigations, from an ingenious explanation of the Fresnel drag, through the discovery of the Sagnac effect, to his quixotic defense of an alternative to relativity theory. Optical analogies efficiently guided his work in other domains. Optics indeed was his true passion. He saw himself as carrying the torch of the two great masters of French optics, Augustin Fresnel and Hippolyte Fizeau. In this mission he overcame his poor health and labored against the modernist tide, with much success originally and bitter isolation in the end.  相似文献

In the present study the response of the fiber optic evanescent field absorption sensor has been analyzed experimentally. The dependence of evanescent absorbance on sample (dye) concentration has been found to be nonlinear, in contradiction to theoretical predictions. The amount of nonlinearity as well as evanescent absorbance has been found to depend on the pH of the sample. As the pH decreases, the amount of nonlinearity and evanescent absorbance decrease. It has been shown that the nonlinearity and high evanescent absorbance at high pH value occur because of the adsorption of the positively charged dye molecules on the surface of the silica core of the plastic-clad silica (PCS) fiber, which is generally used for the sensor. A linear response has been obtained at pH close to 2.0, at which the presence of a tremendous amount of H ions in the sample restricts the adsorption of the dye molecules. The following empirical relation has been found to fit the experimental data: gamma 1.1C 1.6(pH)32C 1 3, where gamma is the evanescent absorption coefficient and C is the concentration of the dye. The first term is due to the simple Beer's law while the second term is the contribution of the pH dependent dye adsorption. In addition, we have found that the increase in core diameter increases the contribution of adsorption.  相似文献

The hyperfine structure of iodine-127 at 612 nm and 640 nm is observed by saturated absorption in a gas cell placed within a He-Ne laser cavity modified to operate at these wavelengths. At 612 nm, all the 21 components of the strong R 47 9-2 line lie within the laser gain profile, and the resulting saturated absorption peaks have a contrast of 10% at a gas pressure of 3 Pa.  相似文献

采用一台大面阵CCD和广角摄影物镜的组合,研制成功一种新型的单面阵CCD航天立体摄影测量系统.该系统焦距为23.3 mm;视场角为40°;在空间分辨率为36 lp/mm时,MTF均值达到0.8以上;光谱适应范围为0.5 μm~0.75 μm.和国内外常用的三线阵CCD遥感立体测量相机相比,本系统结构更简单、体积更小,重量更轻,更加适用于航天遥感应用环境.  相似文献
