The grafting of 3‐(trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate (TMSPM) onto chitosan by ceric ion initiation was studied under homogeneous conditions in 2% acetic acid solution. The grafted polymer was characterized by FT‐IR, 1H‐NMR, TGA and XRD and swelling studies. TGA results showed that the incorporation of TMSPM to the chitosan chains decreased the thermal stability of the grafted chitosan. Due to the grafting of TMSPM, the crystallinity of chitosan derivatives was found to be destroyed. The solubility of the grafted chitosan in water was improved. The effects of reaction conditions such as initiator concentration, monomer concentration, reaction temperature and reaction time were studied by determining the grafting parameters such as grafting and grafting efficiency. Under optimum conditions, the grafting parameters were achieved as 1440 and 97%, respectively.  相似文献

Divinyl-hexa[(trimethoxysilyl)ethyl]-POSS (DVPS) as an octavinyl-POSS derivative was first prepared. A series of novel polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)/DVPS hybrid materials as room temperature vulcanized (RTV) silicone rubber were prepared. The chemical incorporation of novel POSS into hydroxyl-terminated PDMS system by hydrolytic condensation reaction was verified by attenuated total reflection (ATR) infrared spectroscopy. Thermal degradation, thermo-oxidative stability and mechanical properties of these novel RTV silicone rubbers were studied by means of thermogravimetric analysis and tensile testing. The results exhibited significantly enhanced effects on the thermal stabilities and mechanical properties as compared to the PDMS polymer prepared with tetraethoxysilane (TEOS). The observed improvements in thermal properties could be attributed to the effective three-dimensional network structures resulting from the structure of DVPS. The thermal decomposition of the RTV silicone rubbers in nitrogen was also monitored by TGA coupled with real-time FTIR, and the degradation residues were also characterized by FTIR. It was found that the POSS cross-linker facilitated the formation of cross-links in the degradation residues. The striking improvement in mechanical properties could be attributed to the synergistic action of the structure of three-dimensional multi-arm cross-linker (vinyl-POSS derivative), the plasticization of self-cross-linking Vinyl-POSS derivative and perfect distribution of vinyl-POSS derivative.  相似文献

Summary Dye-partition technique as an useful method of measuring kinetic chain length (v), rate of initiation (R i ), initiator efficiency (f), and the parameter [=(2k t)1/2 k p] etc. in radical polymerization using styrene and methylmethacrylate as monomers in dimethyl formamide medium and 4,4 azobis-4-cyanopentanoic acid as the initiator to produce dye responsive carboxyl ended polymers has been discussed. The values ofR p,f and obtained by this method compare fairly well with those obtained by a standard method, viz., molecular weight method. The magnitude off much less than unity and constancy in its value under different concentrations of monomers and initiator indicate that almost all radicals surviving geminate recombination is captured by the monomers. The precautions necessary for applying this method have also been discussed.
Zusammenfassung Farbstoff-Verteilungstechnik als nützliche Methode zur Messung der kinetischen Kettenlänge (v), Initiationsgeschwindigkeit (R i ), des Initiator-Wirkungsgrades (f), und des Kennwertes (2k,1/2 k p ) (=) etc. bei der radikalischen Polymerisation von Styrol und Methylmethacrylat in Dimethylformamid-Medium mit 4,4'-Azobis-4-cyanopentansäure als Initiator zur Bildung von mit Farbstoffen reagierenden Carboxylatendgruppen in den Polymeren, wurde diskutiert. Die durch obengenannte Methode festgestellten Werte vonR p ),f und sind ungefähr mit den durch übliche Methoden festgestellten Werten vergleichbar (durch Molekulargewicht-Methode).Die konstante Größenordnung von 'f, die viel weniger als eins beträgt, weist darauf hin, daß alle die paarweise Rekombination überlebenden Radikale von den Monomeren abgefangen werden. Die zur Anwendung dieser Methode nötigen Vorsichtsmaßnahmen sind auch diskutiert worden.

A mesoporous hybrid gel is prepared with tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) and bis(trimethoxysilyl)hexane (TSH) as precursors without using any templating agent. Nitrogen sorption, TG-DTA, FTIR, and point of zero charge (PZC) measurement are used to characterize the gel. The gel has a specific surface area of 695 m(2) g(-1) with a pore size of 3.5 nm, a pore volume of 0.564 cm(3) g(-1), and a point of zero charge (PZC) of 6.2. The kinetics and thermodynamics of bromophenol blue (BPB) adsorption by the gel in aqueous solution are investigated comprehensively. The effects of initial BPB concentration, pH, ionic strength, and temperature on the adsorption are investigated. Kinetic studies show that the kinetic data are well described by the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. Initial adsorption rate increases with the increase in initial BPB concentration and temperature. Adsorption activation energy is found to be 62.5-67.5 kJ mol(-1) depending on the initial BPB concentration. Internal diffusion appears to be the rate-limiting step for the adsorption process. The equilibrium adsorption amount increases with the increase in the initial BPB concentration, solution acidity, and ionic strength, but decreases with the increase in temperature. The thermodynamic analysis indicates that the adsorption is spontaneous and exothermic. The adsorption isotherms can be well described with Freundlich equation indicating the heterogeneity of the hybrid gel surface. Electrostatic and hydrophobic interactions are suggested to be the dominant mechanism for adsorption.  相似文献

This review critically summarises recent novel and advanced achievements in the application of monolithic materials and related porous polymer gels in micro-fluidic devices appearing within the literature over the period of the last 5 years (2005-2010). The range of monolithic materials has developed rapidly over the past decade, with a diverse and highly versatile class of materials now available, with each exhibiting distinct porosities, pore sizes, and a wide variety of surface functionalities. A major advantage of these materials is their ease of preparation in micro-fluidic channels by in situ polymerisation, leading to monolithic materials being increasingly utilised for a larger variety of purposes in micro-fluidic platforms. Applications of porous polymer monoliths, silica-based monoliths and related homogeneous porous polymer gels in the preparation of separation columns, ion-permeable membranes, preconcentrators, extractors, electrospray emitters, micro-valves, electrokinetic pumps, micro-reactors and micro-mixers in micro-fluidic devices are discussed herein. Procedures used in the preparation of monolithic materials in micro-channels, as well as some practical aspects of the micro-fluidic chip fabrication are addressed. Recent analytical/bioanalytical and catalytic applications of the final micro-fluidic devices incorporating monolithic materials are also reviewed.  相似文献

Nanocomposite latex particles, with a silica nanoparticle as core and crosslinked poly(tert‐butylmethacrylate) as shell, were prepared in this work. Silica nanoparticles were first synthesized by a sol‐gel process, and then modified by 3‐(trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate (MPS) to graft C?C groups on their surfaces. The MPS‐modified silica nanoparticles were characterized by elemental analysis, FTIR, and 29Si NMR and 13C‐NMR spectroscopy; the results showed that the C?C groups were successfully grafted on the surface of the silica nanoparticles and the grafted substance was mostly the oligomer formed by the hydrolysis and condensation reaction of MPS. Silica/poly(tert‐butylmethacrylate) core/shell nanocomposite latex particles were prepared via seed emulsion polymerization using the MPS‐modified silica nanoparticle as seed, tert‐butylmethacrylate as monomer and ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate as crosslinker. Their core/shell nanocomposite structure and chemical composition were characterized by means of TEM and FTIR, respectively, and the results indicated that silica/poly(tert‐butylmethacrylate) core/shell nanocomposite latex particles were obtained.  相似文献

In this study, the group transfer polymerization (GTP) of the functional monomer 3‐(trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate (TMSPMA) is reported to produce polymers of different architectures and topologies. TMSPMA is successfully polymerized and copoly­merized with GTP to produce well‐defined (co)polymers that can be used to fabricate functional hybrid materials like hydrogels and films.

Reversible addition–fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization and characterization of an alkoxysilane acrylamide monomer using a trithiocarbonate chain transfer agent are described. Poly(N‐[3‐(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]acrylamide) (PTMSPAA) homopolymers are obtained with good control over the polymerization. A linear increase in the molecular weight is observed whereas the polydispersity values do not exceed 1.2 regardless of the monomer conversion. Moreover, PTMSPAA is used as a macro‐RAFT agent to polymerize N‐isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM). By varying the degree of polymerization of NIPAM within the block copolymer, different sizes of thermoresponsive particles are obtained. These particles are stabilized by the condensation of the alkoxysilane moieties of the polymers. Furthermore, a co‐network of silica and PTMSPAA is prepared using the sol–gel process. After drying, transparent mesoporous hybrids are obtained with a surface area of up to 400 m2 g−1.

Electronic structures and absorption spectra properties of complex 8-((trimethoxysilyl)methylthio)quinoline.SnCh in gas phase and MeCN media have been investigated by using DFT/TD-DFT method. The calculated lowest-energy absorption band shows different mechanisms under these two conditions, and it bears LMCT/LLCT/ILCT character in MeCN solution and LLCT/ILCT character in gas phase. The calculated absorption bands of the title complex in MeCN solvent are in good agreement with the experimental results, and calculation results indicate that the very weak experimentally observed lowest-energy absorption band of the title complex in MeCN solvent originates from the spin-forbidden singlet-triplet transitions.  相似文献

Monofunctional polylactones were prepared by Bu2Sn(OMe)2‐initiated ring‐opening polymerization of ε‐caprolactone (εCL) followed by acylation with bromoacetylbromide. Telechelic polylactones and polylactides were prepared via ring‐expansion polymerization with 2,2‐dibutyl‐2‐stanna‐1,3‐dioxepane (DSDOP) or 2,2‐dibutyl‐2‐stanna‐pentaoxacyclotridecane (Bu2SnTEG) as cyclic initiator. In situ combination of the polymerization with condensation by means of bromoacetylbromide yielded polylactones having bromoacetate endgroups. These endgroups were subjected to nucleophilic substitution with 3‐mercaptopropyl trimethoxysilane (3‐MPTMS). Analogous experiments were conducted with dl‐lactide. The telechelic trimethoxysilyl‐endcapped polylactones were characterized by viscosity, 1H and 13C NMR‐spectroscopy, and MALDI‐TOF mass spectrometry.
