The basic damage and failure models of multiaxially reinforced composites with a thermoplastic matrix are presented and verified.
Within the framework of continuum damage mechanics, a phenomenological model is introduced, where the damage is defined as
a change in the elasticity tensor. For damage identification, a specific ultrasonic device was developed. A combination of
an immersion set-up and a contact coupling device formed a system for an efficient determination of stiffness-tensor components
from convenient sets of velocity measurements. Linked to a tensile machine, it allowed us to measure the anisotropic damage
of the new materials group caused by tensile loading.

A new testing apparatus is proposed to measure the thermal properties of fabrics made from polymeric materials. The calibration of the apparatus and the data acquisition procedure are considered in detail in order to measure thermal conductivity, resistance, absorption and diffusivity constants of the tested fabric samples. Differences between dry and wet fabrics have been carefully detected and analyzed. We have developed a new measurement protocol, the ThermoTex protocol, which agrees with the UNI EN 31092 standard and entails accurate quantification of the experimental errors according to a standard statistical analysis, thus allowing a rigorous investigation of the physical behavior of the phenomena involved. As a consequence, our equipment exhibits great potential for optimizing the thermal comfort of fabrics, according to the market demand, thanks to the possible development of a predictive phenomenological theory of the effects involved. 相似文献

Natural fibers containing components with phenolic hydroxyl groups, such as jute, wool, and silk, can be directly modified by laccase-catalyzed grafting. However, cellulosic fibers like cotton cannot be functionalized in this manner. In this work, we developed a facile two-step method to graft polymers on cotton fabric via laccase catalysis. First, polydopamine (PDA) coating was deposited on the surface of the cotton fabrics via catalysis of laccase/2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl (TEMPO) system. Then, the newly formed PDA coating acted as the secondary reaction platform for subsequent laccase-mediated grafting of hydrophobic monomer dodecyl gallate (DG). The oxidation of dopamine (DA) catalyzed with the laccase/TEMPO system was investigated using UV–visible (UV–vis) spectroscopy. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) results verified that the PDA was coated on the surface of cotton fibers. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra indicated that the PDA-coated cotton was successfully grafted with DG (DG-PDA-cotton). According to the weighting method, the grafting percentage was about 1.06%. The hydrophobicity of the DG-PDA-cotton fabrics was greatly improved with a contact angle of 133°. Also, the grafted cotton fabrics show repellency of water-soluble stains like coffee, milk, and tea. This study provides a new strategy for surface modification of cotton by laccase-mediated grafting, which offers the references for the green fabrication of cotton fabrics with improved functionalization. 相似文献

The airship structures made of multi-layer composite fabrics or membranes can offer the platform for earth observations, wireless communications and space research due to light weight and good mechanical performance. The structural safety and serviceability strongly depend on material properties and working conditions. Available studies are limited within service stress limits or are lack of suitable biaxial tensile constitutive models for understanding structural behavior. This paper thus focuses on a refined numerical model for determining inflation-burst behavior of composite airship structures considering new biaxial constitutive equations, novel failure criteria and manufacture factors.The differences between ideal and real forms of airship structures, e.g. volume difference, demonstrate the necessity for incorporating cutting-pattern effects in the initial numerical model. For structural analysis, stress distributions on real structural forms are different from those on ideal forms because of welding parts that can enhance local stiffness. The ultimate pressures are 56.7 kPa and 59.5 kPa for ideal and real structural forms. Structural breaking initiated at the maximum diameter of ideal structural forms propagates fast while welding parts can prevent breaking propagation for real structural forms. Therefore, the refined numerical model can reveal basic structural behavior and safety performance of airship structures in the inflation-burst processes. 相似文献

The utilization of composite fabric membrane materials for large-span membrane structures has attracted considerable attention in recent decades due to enhanced material properties. Biaxial mechanical properties with respect to real engineering applications are essential and indispensable in comparison with uniaxial ones. This study focuses on true biaxial characteristics of a typical polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)-coated polyester membrane material in terms of stress-strain characteristics and breaking criteria.The true stress-strain curves obtained from an experimental study, i.e. seven loading ratios on the basis of symmetry and typical conditions, are investigated with digital image correlation method. The interpolation of these curves in combination of least square method achieves a three-dimensional strain surface as a function of warp and weft strains, which is useful to assess reasonable structural behavior. A new breaking criteria intended for architectural fabric membrane is proposed in analogy to Tsai-Hill, Yeh-Stratton and Norris failure criteria. The basic constants in the criteria are determined using experimental results. A comparative analysis between available uniaxial and biaxial criteria shows that the new criteria can cover all criteria due to the fact that biaxial mechanical properties are larger than uniaxial ones. Furthermore, a similar but glued specimen is employed to compare welded specimens. It is obtained that observations, values and curve tendency are similar, demonstrating the suitability of using new specimens to identify true biaxial properties. 相似文献

The double melting endotherm of spunbonded isotactic polypropylene (iPP) fabrics was investigated by monitoring changes in the solid-state NMR spectrum that result from thermal annealing. The DSC melting thermogram was found to change from a double to a single endotherm at anneal temperatures ≥156°C, with a concomitant increase in percent crystallinity. All of the carbon resonances in the CP/MAS NMR spectrum of the purely crystalline phase of iPP were found to be composed of multiple peaks with relative intensities that depend on anneal temperature. By monitoring the changes in the distribution of intensity among the various peaks of a given resonance, a transition temperature of 156°C was identified. Arguments are presented that this redistribution of intensity within a given carbon resonance characterizes the transformation from the α1 to the α2 monoclinic crystal form. The exothermicity associated with this transformation is responsible for the observation of a double melting endotherm by DSC. The splitting patterns observed in the NMR spectrum are discussed in terms of interlayer distances between layers of isochiral helices and the density of exposed methyls at the contact faces of these interlayers. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 相似文献

Some selective cold plasma processing modify specific surface properties of textile polymeric materials such as their dyeability,
wettability and hydrorepellence. To correlate the sample surface changes with the acquired surface properties allows one to
obtain information on the chemical and physical processing involved in plasma treatment. In this work, atomic force microscopy
(AFM) has been applied to investigate the morphological and topographical surface modifications induced by RF cold plasma
processing of poly(ethyleneterephthalate) (PET) fabrics. Rms surface roughness and surface area of the samples are measured
before and after the treatments. The morphology changes have been analysed as a function of the treatment time and air gas
pressure. Measurements have been performed also using plasmas produced by different gases such as He, Ar, SF6 and CF4. The PET shows different behaviour with different gas plasmas. In the case of air, He and Ar gases the sample surface modifications
seem to be mainly due to etching effects, while the fluorine atoms grafting probably is responsible for surface rearrangement
process using SF6 and CF4 gases. As a consequence different surface properties are produced in the plasma treated samples.

A woven fabric can be described as a surface made of two families of fibers: in this work we study how the geometry of the
weave pattern affects the symmetry properties of the elastic energy of the surface. Four basic symmetry classes of weave patterns
are possible, depending on the angle between the fibers and their material properties. The properties of the pattern determine
the material symmetry group of the network, under which the elastic energy is invariant. We derive representations for the
energy of a woven fabric that are invariant under the symmetry group of the network, and discuss the relation of these invariants
with the curvature and twist of the fibers.

通过三元共聚将马来酸酐活性基团引入大分子链中,制备了两个系列的反应性高分子抗菌剂poly(DMAEMA-BC/AAm/MAn)和poly(DMAEMA-DB/AAm/MAn),并用FT-IR对合成的反应性高分子抗菌剂进行了结构表征,用酸碱滴定法测定了其酸值,通过平板活菌计数法测定了反应性高分子抗菌剂的抗菌活性,并表征了它们的抗菌活性对抗菌时间与浓度的依赖关系。通过热整理工艺将三元共聚物与棉织物反应,制得抗菌织物。之后,通过改良振荡烧瓶法测定了抗菌整理后棉织物的抗菌效果,并进一步考察了织物抗菌效果的耐洗性。研究结果表明,少量的马来酸酐(单体摩尔比5%)有助于提高共聚单体的反应活性,共聚物中含少量马来酸酐时,抗菌活性增强。用马来酸酐单体摩尔比5~35%的poly(DMAEMA-BC/AAm/MAn)或5~25%的poly(DMAEMA-DB/AAm/MAn)整理的抗菌织物均具有良好的抗菌效果,且前者经过100次水洗,后者经200次水洗后,仍表现良好的抗菌效果。 相似文献

This paper described the synthesis of copolymer emulsions of fluorine and siloxane‐containing acrylates for water‐repellent cotton fabrics coatings. Chemical composition, morphology structure, and properties of the latex copolymers were investigated by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), dynamic light scattering (DLS), gel permeation chromatography (GPC), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Effects of water‐repellent functional monomers (Rf) on surface morphology, water contact angle, and water‐repellent properties of the coated fabric surface were also studied. The results indicated that Rf greatly influenced molecular mass distribution of the latex copolymers, the molecular aggregation states and orientation of Rf on the coated fabric surface, and water‐repellency of coated cotton fabrics.
