Exiguolide, a new macrolide from the marine sponge Geodia exigua

A new 20-membered macrolide designated exiguolide has been isolated from the marine sponge Geodia exigua, and its structure determined by interpretation of spectroscopic data. Exiguolide specifically inhibited fertilization of sea urchin (Hemicentrotus pulcherrimus) gametes but not embryogenesis of the fertilized egg.

用^1HNMR谱可定量确定繁茂膜海绵(Hymeniacidon perleve)中分离得到的结构类似的甾醇类化合物的含量，这种方法是对鉴定分析组成复杂而性质很相近的天然甾醇化合物的新思路。     

Intra-annular cyclophane diamines as proton sponges: a computational study

Gas-phase proton affinities of cyclophanes containing intra-annular amino groups were calculated using density functional theory (DFT) at the B3LYP/6-31+G^∗∗//B3LYP/6-31G^∗ level. They are higher in magnitude as those for proton sponges such as 1,8-bisaminonaphthalene, however, they are slightly weaker bases than 1,8-bis(dimethylamino)naphthalene. The high basicity of the cyclophane diamines is attributed mainly to their structural flexibility, which allows them to maximize the hydrogen bond strength in the cations by achieving N-H?N linearity, while strain relief upon protonation is less important. Another contributing factor is the stabilizing interaction of the added proton with adjacent phenyl π systems of the cyclophanes. Barriers for proton transfer between the nitrogen atoms of the diamine cations are also reported.     

Structures and cytotoxicities of fascaplysin and related alkaloids from two marine phyla—Fascaplysinopsis sponges and Didemnum tunicates

The structural variations and bioactivity properties of the alkaloids in the fascaplysin (1) and the reticulatine (3) families were examined. Four organisms were analyzed consisting of two collections of the sponge Fascaplysinopsis reticulata and two collections of the tunicate Didemnum sp. Reported are the isolation of three new compounds: 3-bromofascaplysin (2), 14-bromoreticulatine (4), and 14-bromoreticulatate (6) along with reticulatate (5) previously known as a semi-synthetic product of 1. Compounds 1 and 5 showed selectivity in a cell based cytotoxicity assay.     

Crystal chemistry of protonated 1,2-bis(di-R-aminomethyl)benzenes. Part V. [1,2-bis(diethylaminomethyl)-3,6-dichlorobenzene:1,2-bis(diethylaminomethyl)-3,4,6-trichlorobenzene]perchlorate mixed crystals

The mixed crystals of 1,2-bis(diethylaminomethyl)-3,6-di- and 3,4,6-trichloro-benzene perchlorate at 0.5:0.5 ratio have been studied using X-ray diffraction and FT-IR spectroscopy. The molecules of di- and tri-chloro derivatives are distributed randomly in the crystal lattice; however, this disorder manifested mainly by a partial occupation of the chlorine atom at C(4) and by relatively big atomic temperature parameters even at 99 K, particularly for the oxygens of the perchlorate anion. The proton in the [NHN]⁺ bond refined close to the equidistant position between the nitrogens. The conformations of the diethylaminomethyl substituents are pseudo-symmetrical relative to the plane and twofold axis passing through the midpoint of the hydrogen bond. The IR spectrum of the crystals shows a broad intense band and an intense continuous absorption indicating relatively high proton polarizability in the intramolecular hydrogen bond. In acetonitrile and in chloroform, the proton in the intramolecular hydrogen bond also shows a very high proton polarizability demonstrated by the continuous absorption in the IR spectrum.     

八十年代海洋天然有机化学的进展

八十年代以来,海洋天然有机化学仍然继续发展,大量新的化合物,尤其是具有生理活性的化合物不断出现,海洋天然物的生物合成和人工合成研究也有新的进展。在海洋生物中,研究得最多的是海藻和海绵,其次便是珊瑚。     

Ishigadine A,a new canthin-6-one alkaloid from an Okinawan marine sponge Hyrtios sp.

A new indole alkaloid with the canthin-6-one skeleton, ishigadine A, has been isolated from an Okinawan marine sponge Hyrtios sp. The structure of ishigadine A was elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analyses. Ishigadine A is a new canthin-6-one alkaloid possessing a hydroxy group, a 1,3-dimethyl-4-methylthioimidazolium, and a 1-propylguanidine. Ishigadine A is the third canthin-6-one alkaloid from sponges. Ishigadine A might be generated from l-arginine, l-histidine, and l-tryptophan. Ishigadine A exhibited moderate cytotoxicity against L1210 murine leukemia cells.     

Preparation of novel chelating sponge as an adsorbent for the removal of Cu~（2＋） from water

The novel chelating sponge modifed with hydroxamic acid groups was prepared by a grafting polymerization followed by a nucleophilic substitution reaction.Elementary analysis,SEM,FT-IR spectroscopy and XPS were used to characterize the spongy adsorbent（PVA-MA-HH）.Adsorption isotherm study indicated that PVA-MA-HH had high equilibrium adsorption capacity for Cu2＋.     

Euryjanicins E–G,poly-phenylalanine,and poly-proline cyclic heptapeptides from the Caribbean sponge Prosuberites laughlini

A new investigation of the active sponge extracts of Prosuberites laughlini collected off the West coast of Puerto Rico has yielded three new cyclic heptapeptides, namely euryjanicins E (1)–G (3), containing multiple phenylalanine and proline residues. In CDCl₃ solution, each euryjanicin F (2) and G (3) exists as an inseparable complex mixture of conformational isomers. The molecular structures of 1–3 were elucidated by a combination of chemical degradation, extensive ESI-MS/MSⁿ analyses, and 2D NMR methods. The elucidation of the absolute configuration was achieved by HPLC following analysis of the acid hydrolysates after derivatization with Marfey's reagent. When assayed against the National Cancer Institute 60 tumor cell line panel, the new cyclic peptides did not display significant in vitro cytotoxicity.
