Burn‐in is a widely used method to improve the quality of products or systems after they have been produced. In this paper, we consider the problem of determining the optimal burn‐in time and optimal work size maximizing the long‐run average amount of work saved per time unit in the computer applications. Assuming that the underlying lifetime distribution of the computer has an initially decreasing or/and eventually increasing failure rate function, an upper bound for the optimal burn‐in time is derived for each fixed work size and a uniform (with respect to the burn‐in time) upper bound for the optimal work size is also obtained. Furthermore, it is shown that a non‐trivial lower bound for the optimal burn‐in time can be derived if the underlying lifetime distribution has a large initial failure rate. CR-39 is a highly sensitive etched track detector for neutron monitoring and dosimetry applications but its dose equivalent response is strongly direction dependent with respect to the incident neutrons. This is considered to be a major drawback for their use. In the present study, an attempt has been made to develop a pyramid shaped dosimeter, which consists of polyethylene material of thickness 1 mm with the provision to hold three CR-39 films at an angle of 35° to each other. The response of CR-39 in this configuration under optimum electrochemical etching at elevated temperature have been found nearly angular independent and therefore the dosimeter can be used for neutron monitoring, i.e. personnel as well as area monitoring. 相似文献

通过BPO引发的溶液聚合 ,合成了水溶性的星状C6 0 苯乙烯 苯乙烯磺酸钠的三元共聚物 [Star shapedC6 0 poly(St SS) ],运用自组装技术 ,在水溶液中 ,含C6 0 的三元共聚物与重氮树脂 (Diazoresin)通过正负离子间的吸附力在云母基片上交替一层一层有序地组装成固体膜 .自组装膜经紫外光幅照反应 ,通过重氮基的分解 ,层间连接的离子键转变成共价键 ,从而增加薄膜的稳定性和堆砌密度 .用原子力显微镜 摩擦力显微镜(AFM FFM)考察了C6 0 在膜中的承载作用及比较不同链结构、不同链长、不同层数自组装膜的表面形貌和微摩擦性能 .初步的研究结果显示了聚合物薄膜的微摩擦性能与聚合物的化学结构、链长和膜的层数有密切关系 相似文献

Our recent extensive research on Lewis acid catalysts with a weak base for the cationic polymerization of vinyl ethers led to unprecedented living reaction systems: fast living polymerization within 1–3 s; a wide choice of metal halides containing Al, Sn, Fe, Ti, Zr, Hf, Zn, Ga, In, Si, Ge, and Bi; and heterogeneously catalyzed living polymerization with Fe2O3. The use of added bases for the stabilization of the propagating carbocation and the appropriate selection of Lewis acid catalysts were crucial to the success of such new types of living polymerizations. In addition, the base‐stabilized living polymerization allowed the quantitative synthesis of star‐shaped polymers with a narrow molecular weight distribution via polymer‐linking reactions and the precision synthesis and self‐assembly of stimuli‐responsive block copolymers. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 应用火焰原子吸收光谱(FAAS)法测定了钮扣电池中铅和镉的含量,对测定条件作了较详细的研究。用在线双毛细管标准加入法消除了基体的干扰。按所述方法测定电池样品中铅和镉,测定结果的RSD依次为3.58%和5.87%,铅和镉的浓度水平分别为5.4×10-3%和2.3×10-4%(质量分数),回收率结果为93.0%~100.1%(铅)和95.0%~101.0%(镉)。 相似文献

The theory of composite chromatographic columns has been re-examined and general equations relating their efficiency to those of individual columns were derived. The derivations were based on elementary principles without reference to the principle of variance additivity. Derived also, were general equations for the efficiency of columns with continuously varying diameters, HETP and other properties from which formulae for special cases of practical interest were deduced. An example comparing the efficiencies of two columns, one conical and the other composite was given. The calculations show clearly that the conical column is superior in efficiency for the same total length and total retention volume. 相似文献

Comb‐shaped graft copolymers with poly(methyl methacrylate) as a handle were synthesized by the macromonomer technique in two steps. First, polytetrahydrofuran acrylate (A‐PTHF), prepared by the living cationic ring‐opening polymerization of tetrahydrofuran, underwent homopolymerization with 1‐(ethoxycarbonyl)prop‐1‐yl dithiobenzoate as an initiator under 60Co γ irradiation at room temperature; Second, the handle of the comb‐shaped copolymers was prepared by the block copolymerization of methyl methacrylate with P(A‐PTHF) as a macroinitiator under 60Co γ irradiation. The two‐step polymerizations were proved to be controlled with the following evidence: the straight line of ln[M]0/[M] versus the polymerization time, the linear increase in the number‐average molecular weight with the conversion, and the relatively narrow molecular weight distribution. The structures of the P(A‐PTHF) and final comb‐shaped copolymers were characterized by 1H NMR spectroscopy and gel permeation chromatography. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
