Water repellency of woven cotton fabric was achieved by coating with the aqueous dispersion containing organosilane agent
(HDTMS) and fumed silica. The coating agents were applied using padding method and then followed by batching the coated fabric
at the ambient temperature for 24 h to allow the condensation reaction between HDTMS silanol group and fumed silica silanol
group, rendering silica particles hydrophobic. An ultrasonicator was employed to prepare the homogenous coating dispersion.
The water repellency evaluated by water contact angle determination which showed the contact angle over 110° was obtained
with low amount of applied HDTMS of 1 wt%. The effect of fumed silica addition on an increase in fiber surface roughness geometry
showed the influential result in improving the water contact angle. From durability to washing test, the hydrophobic coatings
evidenced from SEM and ATR/FTIR remained adhering to fiber surface, indicating the durability. After washing, the coating
on the fabric with fumed silica addition appeared to be scatter particles which made a contribution to the higher contact
angle value when compared to sheet-like layer coating in case of HDTMS coating alone. 相似文献

利用分子自组装技术 ,用含有全氟烷基的氯硅烷作为前驱体 ,在活化玻璃表面制备了二甲基 -γ-全氟辛酰氧丙基硅烷单分子膜 ;用 X射线光电子能谱仪对组装膜表面的几种特征元素及其化学环境进行了表征 ;采用接触角测定仪测定了蒸馏水在自组装薄膜表面的接触角 ,在动静摩擦磨损试验机上评价了薄膜同 GCr1 5钢球对摩时的摩擦磨损性能 .结果表明 :所制备的自组装膜的表面自由能很低 ,具有很好的疏水 -疏油性 ,其对水的接触角高达 1 1 0°;二甲基 -γ-全氟辛酰氧丙基硅烷组装膜可以降低基片的摩擦系数 ,而且在较低负荷下具有很好的耐磨性 相似文献

Improvement of water and oil repellency on wood substrates by using fluorinated silica nanocoating 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
We have investigated a one-step fabrication of fluoro-containing silica coating on wooden substrates, showing multi-functions including super repellency toward water and sunflower oil, low sliding angles, good durability, and low adsorption capacity of moisture. The repellent slurry, consisting of well-mixing silica nanospheres and perfluoroalkyl methacrylic copolymer, is simply prepared and subsequently sprayed over wooden substrates with good adhesion. It has shown that the decoration of silica nanospheres on microscaled wooden texture acts as a crucial role in improving the repellency toward water and sunflower oil droplets. The maximal contact angles can reach as high as 168.3° and 153.6° for water and sunflower oil drops, respectively. These analyses of wetted fraction and work of adhesion also demonstrate the improved repellency due to the addition of silica. This improvement of the repellencies is ascribed to the fact that the drops partially sit on F-coated silica spheres, leaving a layer of air underneath the droplet (i.e., Cassie state). On the basis of the results, the multi-functional coating on wooden substrates delivers a promising commercial feasibility on a variety of woodworks. 相似文献

Two facile coating techniques, gravitational sediment and spin coating, were applied for the creation of silica sphere stacking layers with different textures onto glass substrates that display various sliding abilities toward liquid drops with different surface tensions, ranged from 25.6 to 72.3 mN/m. The resulting silica surface exhibits oil repellency, long-period durability > 30 days, and oil sliding capability. The two-tier texture offers a better roll-off ability toward liquid drops with a wide range of γL, ranged from 30.2 to 72.3 mN/m, i.e., when the sliding angle (SA) < 15°, the oil droplet start to roll off the surface. This improvement of sliding ability can be ascribed to the fact that the two-tier texture allows for air pockets (i.e., referred to as the Cassie state), thus favoring the self-cleaning ability. Taking Young-Duprè equation into account, a linearity relationship between sine SA and work of adhesion (Wad) appears to describe the sliding behavior within the Wad region: 2.20-3.03 mN/m. The smaller Wad, the easier drop sliding (i.e., the smaller SA value) takes place on the surfaces. The Wad value ∼3.03 mN/m shows a critical kinetic barrier for drop sliding on the silica surfaces from stationary to movement states. This work proposes a mathematical model to simulate the sliding behavior of oil drops on a nanosphere stacking layer, confirming the anti-oil contamination capability. 相似文献

Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)-based inorganic/organic hybrids films were prepared on polyimide sheets by the sol-gel method using silanol-terminated PDMS and titanium tetraisopropoxide as starting materials. The effect of heat-treatment temperature on the surface property of the hybrid films was examined in terms of contact angle of water and Tapping-Mode Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). AFM phase images showed the presence of domains, 200–500 nm in size, on the surface of these films after heat-treatment below 300°C. These regions were more hydrophilic than the rest of the area. The domains disappeared at 300°C and the surface became homogeneous surface of the peak to valley value, about 10 nm. It is also uniformly hydrophobic and a maximum contact angle (about 115°C) was obtained. 相似文献

Phenethyl isothiocyanate isolated from Armoracia rusticana root oil and its derivatives were tested at different doses in a bioassay designed to evaluate repellency against individual Haemaphysalis longicornis nymphs. Among the tested compounds, benzyl isothiocyanate exhibited repellency against H. longicornis nymphs at the lowest dose of 0.00625 mg/cm2, followed by phenethyl isothiocyanate (0.0125 mg/cm2) and phenyl isothiocyanate (0.025 mg/cm2). The behavioral responses of H. longicornis nymphs exposed to benzyl isothiocyanate and phenethyl isothiocyanate indicated that the mode of action of these compounds can be mainly attributed to the vapor phase. Encapsulated benzyl isothiocyanate showed repellency up to 120 min post-application at 0.1 mg/cm2, whereas pure benzyl isothiocyanate showed repellency up to 60 min post-application at 0.1 mg/cm2. The present study suggests that benzyl isothiocyanate is a potential repellent for protection against H. longicornis nymphs, and encapsulation in yeast cells may enhance the repellency effect. 相似文献

Polyester fabric is treated with DCDMS solution by two methods: dipping the fabric directly in DCDMS solution for different
intervals and dipping the fabric in DCDMS solution after its exposure into RF plasma chamber for different durations at optimized
exposure power conditions. The physical properties of polyester fabric treated with DCDMS in the presence or absence of air
plasma have been compared with control fabric. Different characterization techniques like scanning electron microscope, attenuated
total reflectance-IR and Dataflash 100 colour measurement spectrophotometer are used to assess the surface morphology, composition
and change in colour parameters. Water repellency property of both untreated and modified polyester fabric is studied using
AATCC test method 39 (1971). The effectiveness of the water repellency property of modified polyester fabric is checked by
repeated washing up to ten cycles.
