New unsymmetrical difluoroaromatic compounds and estimation of their reactivities in nucleophilic substitution

A series of previously unknown unsymmetrical difluoroaromatic compounds, viz., p-fluorobenzoylphenyl(p-fluorophenyl)-substituted imidazoles, pyrazines, and quinoxalines, were synthesized according to multistep procedures with the use of chloral as the key compound. The reactivities of the resulting difluoroaromatic compounds were estimated based on ¹⁹F and ¹³C NMR spectral data and the results of quantum-chemical calculations. The calculated charge densities on the C_ipso atoms correlate linearly with the experimental chemical shifts in the ¹⁹F and ¹³C NMR spectra. Difluoroaromatic compounds, which are characterized by _F > –110 and _C > 163 and by the charge density on the C_ipso atom higher than 0.08 e, are sufficiently activated to be used for the preparation of high-molecular-weight polyethers.

A series of previously unreported aldehydes has been prepared by the formylation reaction of dipyrrolo[1,2-a;2':,1'-c]pyrazines and their 5,6-dihydro analogs by DMF and phosphorus oxychloride.     

Prediction of the retention indices of methyl pyridines and pyrazines in capillary gas chromatography based on the non-linear additivity of the sorption energy

Summary Methylbenzenes, pyridines and pyrazines were investigated on fused-silica and glass capillary columns coated with SE-30 and PEG-40M/KF liquid phases, at two temperatures, 80° and 110°C. The contribution of the methylene groups to the partial molar free sorption energy was determined for methylpyridines and pyrazines. Equations are proposed for the calculation of the retention indices of methyl pyridines and pyrazines. These equations are based on the ortho- and α-effects of the methyl groups. The predicted indices have been experimentally tested for six dimethyl- and trimethylpyridines, and four methylpyrazines. Good accuracy of the calculation permits to use this method for the identification of methylpyridines and pyrazines in complex mixtures. We have studied the behavior of asymmetrically substituted dipyrrolo[1,2-a;2',1'-c]pyrazines and their 5,6-dihydro analogs under phosphorylation reaction conditions.     

Synthesis and Biological Activity of Some New Pyrazolo[3,4‐b]Pyrazines

New derivatives of pyrazolo[3,4‐b]pyrazine and related heterocycles were prepared starting from 6‐amino‐3‐methyl‐1‐phenyl‐1H‐pyrazolo[3,4‐b]pyrazine‐5‐carbonitrile ( 2 ) and using the key intermediates 4 , 5 , 6 , 14 , 15 and 16 . Some of the prepared compounds were evaluated for their antifungal and antibacterial activities.     

Coordination and extraction properties of new bis- and tetrakis(diphenylphosphoryl)-substituted pyrazines towards f-block elements

2,3-Bis- and 2,3,5,6-tetrakis(diphenylphosphoryl)-substituted pyrazines have been synthesized from the corresponding polychloropyrazines and ethyl diphenylphosphinite. They may serve as new N,O-bidentate organophosphorus ligands for extraction and recovery of f-block metal ions from nitric acid solutions.     

A convenient one-pot synthesis of N-fused 1,2,4-triazoles via oxidative cyclization using chromium (VI) oxide

A facile one-pot synthesis of N-fused 1,2,4-triazoles from heterocyclic hydrazines and aldehydes is reported. The reaction is efficiently promoted by chromium (VI) oxide to afford the desired products mostly in high yields and in relatively short time. The high yield of the products and short reaction time are notable advantages of the developed protocol. This protocol is effective toward various substrates having different functionalities.     

New use of bis(benzotriazolyl)-1,2-(dialkylamino)ethanes for the synthesis of 2-H-3-dialkylamino imidazo[1,2-a]pyrazine derivatives

First direct synthesis of 2-H-3-N-dialkyl-imidazo[1,2-a]pyrazines is described. This approach makes use of accessible substituted pyrazines and the assistance of benzotriazole. In such a manner we accomplished the introduction of cyclic amines at C-3 of the scaffold in a convenient formal cyclisation procedure. Detailed examples and utility of this approach are presented herein.     

Aza-Wittig reaction of N-phosphorylalkyl phosphazenes with carbonyl compounds and phenylisocyanate. Synthesis of 4-amino-3-phosphoryl-2-azadienes and pyrazine-phosphonates

Simple and functionalized N-phosphorylalkyl imines and N-phosphorylalkyl-N′-phenyl-carbodiimides are obtained by aza-Wittig reaction of phosphazenes derived from aminophosphonates with carbonyl compounds and phenyl isocyanate. The reaction with dimethylformamide diethyl acetal (DMF-DEA) of these functionalized imines leads to the synthesis of 4-amino-3-phosphoryl-2-azadienes. N-Phosphorylmethyl imine derived from benzaldehyde can be used for the preparation of substituted pyrrole-phosphonates, while acid treatment of 4-dimethylamino-3-diethylphosphoryl-1-phenyl-2-azadiene gives diethyl 5-diethylphosphorylpyrazin-2-ylphosphonate.     

Unusual scission of 3,7-dichlorobisisothiazolo[4,5-b:4",5"-e]pyrazine by nucleophiles

The reaction of 3,7-dichlorobisisothiazolo[4,5-b:4",5"-e]pyrazine with MeONa in MeOH afforded 3-chloro-5,6-dimethoxyisothiazolo[4,5-b]pyrazine. The reactions of the former with benzylamine, morpholine, and aniline gave rise to the corresponding N,N"-bis(5-amino-3-chloroisothiazol-4-yl)diazenes. In the case of benzylamine, 3,7-bis(benzylamino)bisisothiazolo[4,5-b:4",5"-e]pyrazine was isolated as a by-product. The crystal structure of N,N"-bis(5-benzylamino-3-chloroisothiazol-4-yl)diazene was established by X-ray diffraction analysis.
