The characterization of the clusters formed on alkaline hydrolysis of [PdCl4]2– was performed using17O,23Na,35Cl,133Cs NMR and UV spectroscopy. The chemical composition of the clusters was found to be [Pd(OH)2] n ·nNaCl. No mononuclear oxo- or hydroxocomplexes were detected. When nitrated polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (NPAH) were recognised as long‐term toxic compounds and were also identified in several anthropogenic emissions and among the by‐products of photochemical smog they became objects of investigation in ambient air in both polluted and clean environments. In Italy the first investigations focussing on atmospheric NPAH were performed in the early eighties and encompassed both the canyon streets and dwelling areas of Rome. Because NPAH were indicated as markers of vehicle emission, new investigations were performed in other cities and also in rural and (nominally) unpolluted locations. In general, the first measurements of NPAH were episodic and could not be assumed to be strictly representative of the sites investigated. In contrast, nowadays consistent data bases on NPAH have been built up and are discussed in the technical literature, so that both neat concentrations and the yearly timed variation of the most important NPAH congeners have been measured in Italian air. Although concentrations of NPAH in air are usually much lower than those of PAH, owing to their very high potency in inducing mutations and tumours NPAH are regarded as having an important health impact on populations living in Italian urban areas. In this regard the genotoxicity of atmospheric aerosols is partly associated with nitrofluoranthenes and nitropyrenes whereas nitronaphthalenes and methylnitronaphthalenes seem to contribute to that of the gaseous organic fraction. Several civic and regional administrations are introducing control of atmospheric NPAH among ways of improving air quality in cities.  相似文献

The structure of polynuclear PdII hydroxocomplexes (PHC) formed as a result of alkaline hydrolysis of PdII chloride complexes was studied by EXAFS, SAXS, and TEM methods. It is established that in aqueous solutions a hydroxocomplex particle is a filament curled into a ball containing about 100 Pd atoms. The filament consists of planar coordination squares of PdO4 units linkedvia one or two oxygen bridges of different geometry. Aging of samples results in an increase in the number of single bridging ligands and a decrease in the diameter of particles. The application of theoretical methods based on the density functional theory with hybrid functionals provides good estimates of the exchange coupling constants for polynuclear transition metal complexes. The accuracy is similar to that previously obtained for dinuclear compounds. We present test calculations on simple model systems based on H. He and CH(2). He units to compare with Hartree-Fock and multiconfigurational results. Calculations for complete, nonmodeled polynuclear transition metal complexes yield coupling constants in very good agreement with available experimental data.  相似文献

The crystal of [Ni(dien)2]2[Mn(NCS)6]·H2O was synthesized and the structure of its single crystal was determined by X-ray diffraction. The crystal is monoclinic system, space group P21/c with a=16.544(3),b=15.137(2), c=17.334(3)?, β=99.90(1)°, V=4276.3(12)?3, Z=4, Dc=1.479g·cm-3, Mr=951.55, F(000)=1998, μ=1.489mm-1, R=0.0399, Rw=0.0958. Following a bottom-up approach to nanomaterials, we present a rational synthetic route to high-spin and anisotropic molecules based on hexacyanometalate [M(CN)(6)](3-) cores. Part 1 of this series was devoted to isotropic heptanuclear clusters; herein, we discuss the nuclearity and the structural anisotropy of nickel(II) derivatives. By changing either the stoichiometry, the nature of the terminal ligand, or the counterion, it is possible to tune the nuclearity of the polynuclear compounds and therefore to control the structural anisotropy. We present the synthesis and the characterisation by mass spectrometry, X-ray crystallography and magnetic susceptibility of bi-, tri-, tetra-, hexa- and heptanuclear species [M(CN)(n)(CN-M'L)(6-n)](m+) (with n=0-5; M=Cr(III), Co(III), M'=Ni(II); L=pentadentate ligand). Thus, with M=Cr(III), d(3), S=3/2, a dinuclear complex [Cr(III)(CN)(5)(CN-NiL(n))](9+), (L(n)=polydentate ligand) was built and characterised, showing a spin ground state, S(G)=5/2, with a ferromagnetic interaction J(Cr,Cu)=+18.5 cm(-1). With M=Co(III) (d(6), S=0) were built di-, tri-, tetra-, hexa and hepanuclear CoNi species: CoNi, CoNi(2), CoNi(3), CoNi(5) and CoNi(6). By a first approximation, they behave as one, two, three, five and six isolated nickel(II) complexes, respectively, but more accurate studies allow us to evaluate the weak antiferromagnetic coupling constant between two next-nearest neighbours M'-Co-M'.  相似文献

A single molecular heterobimetallic complex, [Co2Ti(μ3‐O)(TFA)6(THF)3] (1) [TFA = trifluoroacetate, THF = tetrahydrofuran], was synthesized, structurally and spectroscopically characterized and implemented as a single‐source precursor for the preparation of CoTiO3–CoO composite thin films by aerosol‐assisted chemical vapour deposition (AACVD). The precursor complex was prepared by interaction of Co(OAc)2.4H2O [OAc = (CH3COO?)] with Ti(iso‐propoxide)4 in the presence of trifluoroacetic acid in THF, and was analysed by melting point, CHN, FT‐IR, single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction and thermogravimetric analysis. The precursor complex thermally decomposed at 480 °C to give a residual mass corresponding to a CoTiO3–CoO composite material. Good‐quality crystalline CoTiO3–CoO composite thin films deposited at 500 °C by AACVD and characterized through powder X‐ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy/energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy show that the crystallites have a rose‐flower‐like morphology with an average petal size in the range of 2–6 µm. The side-on-end-on coordination of N2 can be very important to activate and functionalize this very stable molecule. However, such coordination has rarely been reported. This study reports a gas-phase species (a polynuclear vanadium nitride cluster anion [V5N5]) that can capture N2 efficiently (12 %), and the quantum chemistry modelling suggests an unusual side-on-end-on coordination. The cluster anions were generated by laser ablation and the reaction with N2 has been characterized by mass spectrometry, photoelectron imaging spectroscopy, and density functional theory calculations. The back-donation interactions between the localized d–d bonding orbitals on the low-coordinated dual metal (V) sites and the antibonding π* orbitals of N2 are the driving forces to adsorb N2 with a high binding energy (about 2.0 eV).  相似文献
