Oligo(phenylcobaltcarbonylsilane) was prepared from oligo(phenylsilane) and dicobalt octacarbonyl. The reaction proceeds with elimination of H2 and CO and insertion of cobalt carbonyl fragments into the silicone backbone of oligosilane. Oligosilane containing cobalt carbonyl groups in side organic substituents was obtained from oligolmethyl(phenylethynyl)Isilane and CO2(CO)8. The reaction of 1,2-bis(phenylethyny1)tetramethyldisilane with Co2(CO)8 proceeds with the sequential attachment of cobalt carbonyl fragments to ethynyl groups to form disilane derivatives [2-CCPhCo2(CO)6] Thermal decomposition of cobalt-containing oligosilanes affords a mixture of paramagnets and ferromagnets.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. Hydrolysis of 1,2-dimethyl-1,2-diphenyl-1,2-dichlorodisilane yields 1,2-dimethyl-1,2diphenyldisilane-1,2-diol, which undergoes dimerization into stereoisomeric 2,3,5,6-tetramethyl-2,3,5,6-tetraphenyl-1,4-dioxa-2,3,5,6-tetrasilacyclohexanes under the action of H2SO4. Pure all-trans-isomer has been isolated and characterized by1H NMR and IR spectroscopy and X-ray analysis. The reaction of sodium disilanediolate with FeBr2 results in the formation of 1,2-dimethyl-1,2-diphenyl-4-ferra(ii)-3,5-dioxa-1,2-disilacyclopentane.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. Reactions of Cl2MeSiSiMeCl2 with RMgCl make it possible to obtain and isolate pure disilanes containing a smaller number of functional groups, namely, RMeClSiSiMeCl2 (R = Ph), RMeClSiSiMeRCl (R = Pri, Ph), and R2MeSiSiMeRCl (R = Bui). The reaction of Cl2MeSiSiMeCl2 with BunMgCl is the least selective. The chlorides obtained were reduced with LiAlH4 into the corresponding hydrides.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk.
