The excess volume of mixing of some electron-donating aromatic hydrocarbons like benzene, toluene,p-xylene, and mesitylene with an electronaccepting liquid 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene have been measured at 30°C. The results indicate that the interaction between the components increases as the electron-donating power of the hydrocarbons increases. The V m e values are related to the ionization potentials of the hydrocarbons.  相似文献

We studied the temperature dependence of the light yield of linear alkyl benzene(LAB)-based and mesitylene-based liquid scintillators. The light yield increases by 23% for both liquid scintillators when the temperature is lowered from 26 to-40, correcting for the temperature response of the photomultiplier tube. The measurements help to understand the energy response of liquid scintillator detectors. Especially, the next generation reactor neutrino experiments for neutrino mass hierarchy, such as the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO), require very high energy resolution. As no apparent degradation on the liquid scintillator transparency was observed, lowering the operation temperature of the detector to ~4 will increase the photoelectron yield of the detector by 13%, combining the light yield increase of the liquid scintillator and the quantum efficiency increase of the photomultiplier tubes.  相似文献

The conductivity of a single aromatic ring, perpendicular to its plane, is determined using a new strategy under ambient conditions and at room temperature by a combination of molecular assembly, scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) imaging, and STM break junction (STM‐BJ) techniques. The construction of such molecular junctions exploits the formation of highly ordered structures of flat‐oriented mesitylene molecules on Au(111) to enable direct tip/π contacts, a result that is not possible by conventional methods. The measured conductance of Au/π/Au junction is about 0.1 Go , two orders of magnitude higher than the conductance of phenyl rings connected to the electrodes by standard anchoring groups. Our experiments suggest that long‐range ordered structures, which hold the aromatic ring in place and parallel to the surface, are essential to increase probability of the formation of orientation‐controlled molecular junctions.  相似文献

Enthalpies of mixing of isopropyl ether with cyclohexane, benzene, mesitylene, ethylbenzene, toluene and p-xylene were determined at 27°C and were found to decrease in the same order as the second components listed. The results are compared with Flory's state theory.  相似文献

Infrared and Raman spectra of mesitylene complexes of chromium, molybdenum and tungsten tricarbonyls have been studied. Bands have been assigned and intesities calculated for a number of important modes. The intensities are related to the polarities and polarizabilities of individual bonds within the molecules. Variations of bond properties with change of metal M in the (η6-mesitylene)M(CO)3 complexes have been examined. The results are interpreted in terms of the relative importance of π-donation from the arene to the metal and of δ-backbonding. A molecular orbital scheme is proposed which accounts for the changes observed in the degree of π-and δ-bonding within the group of complexes studied.  相似文献

The polymerization regulators mesitylene and 1,3,5‐trimethoxybenzene were investigated as suitable substitutes for benzene in the cobalt(II) octanoate/diethylaluminum chloride/water‐catalyzed polymerization of 1,3‐butadiene to high cis‐1,4‐polybutadiene. The propagation rates were reduced by 50% with the inclusion of 18 mM mesitylene or 0.17 mM trimethoxybenzene. Mesitylene was found to be an inefficient polymerization regulator because it reduced the propagation rate by a combination of regulation and destruction of the active catalyst complex. Not only did trimethoxybenzene reduce the propagation rate by effective regulation at low concentration, it also increased the percentage activity of cobalt to 200%, indicating that two polymer chains were propagating simultaneously from each active center. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. π-Complexes of Heavy Metals. X. Synthesis and Crystal Structure of {[(1,3,5-(CH3)3C6H3)2Tl][AlCl4]}2: an Arene Stabilized Dimeric Thallium(I) Tetrachloroaluminate From a solution of AlCl3 and TlCl in mesitylene, the bis(arene)thallium complex {[(1,3,5-(CH3)3C6H3)2Tl][AlCl4]}2 ( 1 ) (space group P21/c with a = 19.575(4) Å, b = 12.436(2) Å, c = 19.415(4) Å, β = 101.69(3)° at T = ?90 ± 1°C; Z = 4) will crystallize at low temperature. This compound can be described as a dimeric thallium(I) tetrachloroaluminate with a sceleton similar to that of (TeI4)4, shielded by four arenes, in pairs coordinated at the thallium atoms. In the solid state the complete configuration has point group symmetry 1 (C1). Tl? Cl distances ranging from 3.292(3) to 3.679(3) Å point out an ionic bonding situation between arene2Tl+ and AlCl4? fragments. The strengths of the η6 like Tl-arene interactions are characterized by distances Tl(1)–C of 3.250 Å and 3.315 Å, and Tl(2)? C of 3.285 Å and 3.328 Å and a temperature of release of all arene molecules of 61°C, which has been determined by differential thermal analysis, to yield pure thallium(I) tetrachloroaluminate.  相似文献

Reaction of Ndcl3 with AlCl3 and mesitylene in benzene gives complex [Nd(η6‐1, 3, 5‐C6H3Me3)‐(AlCl4)3](C6H6) (1) which was characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, MS and X‐ray diffractions. The X‐ray determination indicates that 1 has a distorted pentagonal bipyramidal geometry and crystallizes in the monoclinic, space group P21/n with a = 0.9586(2), b = 1.1717(5), c = 2.8966(7) nm, β = 90.85 (2)°, V = 3.2529 (6) nm3,Dc= 1.573 g/cm3, Z = 4. A comparison of bond parameters for all the reported Ln (η6‐Ar) (AlCl4)3 complexes indicates that the bond distance of La? C is shortened with the increasing of methyl group on benzene and with the decreasing of radius of lanthanide ions.  相似文献

以1,3,5-三甲苯为原料,用硝酸和醋酸的混酸在5℃下乙酸酐溶液中对其硝化生成2,4,6-三甲基硝基苯(1),收率为90.6%。化合物1由铁粉和盐酸在水、乙醇混合溶剂中进行还原得到2,4,6-三甲基苯胺(2),收率为80.27%。将化合物2制备为盐酸重氮盐(3)后滴加到新制的甲醛肟中反应,浓缩得到2,4,6-三甲基苯甲醛(4),收率为52%。目标化合物结构经质谱、核磁氢谱确证,总收率37.82%,纯度98%。  相似文献
