A novel method is described for the preparation of nanocomposites comprising a high performance rubber for tire application and layered silicates clay. In this work nanocomposites of solution‐styrene butadiene rubber (S‐SBR) with montmorillonite layered silicate were prepared with carboxylated nitrile rubber (XNBR), a polar rubber, as a compatibilizer. A sufficient amount of organomodified layered silicate was loaded in carboxylated nitrile rubber (XNBR) and this compound was blended as a master batch in the S‐SBR. Mixed intercalated/exfoliated morphologies in the nanocomposite are evinced by X‐ray diffraction measurements and transmission electron microscopy. Dynamic mechanical analysis also supports the compatibility of the composites. A good dispersion of the layered silicate in the S‐SBR matrix was reflected from the physical properties of the nanocomposites, especially in terms of tensile strength and high elongation properties.  相似文献

A disposable paper-based sensor (PBS) is described for the determination of Cu(II) in natural and waste waters at approximately 2 cents per measurement. The device makes use of a polymer inclusion membrane (PIM) to provide the selectivity for Cu(II). The PIM consists of 40 wt% di(2-ethlyhexyl) phosphoric acid (D2EHPA) as the carrier, 10 wt% dioctyl phthalate (DOP) as a plasticizer, 49.5 wt% poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) as the base polymer and 0.5 wt% (m m−1) 1-(2′-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol (PAN) as the colourimetric reagent. High selectivity under mildly acidic conditions (HCl, pH 2.0) is achieved for Cu(II) in the presence of frequently encountered metal ions in natural and waste waters such as Fe(III), Al(III), Zn(II), Cd(II), Pb(II), Ca(II), Mg(II), and Ni(II).  相似文献

A single piston capillary rheometer was modified by the addition of a second chamber with a restricting valve (developed at the Polymer Centre, Zlín, Czech Republic), which provides backpressure and increasing the pressure in the melted material during the flow through the die. The Carreau–Yasuda model was employed to fit the measured viscosity data and determine the temperature and pressure coefficients for polyolefin based binder and its compounds with carbide powder. Both temperature and pressure sensitivity coefficients are largely dependent on the structure of a polymer, which should be taken into account for binder-formation’s development. Increasing the loading level of the powder in the compound diminishes the pressure sensitivity of their flow properties.  相似文献

Carboxylated nitrile butadiene rubber (XNBR)–based nanocomposites with varying amounts of nanokaolin were produced by latex stage mixing. Sonication of the unmodified kaolin and the technique adopted for the preparation of the composite have helped to get a uniform dispersion of clay in XNBR matrix. Nanokaolin caused enhancement in the mechanical properties of the composites. Proper dispersion of the clay particles, partial exfoliation/intercalation of clay, and interaction of clay with the polar rubber latex made nanokaolin good reinforcing filler in XNBR latex. Swelling studies conducted in methyl ethyl ketone showed a decrease in the swelling index and solvent uptake confirming the hindrance exerted by clay and the possible clay–rubber interaction. Increase in complex modulus obtained from the strain sweep analysis is a further evidence for better rubber filler interaction. The composites were characterized by the scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis, and atomic force microscopy.  相似文献

As in the case of reinforcing filler-induced increase in hysteresis in rubbers, placement of aluminum (A1) foil to the surface of a rubber blend of epichlorohydrin rubber and carboxylated nitrile base induces increased hysteresis of the rubber due to adhesion between Al and the rubber blend. Changes in hysteresis loss due to Al foil can be correlated with the peel strength of Al-rubber-Al joints. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Cross‐linked polymers of intrinsic microporosity (PIM)s for gas separation membranes, were prepared by a nitrene reaction from a representative PIM in the presence of two different diazide cross‐linkers. The reaction temperature was optimized using TGA. The homogenous membranes were cast from THF solutions of different ratios of PIM to azides. The resulting cross‐linked structures of the PIMs membranes were formed at 175 °C after 7.5 h and confirmed by TGA, XPS, FT‐IR spectroscopy and gel content analysis. These resulting cross‐linked polymeric membranes showed excellent gas separation performance and can be used for O2/N2 and CO2/N2 gas pairs, as well as for condensable gases, such as CO2/CH4, propylene/propane separation. Most importantly, and differently from typical gas separation membranes derived from glassy polymers, the crosslinked PIMs showed no obvious CO2 plasticization up to 20 atm pressure of pure CO2 and CO2/CH4 mixtures.

A series of metalized C-PIM-M (M = Na+, Mg2+, Al3+, PIMs = polymers of intrinsic microporosity) materials were prepared from a carboxyl-functionalized PIM (C-PIMs). The C-PIM-Na exhibited a high CO2 adsorption capacity of 2.44 mmol/g and extreme low CH4 uptake of 0.28 mmol/g at 273 K and 101 kPa among three metallated PIMs. It showed remarkably high CO2/CH4 and CO2/N2 selectivities at both 273 and 293 K due to an advantageous pore-blocking effect of Na+ cation.  相似文献

为适应快速增长的转基因生物(GMOs)安全评价与管理的需求,高效、可靠的转基因检测技术研究与应用的重要性日益凸显。该文采用一步法合成了羧基化聚吡咯(cPPy)与氯化血红素(Hemin)的纳米复合物(cPPy-hemin),并以其为信号标签合成了一种DNA双链结构功能化的纳米信标(DNA-cPPy-hemin)。利用cPPy-hemin增强的模拟酶催化活性,结合点触发链置换反应(TSDR)信号放大策略,制备了一种新型电化学基因传感器用于转基因成分的灵敏检测。通过信号探针(Ps)与模板链(Ts)、辅助链(As)结合形成DNA双链体结构中的-NH2功能化cPPy-hemin,制备Ts/As/Ps-cPPy-hemin双链DNA结构的纳米信标。在目标花椰菜花叶病毒35S启动子(CaMV35S)序列和燃料链(Fs)存在下,TSDR过程释放出的Ps-cPPy-hemin与固定在电化学沉积金纳米粒子修饰GCE表面上巯基化的DNA捕获探针(Cs)相结合,利用cPPy-hemin对H2O2的模拟酶催化产生的电信号,可实现对CaMV35S的定量检测。在最优条件下...  相似文献

Among many presumed-shape pdf approaches for modeling non-premixed turbulent combustion, the presumed β-function pdf is widely used in the literature. However, numerical integration of the β-function pdf may encounter singularity difficulties at mixture fraction values of Z = 0 or 1. To date, this issue has been addressed by few publications. The present study proposes the Piecewise Integration Method (PIM), an efficient, robust and accurate algorithm to overcome these numerical difficulties with the added benefit of improving computational efficiency. Comparison of this method to the existing numerical integration methods shows that the PIM exhibits better accuracy and greatly increases computational efficiency. The PIM treatment of the β-function pdf integration is first applied to the Burke–Schumann solution in conjunction with the k − ε turbulence model to simulate a CH4/H2 bluff-body turbulent flame. The proposed new method is then applied to the same flow using a more complex combustion model, the laminar flamelet model. Numerical predictions obtained by using the proposed β-function pdf integration method are compared to experimental values of the velocity field, temperature and species mass fractions to illustrate the efficiency and accuracy of the present method.  相似文献
