This paper presents the importance and usage of natural zeolites, which was recently recognized in the industry. Therefore, the grinding properties of natural zeolite were studied with the emphasis on a kinetic study in a ball mill. The experimental mill employed was laboratory sized, 200 mm diameter, 191 mm length, providing a total mill volume of 6000 cm3, with a total mass of 5.62 kg of steel balls of 25 mm diameter with a charge of 20% of the mill volume and with a rotation speed of 76 rpm. The breakage parameters were determined by using single sized feed fractions of ?850+600 μm, ?600+425 μm, and ?425+300 μm for the zeolite samples. The Si (specific rate of breakage) and Bi, j (primary breakage distribution) values were obtained for those feed size fractions in order to predict the product size distributions by simulation for comparison to the experimental data. From the experimental results, Si values increased as the feed sizes became coarser, i.e., the highest Si value was 0.85 min?1 for ?850+600 μm, while the lowest Si value was 0.65 min?1 for ?425+300 μm feed ground in the mill. The Bi, j values obtained for the zeolite sample were γ=0.84, ?=0.61, and β=4.25. The breakage parameters obtained showed that the zeolite is broken faster than quartz and slower than calcite and barite in terms of the aT values reported previously at the same experimental conditions. The simulations of the product size distributions of zeolite were in good agreement with the experimental data using a standard ball mill simulation program. The slowing‐down effect was also seen in the mill after 4 min. of grinding.  相似文献

In proportion to the environmental pollution problems caused by organotin compounds, the genotoxicities of tin compounds in the environments have become of interest so as to estimate their safety in recent years. In this work, isolated λ-DNA (double-strand DNA) was incubated with inorganic tin(II) and tin(IV) and five organotin compounds [n-butyltin trichloride, di(n-butyltin) dichloride, methyltin trichloride, dimethyltin dichloride and trimethyltin chloride] in reaction systems both with and without hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) content. The tin compounds tested in this study did not induce DNA breakage in the absence of hydrogen peroxide. Divalent inorganic tin (SnCl2) and tetravalent inorganic tin (SnCl4) caused DNA breakage in the presence of hydrogen peroxide (10 mM), and the DNA damage activity of inorganic tin was much more potent in divalent inorganic tin (SnCl2) than in tetravalent inorganic tin (SnCl4). Divalent inorganic tin (SnCl2) induced DNA breakage in a concentration-dependent fashion at concentrations greater than 0.1 mM of SnCl2 in the presence of hydrogen peroxide (10 mM). DNA breakage was not caused by n-butyltin compounds and methyltin compounds either in the presence or in the absence of hydrogen peroxide.  相似文献

The demulsifying of crude-oil emulsion by different demulsifying agents is discussed. The breakage of the crude oil emulsions from the well PO11 by the different types and concentrations of the emulsifying agents is also discussed. 分别以市售的Fe2O3、MgO和CaO为催化剂,对十氯联苯(CB209)进行了催化降解研究.结果表明,MgO对CB209的降解具有较高的活性.在反应温度为300℃,反应时间为60 min时,MgO对CB209的降解效率达到98.9%.进一步研究表明,MgO催化降解CB209的动力学符合准一级动力学反应.通过GC-MS和GC-ECD,并结合衍生化实验,检测到九氯联苯、五氯苯和四氯苯、五氯苯酚、四氯苯酚和三氯苯酚等降解产物,进而推测出MgO催化降解CB209的过程中存在相互竞争的反应路径:氧化反应、碳碳桥键断裂和加氢脱氯.  相似文献

Interactions between monolayers of trilaurylamine (TLA) and various water-soluble corrosion, hydrate and scale inhibitors, as well as acetic acid and FeCl2, have been studied by means of the Langmuir technique, The water-soluble compounds were present in the subphase before TLA was spread. Their influence on the monolayer properties were measured by means of surface pressure-area ( k-A) isotherms and constant surface pressure-area relaxation measurements. All the added water soluble species gave rise to monolayer expansion. The monolayer expansion observed for TLA at pH 1, increased when FeCl2 was added to the subphase at the same pH. Polyethyleneglycols with molecular weight higher than 200 destabilized totally the TLA-monolayer, probably due to bending and folding into multilayers. Monolayer expansion and film instability increased with increased acetic acid concentrations. The destabilization mechanism in this case was most likely due to a combination of nucleation and dissolution of film components into the subphase. In order to increase the present understanding of bimodal emulsion drop size distributions, systematic series of experiments have been carried out to investigate the effects of formulation variables on bimodal drop size distributions, and probability distribution functions were proposed to analyze the distribution. The results show that, the span of the drop size and Sauter mean diameter become larger when the dispersed phase volume fraction becomes higher and rotor speed becomes lower; the Frechet function represents the experimental data satisfactorily. The prediction model of Sauter mean diameter established by combining the prediction theory of the maximum stable drop diameter and experimental analysis results can fit the experimental data well.  相似文献

The Reynolds averaged N-S equation and dynamic equation for nanoparticles are numerically solved in the two-phase flow around cylinders, and the distributions of the concentration M0 and geometric mean diameter dg of particles are given. Some of the results are validated by comparing with previous results. The effects of particle coagulation and breakage and the initial particle concentration m00 and size d0 on the particle distribution are analyzed. The results show that for the flow around a single cylinder, M0 is reduced along the flow direction. Placing a cylinder in a uniform flow will promote particle breakage. For the flow around multiple cylinders, the values of M0 behind the cylinders oscillate along the spanwise direction, and the wake region in the flow direction is shorter than that for the flow around a single cylinder. For the initial monodisperse particles, the values of dg increase along the flow direction and the effect of particle coagulation is larger than that of particle breakage. The values of dg fluctuate along the spanwise direction; the closer to the cylinders, the more frequent the fluctuations of dg values. For the initial polydisperse particles with d0 = 98 nm and geometric standard deviation σ = 1.65, the variations of dg values along the flow and spanwise directions show the same trend as for the initial monodisperse particles, although the differences are that the values of dg are almost the same for the cases with and without considering particle breakage, while the distribution of dg along the spanwise direction is flatter in the case with initial polydisperse particles.  相似文献

Huge amounts of produced water are generated in offshore oil production. The Compact Flotation Unit (CFU) is an excellent pretreatment technology of produced water with high separation efficiency, low residence, and small split ratio. The Computational Fluid Dynamics-population balance model (CFD-PBM) method is used in the present work to study the oil–water separation characteristics in the self-developed Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology Compact Flotation Unit (BIPTCFU) at both micro-scale and macro-scale, which would help us gain more insights into the mechanism and the influence of flow field on the oil–water separation process such as the oil droplets’ diameter distribution and separation efficiency. The effects of the inlet diameter, the height of the preliminary separation zone, and the width of the annular space on the oil–water separation characteristics of CFU were discussed systematically. It is illustrated that the appropriate increase of inlet velocity, decrease of annular gap width, and increase of the height in the preliminary separation zone can effectively promote the collision and coalescence process of oil droplets. However, the overlarge height of the preliminary separation zone and the too narrow width of the annular space will both have a significant negative effect on the migration and separation of oil and water and lead to the decrease of separation efficiency.  相似文献

The particle size distribution of fine chemicals in the solid state, like active pharmaceutical ingredients, is often a critical parameter. To achieve the desired particle size distribution, milling of such materials is usually the method of choice. Since these chemicals are often scarcely available, experimental optimization of milling is not possible. Therefore, a model to predict the milling conditions has been developed. The model estimates the rate of breakage function, and needs mechanical properties like hardness and yield strength as input to calculate the rate of breakage function. This paper attempts to check the validity of the model by a series of experiments. A comparison of the experimental results with the outcomes of the model using five different model compounds has been performed. It appears that the rate of breakage function can be estimated by: The model is able to rank the compounds by degree of fracture as an effect of milling. It was also possible to perform a quantitative prediction of the impact of milling pressure on the milling behavior. Finally, it appeared that the prediction of the large particles in the distribution was significantly better than small ones. Because the oversized material is usually the most critical parameter, the conclusion is that the model has acceptable practical applicability.  相似文献

A mechanical separation process in a de-oiling hydrocyclone is described in which disperse oil droplets are separated from a continuous water phase. This separation process is influenced by droplet breakage and coalescence. Based on experimental data and simulation results in a stirred tank, a modified breakage model, which can be applied to droplet breakage in the de-oiling hydrocyclone, is developed. Then, a simulation model is developed coupling the numerical solution of the flow field in the hydrocyclone based on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) with population balances. The homogenous discrete method and the inhomogeneous discrete method are applied for solving the population balance model (PBM). The investigations show that the numerical results obtained by the simulation model coupled with the modified PBM using the inhomogeneous discrete method are in good accordance with experimental data under a high flow rate. According to this simulation model, the effect of three different inlet designs on the separation efficiency of the de-oiling hydrocyclone has been discussed. The results indicate that the separation efficiency of the de-oiling hydrocyclone can be improved with an appropriate inlet design.  相似文献
