Helicate tris(aryl)carbinolates bearing pendant NR2 donors – a new family of supporting ligands for the synthesis of Sc3+ alkyl complexes

The reactions of aryllithium reagents o-LiC₆H₄CH₂NR₂ with (MeO)₂CO afford two new tris(aryl)carbinols bearing pendant-NR₂ donor groups in the side chain [o-R NCH C H ] COH [R = Me, R + R = (CH) ]. These alcohols feature helical chirality due to differently inclined aromatic fragments and are presented in a crystalline cell as two M and P enantiomers. Carbinol (R = Me) readily reacts with (Me3SiCH2)3Sc(THF)2 to give a scandium bis(alkyl) complex [(o-C₆H₄CH₂NMe₂)₃CO]Sc(CH₂SiMe₃)₂ featuring rigid binding of the alkoxy anion through a κ¹-O, κ²-N chelating coordination mode     

Efficient microwave induced direct α-halogenation of carbonyl compounds

A novel and direct method for the synthesis of α-halocarbonyl compounds using sequential treatment of carbonyl compounds with [hydroxy(tosyloxy)iodo]benzene followed by magnesium halides under solvent-free microwave irradiation conditions is described.     

Ionic liquids as reagents and solvents in conjunction with microwave heating: rapid synthesis of alkyl halides from alcohols and nitriles from aryl halides

We show that using ionic liquids as reagents in conjunction with microwave heating it is possible to prepare primary alkyl halides from the corresponding alcohols rapidly. Using ionic liquids as solvents in conjunction with microwave heating it is possible to prepare aryl nitriles from the corresponding aryl bromides or iodides. The scope and limitations of using microwave-promotion as a tool in these reactions is discussed.     

Preparation of novel analgesics via diastereoselective nucleophilic addition to 1-dimethylamino-2-methylpentan-3-one

The diastereoselective synthesis of naphthyl amino alcohols via nucleophilic addition to racemic 1-dimethylamino-2-methylpentan-3-one was studied. The use of the appropriate experimental conditions allowed the synthesis of both diastereoisomers. The relative configurations were established via NOESY experiments.     

Rhythmic growth of ring‐banded spherulites in blends of liquid crystalline methoxy‐poly(aryl ether ketone) and poly(aryl ether ether ketone)

Rhythmic growth of ring‐banded spherulites in blends of liquid crystalline methoxy‐poly(aryl ether ketone) (M‐PAEK) and poly(aryl ether ether ketone) (PEEK) has been investigated by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), polarized light microscopy (PLM), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) techniques. The measurements reveal that the formation of the rhythmically grown ring‐banded spherulites in the M‐PAEK/PEEK blends is strongly dependent on the blend composition. In the M‐PAEK‐rich blends, upon cooling, an unusual ring‐banded spherulite is formed, which is ascribed to structural discontinuity caused by a rhythmic radial growth. For the 50:50 M‐PAEK/PEEK blend, ring‐banded spherulites and individual PEEK spherulites coexist in the system. In the blends with PEEK as the predominant component, M‐PAEK is rejected into the boundary of PEEK spherulites. The cooling rate and crystallization temperature have great effect on the phase behavior, especially the ring‐banded spherulite formation in the blends. In addition, the effects of M‐PAEK phase transition rate and phase separation rate on banded spherulite formation is discussed. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. An efficient phosphine-free palladium coupling for the synthesis of new 2-arylbenzo[b]thiophenes

Straightforward and rapid access to 2-arylbenzo[b]thiophenes has been developed. It involved a catalytic coupling of 3-activated benzo[b]thiophenes with several aryl halides in the presence of a phosphine-free palladium system. In case of fragile functional groups such as aldehydes, a quaternary ammonium was used as an additive as with the other substrates, the coupling performed better and faster in the presence of a crown ether, the best one being DCH-18-C-6, with good yields and low reaction times. This method would provide a direct access to novel structures of biological interest.     

Synthesis of aromatic poly(thioether ketone)

Aromatic poly(thioether ketone)s were prepared by the direct polycondensation of aromatic dicarboxylic acids with aryl compounds containing ether or sulfide structures using phosphorus pentoxide/methanesulfonic acid (PPMA) as a condensing agent and solvent. Polycondensation proceeded smoothly and produced aromatic poly(thioether ketone)s with inherent viscosities up to 0.73 dL/g. The synthesis of substituted aryl ketones by the reaction of substituted benzoic acids with aryl compounds in PMMA was studied in detail to demonstrate the feasibility of the reaction for polymer formation. The thermogravimetry of the aromatic poly(thioether ketone)s showed a 10% weight loss in air and nitrogen at around 450 and 460°C, respectively. © 1992 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.     

取代脂环烃物理化学性质的拓扑化学研究

为了探讨有机化合物的分子结构与理化性质的关系,作者在以前的工作基础上,基于一阶分子连通性拓扑指数构建了一个信息拓扑指数.将拓扑指数与取代脂环烃系列分子的气态标准生成热、气态标准熵、气态标准生成自由能、沸点、临界温度、临界压力、临界体积、汽化热、密度、热容及表面张力等十一种热力学性质及物理化学性质相关联,用一个通用公式对各类性质进行概括,然后用已有的实验数据与拓扑指数进行回归分析,得到一系列计算各性质的经验公式.回归结果发现,分子的理化性质与拓扑指数有较好的相关性,有5类性质的复相关系数大于0.99.用经验公式对各类性质进行重新计算,其结果与实验值比较符合,用实验值对计算值作图,发现各数据点紧靠对角线,说明误差较小.残差分布呈正态分布.     

烷基和烷基苯磺酸钠系列的反相高效液相色谱法

用移动相中含有磷酸二氢钠的反相高效液相色谱法分析了烷基磺酸钠和烷基苯磺酸钠。对前者用电导检测器直接进行检测(无抑制柱),后者用紫外检测器检测。对几种商品十二烷基苯磺酸钠的组分和微乳液中十二烷基磺酸钠的含量进行了测定。得到了满意的结果。
