Two methods for sampling and concentration of volatile organic compounds are reported. In the first method, traps coated with a very thick film (ca. 100 μm) of cross-linked silicone stationary phase are employed. Such thick films can be prepared with a modified dynamic coating procedure, which is briefly described. The low phase ratio traps can be utilized for enrichment of volatiles from gaseous as well as aqueous matrices. The second technique is based on chromatographic evaporation of a solvent in a capillary tube, where the process is sustained by a repeated sample injection and a cyclic flow reversal. In this way, large solvent volumes can be handled by a small volume system. Under optimal conditions, when using a solvent barrier, quantitative recovery is possible even for compounds of comparatively high volatility. Another important application of the technique is extraction of trace components from gases such as headspace samples, polluted air, etc.  相似文献

Data about the existence of native HO? CH2? CH2? OH (MEG) in natural wines and champagne has led to delicate questions because of legal decisions already made to declare wine or champagne illegal for sale if the MEG concentrations found are above 10 mg/liter. Action has been taken because of the DEG (diethylene glycol) disaster in European wines of 1985…86. An incorrect legal decision was made due to the belief that MEG cannot be produced biochemically by grape vines. A further reason may be lack of correct data on native MEG trace concentrations, as a result of the special behavior of this diol. As first member of a homologous series whose higher members (C4) are normally found in all wines at quite high concentration levels, MEG shows extremely adsorptive behavior. The solution of the chromatographic problems is summarized in this paper. MEG concentrations in Riesling as example are in the range of 2 to 6 mg/liter and can easily be increased by biotechnological steps to a level of around 10 to 60 mg/liter. This is again due to the specific adsorptive behavior of MEG, which can be enriched on filter surfaces and displaced when the wine acidity changes with changing types. In order to control and guarantee the qualitative and quantitative results of MEG analyses we used a combination of Deans heart cutting on-line with Multi-Chromatography. It was easy to produce false data by many otherwise useful single column or two-dimensional separation processes, etc.  相似文献

A new, high performance liquid chromatography method has been developed for the separation of monovinyl- and divinyl-protochlorophyllides, using commercially available, C30 reverse phase column and isocratic elution. This method can be used both for analytical applications and preparative scale purification of monovinyl- and divinyl-protochlorophyllides using the same column where submilimolar concentrations of the crude protochlorophyllide extract can be separated in one run. The purity of the obtained protochlorophyllides was demonstrated by spectroscopic methods, as well by the formation of aggregates in toluene.  相似文献

Summary This paper reports the use of liquid chromatography for the separation and determination of the major cannabinoids extracted from hashish samples. The direct coupling to the mass spectrometer enables the selective identification both of neutral and acidic cannabinoids. The developed method does not require any preliminary derivatization and should, therefore, be of interest in forensic analysis for simple and unequivocal determination of hashish constituents.Part of this work was presented at the 2nd Italian-Spanish Joint Meeting of Medicinal Chemistry, 30 August–3 September 1995, Ferrara, Italy.  相似文献

In this paper, hydroxy-terminated silicone oil-butyl methacrylate-divinylbenzene (OH-TSO-BMA-DVB) copolymer was first synthesized and used as stationary phase with the aid of γ-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxylsilane (KH-570) as bridge in solid-phase microextraction (SPME) using sol–gel method and cross-linking technique. It has high extraction efficiency for both polar alcohols and fatty acids and nonpolar esters in comparison with commercial PDMS, PDMS-DVB and PA fibers. A simple and sensitive headspace SPME-gas chromatography (HS-SPME-GC) method using the novel fiber was presented for the simultaneous analysis of both polar alcohols and fatty acids and nonpolar esters in wine. To check the matrix effects, various model wine matrices, including distilled water; 11.5% ethanol/water (v/v) solution; a concentrated synthetic wine; a ‘volatile-free’ wine and a real wine were investigated in detail. Matrix effects were compensated for by using internal standard method and selecting the ‘volatile-free’ wine as working standard. The method presented in this study showed satisfactory linearity, precision, detection limits and accuracy. The recoveries obtained ranged from 85.87 to 104.2%, and the relative standard deviation values were below 9%. The results obtained indicated that the present method is a validated and accurate procedure for the simultaneous determination of both polar and nonpolar aroma compounds in wine.  相似文献

The certification of marine materials for trace metals is a process which challenges every technique involved, especially if a technique is as recent as inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), Developmental work was required for several materials (natural waters, biological materials, marine sediments). It is reviewed here, in an attempt to show how one can take full advantage of ICP-MS. This includes a review of the digestion procedures developed for the multielement analysis of biological materials and marine sediments in order to minimize spectroscopic interferences. The multielement analysis of natural waters is also reviewed, in particular that of saline waters which requires a separation of the analytes from the alkali and alkaline earths elements and a preconcentration of the analytes on a column of silicaimmobilized 8-hydroxyquinoline. The potential of performing this separation/preconcentration procedure on-line is showed using both published and original results. The aim of this study was to develop an analytical method to determine the organochlorine concentrations in sediments. Combination of Microwave assisted Solvent Extraction (MASE) and capillary gas chromatography with specific detection (electron capture detector) was a viable approach for the determination of pesticides in solid matrixes. In this study, MASE development was focused on the selection of a suitable extraction solvent for all the target analytes. MASE procedure was validated by comparison with conventional methods such as Soxhlet and sonication extraction. The proposed method was then applied to determine the organochlorine insecticides concentrations in samples from Authie Bay (France). Environmental water samples were analysed and five target analytes were detected in concentrations from 0.03 to 0.56 ng/g of dry sediment. These investigations showed the accumulation and the persistency of these products in sediments in spite of the fact they were banned a few decades ago.  相似文献

A new in-loop solid-phase microextraction (in-loop-SPME) technique, based on an aluminum capillary tube coupled to HPLC, is described for on-line isolation, concentration, and analysis of analytes from aqueous samples. L-Dopa and L-dopamine, in aqueous solutions, were selected as model compounds. The main conditions affecting extraction of the analytes from aqueous samples, desorption, injection, and chromatographic separation were investigated. The method is simple and reproducible. Using the proposed method, reliable determination of L-dopa and L-dopamine at parts-per-billion concentrations was achieved. The calibration plots were linear in the range of 2.5–1500 ng mL−1 with correlation coefficients of 0.999 and 0.998 for L-dopa and L-dopamine, respectively. The detection limits were 0.5–1 ng mL−1 with a relative standard deviation less than 4.1%. Concentration factors more than 100-fold were obtained for these compounds.  相似文献

A novel bioelectrochemical method for the direct determination of D(−) L(+) lactic acid and of L(−) malic acid in wines is presented. Multienzymatic biosensors were realized for the selective determination of the three analytes: D(−) and L(+) lactic acid were measured by a trienzymatic biosensor based on the catalytic activities of the enzymes L(+) lactate oxidase (LOD), D(−) lactate dehydrogenase (D-LDH) and horseradish peroxidase (HRP); L(−) malic acid was measured by a bienzymatic electrode, realized by coupling the enzymes L(−) malic dehydrogenase (L-MDH) and horseradish peroxidase (HRP). In both cases the enzymes were immobilized on an oxygen selective Clark electrode.The simultaneous determination of the two organic acids can be accomplished either in batch or in a flow injection analysis apparatus using the same biosensors as detectors. The analytical performance of the method, tested in standard aqueous solutions and on real samples of wines, showing high repeatability, short response times and reduced cost of analysis, suggest that the experimental approach here described could be followed to monitor the progress of malolactic fermentation.  相似文献
