Synthesis and characterization of new bis(1-aryliminomethylenylnaphthalen-2-oxy)nickel complexes and their catalytic behavior for vinyl polymerization of norbornene

The synthesized 1-aryliminomethylenylnaphthalen-2-ol derivatives reacted with nickel chloride to form bis(1-aryliminomethylenylnaphthalen-2-oxy)nickel complexes. All resultant compounds were structurally characterized by elemental analyses, IR and H NMR, and the structures of the formed complexes were elucidated by X-ray crystal structure analysis. The complexes show high catalytic activities for the vinyl polymerization of norbornene in the presence of methylaluminoxane. The catalytic activity variations have been followed by gas chromatography through monitoring the conversion of norbornene.     

Nucleophilic chain substitution on perfluoroketene dithioacetals by ethyl 2-trimethysilyl acetate. Application to the synthesis of 2-trifluoromethyl succinic acid derivatives

A highly efficient substitution of the vinyl fluoride of perfluoroketene dithioacetals was achieved using trimethylsilylacetate to give 2-perfluoroalkyl succinic acid derivatives and 2-trifluoromethyl succinimides. This chain process was initiated by a catalytic amount of fluoride salt, whereas reaction failed with the corresponding lithium enolate.     

A convenient method for the preparation of α-vinylfurans by phosphine-initiated reactions of various substituted enynes bearing a carbonyl group with aldehydes

α-Vinylfurans were obtained by phosphine-initiated cyclization of various enynes bearing a carbonyl group at the ene end in the presence of various aldehydes, in moderate to high yields. The reaction may consist of 1,6-addition of phosphine to the enynes, ring closure, and Wittig reaction between the ylid resulting from cyclization and an aldehyde. Thus, various aldehydes were able to be used in the reaction. The reaction was influenced greatly by the substituents at the acetylene position (R¹) and the α-position of the carbonyl group (R³).     

Synthesis and structure of O-(arylcarbamoyl)butyrhydroximoyl chlorides

The O-(arylcarbamoyl)butyrhydroximoyl chlorides were synthesized, and the x-ray structural analysis (XSA) of one of them — O-(o-tolylcarbamoyl)butyrhydroximoyl chloride — was performed. It was established from the data of the XSA and the PMR spectra that all synthesized compounds are the Z isomers.Institute of Physiologically Active Substances, Russian Academy of Sciences, 142432 Chernogolovka. A new approach towards peptidosulfonamides: synthesis of potential inhibitors of bacterial peptidoglycan biosynthesis enzymes MurD and MurE

Peptidosulfonamides are an emerging group of peptidomimetics with a variety of applications in medicinal chemistry. We present a novel approach to the synthesis of peptidosulfonamides, and apply it to a series of new potential inhibitors of the bacterial peptidoglycan biosynthesis enzymes MurD and MurE. The synthesis was conducted via N-phthalimido β-aminoethanesulfonyl chlorides, which are new building blocks for the synthesis of peptidosulfonamides. In the most crucial step, sulfonic acids or their sodium salts were converted into the corresponding sulfonyl chlorides using an excess of either SOCl₂ or SOCl₂/DMF, and then coupled to the C-protected amino acid. None of the compounds significantly inhibited MurD, however, some inhibited MurE; one had an IC₅₀ below 200 μM, which constitutes a promising starting point for further development. Molecular modelling simulations were performed on two analogues to investigate the absence of inhibitory activity of the sulfonamide compounds on MurD.     

亚麻等麻类纤维与乙烯基类单体接枝共聚反应的研究进展

近年来,乙烯基类单体与亚麻、大麻、苧麻等麻类纤维的接枝共聚反应已得到关注。本文着重总结接枝的引发方法,包括:1.辐射引发接枝;2.光引发接枝;3.Ce(Ⅳ)离子引发接枝;4.锰盐引发接枝;5.V(Ⅴ)离子引发接枝;6.Fenton's 试剂(Fe~(2+)-H_2O_2)引发接枝;7.过硫酸盐氧化还原引发体系接枝。上述各类引发体系及接枝纤维的结构与性能表征均在本文中作了述评。

聚醋酸乙烯酯的光引发可控合成——介绍一个高分子化学综合实验

本实验开展了醋酸乙烯酯的可逆加成-断裂链转移自由基聚合(RAFT),分别运用偶氮二异丁腈(AIBN)引发和可见光引发两种方式进行了聚合反应,运用核磁共振和凝胶色谱等多种手段对所得聚合物结构进行了表征与分析。通过比较AIBN引发与光引发所获得聚合物端基结构的异同,加深了学生对RAFT聚合方法原理的理解。同时,运用该方法实现了聚合物两端端基结构的高度功能化,深入体会聚合物合成设计概念。本综合实验教学不仅通过对比法加深了学生对实验原理和专业知识的理解,提升了学生创新研究能力,而且训练了学生的实验操作技能、大型仪器使用能力和结果分析能力,提升了综合素质。     

双官能度自由基引发剂应用研究的进展

双官能度引发剂在自由基聚合中的应用不断受到重视，本文介绍了常用的双官能度引发剂，并综述了其在制备嵌段共聚物及引发乙烯类单体（如苯乙烯、氯乙烯、丙烯酰胺等）聚合的研究进展。     

Radiation induced polymerization of vinyl monomers and their application for preparation of wood-polymer composites

Polymerizing effects of high energy radiation has been found suitable for preparation of wood-polymer composites. In the present work after evaluating polymer products that have been obtained by irradiation method, wood-polymer composites have been prepared by in situ polymerization of vinyl acetate, acrylic acid and acrylic acid/styrene mixture using two samples of Iranian hardwoods, Beech and Hornbeam. These woods and their composites have been tested for their physical and mechanical properties. The results have shown that chemical bonding between polymer and the cell wall component lead to better strength properties in the composites.
