We present a new algorithm for the identification of ring pairs in Cherenkov detectors. The approach combines linear regression methods for the construction of an appropriate reference quantity, methods from statistics for the evaluation of hypotheses and Monte Carlo simulation runs for the tuning of threshold levels.  相似文献

By the orthogonal design, the optimal formation conditions for the middle-phase microemulsions in the system dioctadecyldimethylammonium chloride (DODMAC)/ sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS)/n-butanol/n-hep-tane/brine were obtained as follows: WDODMAC: WSDS = 1:4-1:5,C π-butanol (%) = 11.0-12.0, andC NaCl (%) = 3.25 Investigations have been made on the effects of the concentrations of NaCl and n-butanol (l.0%-14.0%), the ratios ofWDODMAC: to WSDS, and the kinds of alcohols (n-propanol, n-butanol, and n-pentanol) on the formation, the phase behaviour, the ultralow interfacial tensions, the optimal salinity (S*), and the length of salinity (δS). Some rules and data were worked out about the formation and characteristics of the middle-phase microemulsions. The mi-crostructures of the middle-phase microemulsions were also studied by using FT-IR, ESR, and freeze fracture electron microscopy techniques. The results from the three methods show that the microstructures of the middlephase mi-croemulsions undergo the change from O/W to bicontinuous (B.C.) and to W/O. The distribution rule of the orga-nized molecule assemblies in the middle-phase microemulsions is conducible to constructing the model of microemulsion systems, to recognizing the microstructures of the middle-phase microemulsions, and to setting forth the relationship between the microstructures and macro-properties of rnicroemulsions. The present state of our knowledge on sol-gel coating films has been reviewed. A qualitative discussion is made on the limit of the film thickness which can be achieved in the sol-gel method and the factors affecting the film thickness. Considering that properties of the film are intimately related to the microstructure, types of microstructures accomplished by the sol-gel coating are introduced with examples.  相似文献

Miniaturization of separation columns implies equally reduced vol- umes of injectors, detectors, and the connecting channels. Planar chip technology provides a powerful means for the fabrication of micron-sized structures such as channels. This is demonstrated by two examples. An optical absorbance detector chip exhibits the expected behavior of a 1 mm optical path length cell despite its volume of 1 nL. A capillary electrophoresis device allows integrated injections of 100 pL samples, efficiencies of 70,000 to 160,000 theoretical plates in 10 to 20 seconds, and external laser-induced fluorescence detection at any capillary length of choice between 5 and 50 mm.  相似文献

Raman spectra of the Schiff 's base liquid crystalline compound 5O5, N-(4- n-pentyloxybenzylidene)-4'-n-pentylaniline, have been recorded as a function of temperature from 22 to 80°C in the 1140-1220 cm-1 and 1550-1640 cm-1 spectral regions. From careful deconvolution of the spectral features using Lorentzian profiles, precise values of peak positions, integrated intensities and linewidths of some selected Raman bands were obtained. The variations of the Raman spectral parameters with temperature are discussed in terms of changes in the molecular alignment and its effect on intra-/inter-molecular interactions at the Cr-G, G-SmF, SmF-SmC and SmA-N phase transitions. From a detailed study, it is inferred that the increased orientational/vibrational freedom of the alkyl chains, as well as the delocalization of the electron clouds, is responsible for the spectral anomalies at the Cr-G transition. Loss of positional ordering and twist around the -C6H4-N= bond takes place at the SmF-SmC transition. In the SmA-N transition, some evidence for the formation of cybotactic clusters was obtained.  相似文献

For a knowledge-based system that fails to provide the correct answer, it is important to be able to tune the system while minimizing overall change in the knowledge-base. There are a variety of reasons why the answer is incorrect ranging from incorrect knowledge to information vagueness to incompleteness. Still, in all these situations, it is typically the case that most of the knowledge in the system is likely to be correct as specified by the expert (s) and/or knowledge engineer (s). In this paper, we propose a method to identify the possible changes by understanding the contribution of parameters on the outputs of concern. Our approach is based on Bayesian Knowledge Bases for modeling uncertainties. We start with single parameter changes and then extend to multiple parameters. In order to identify the optimal solution that can minimize the change to the model as specified by the domain experts, we define and evaluate the sensitivity values of the results with respect to the parameters. We discuss the computational complexities of determining the solution and show that the problem of multiple parameters changes can be transformed into Linear Programming problems, and thus, efficiently solvable. Our work can also be applied towards validating the knowledge base such that the updated model can satisfy all test-cases collected from the domain experts.  相似文献

Using an advanced functional photoresist we introduce direct‐laser‐written (DLW) 3D microstructures capable of complete degradation on demand. The networks consist exclusively of reversible bonds, formed by irradiation of a phenacyl sulfide linker, giving disulfide bonds in a radical‐free step‐growth polymerization via a reactive thioaldehyde. The bond formation was verified in solution by ESI‐MS. To induce cleavage, dithiothreitol causes a thiol–disulfide exchange, erasing the written structure. The mild cleavage of the disulfide network is highly orthogonal to other, for example, acrylate‐based DLW structures. To emphasize this aspect, DLW structures were prepared incorporating reversible structural elements into a non‐reversible acrylate‐based standard scaffold, confirming subsequent selective cleavage. The high lateral resolution achievable was verified by the preparation of well‐defined line gratings with line separations of down to 300 nm.  相似文献

Polymeric self-consistent field theory is used to investigate microstructures and interphase properties of diblock copolymers grafted onto solid surfaces in a homopolymer melt. The calculations show that the grafted diblock copolymers can self-assemble into hemispherical microstructures at low grafting densities of the diblock copolymers. The morphology transforms into hemicylinder-like and sandwich-like lamellar microstructures with an increase in the chain-grafting density. The effective thickness of the grafted block layer and the interphase width between the homopolymer melt and the grafted copolymers strongly depend on the physicochemical parameters of the system, such as the composition of the grafted copolymer, the chemical incompatibility between the different components, the length ratio of grafted copolymer to homopolymer, and the grafting density of the diblock copolymers. In addition, the above computational results of microphase-separated structures and interphase properties are qualitatively compared with our previous experimental observations. The comparison indicates that our theoretical results not only reproduce the general feature of the experimental observations, but also elucidate the internal structural information and complement the findings in the region of high grafting densities of diblock copolymers.  相似文献
