Gas-chromatographic experiments were carried out in various phases of the solvents 4-acetoxy-N-[4-methoxy-benzylidene]-aniline, dibutoxyazoxybenzene, lithium stearate, dihexoxyazoxybenzene, and diheptoxyazoxybenzene. The solutes were linear, branched and cyclic alkanes, and substituted benzenes. Excess enthalpies, entropies, and free entropies were calculated from net retention volumes. In the nematic liquid crystalline phases the effect of order disturbance was significant in and but it was, by enthalpy-entropy compensation, not demonstrable in . Differences in flexibility and degree of expansion of the solutes did not result in significantly different values of the excess quantities.  相似文献

The reaction of 1,1,1,5,5,5-hexafluoroacetylacetone with push-pull enamines having a methyl group at the α-position was investigated. It was found that the reaction is sensitive both to the structure of enamines and to reaction conditions. As a result, a set of bistrifluoromethyldialkylanilines and ethyl bistrifluoromethylsalicylate was prepared. Plausible mechanisms and factors influencing the course of the reaction are discussed.  相似文献

A novel method for the preparation of trifluoroacetaldehyde (fluoral, TFAc, CF3CHO) from commercially available trifluoroacetaldehyde ethylhemiacetal (TFAE) by microwave irradiation is described. The isolation, characterization and reaction of fluoral with various nucleophiles were studied to verify the diverse applicability of this new method.  相似文献

A dynamic Lie algebraic (DLA) formulation is applied to the study of nonlinear optical properties of the substituted benzenes. We have described the generation of the dynamic Lie algebra for the model Hamiltonian used in the present study. In terms of these elements of the dynamic algebra we express the evolution operator as a function of the group parameters, which can be determined by means of solving a system of coupled nonlinear differential equations. Thus, in terms of the density matrix operator formalism in statistical mechanics we obtain the statistical averages of the electric polarization and then derive readily an expression for the hyperpolarizability of the paradisubstituted benzenes. Comparisons with experimental observations and other quantum calculations of the hyperpolarizabilities for the paradisubstituted benzenes are made qualitatively and quantitatively. These results imply that the DLA method appears useful in describing the nonlinear optical phenomena in the substituted benzene molecules. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A structural feature of hydrogen bonding chains found in the crystals of trifluoromethylated amino alcohols is reported. Hydrogen bondings of 3-(N,N-dialkylamino)-1,1,1-trifluoro-2-propanols construct chiral spiral hydrogen bonding chains. Lone pairs on the nitrogen atoms of the amino alcohols participate in two hydrogen bondings. Detailed structural analysis of the hydrogen bonds of the 3-(N,N-dimethylamino)-1,1,1-trifluoro-2-propanol suggested that the chain built up with alternating intermolecular-medium and intramolecular-weak hydrogen bonds. The medium intermolecular hydrogen bond, which transfers a proton from the hydroxy group to the amino nitrogen, would make a tentative zwitterionic form of the molecule. Then, electrostatic attraction between the charges in the zwitterion centers induced a weak intramolecular hydrogen bond.  相似文献

Several 1,2-bis[5-(11H-benzo[b]fluorenyl)]benzenes and related compounds were synthesized via a cascade reaction sequence of the corresponding benzannulated enyne-allene precursors. The X-ray structures showed that the two benzo[b]fluorenyl moieties attached via the C5 carbons to the adjacent carbon atoms of the central benzene ring are oriented essentially perpendicular to the central benzene ring. The rates of rotation around the carbon-carbon single bonds attaching the benzo[b]fluorenyl moieties to the central benzene ring are relatively slow, allowing several anti and syn atropisomers to be separated at ambient temperature.  相似文献

Ab initio molecular orbital and density functional theory were used to investigate energetic and structural properties of the various conformations of hexa-tertbutylbenzene (1), hexakis(trimethylsilyl)benzene (2), hexakis (trimethylgermyl)benzene (3), and hexakis(trimethylstannyl)benzene (4). HF/3-21G//HF/3-21G and B3LYP/3-21G//HF/3-21G results revealed that the Twist-Boat (TB) conformer of compound 1 is more stable than the 1-Chair (C), 1-Boat (B), and 1-Planar (P) conformers. B3LYP/3-21G//HF/3-21G results show that the 1- TB conformer is more stable than 1- C, 1- B, and 1- P conformers of about 1.13, 4.34, and 99.94 kcal mol?1 , respectively. Contrary to the stability order of compound 1 conformers, the C conformer of compounds 2–4 is more stable than TB, B, and P conformations, as calculated by B3LYP/3-21G//HF/3-21G and HF/3-21G//HF/3-21G levels of theory. The energy gap between the C and P conformers in compounds 1–4 is decreased in the following order: ΔE(4: C, P) < ΔE (3: C, P) < ΔE(2: C, P) < ΔE (1: C, P). This fact can be explained in terms of the increase of C aromatic -M (M═C, Si, Ge, and Sn) bond lengths and the decrease of steric (van der Waals) repulsions in the previously discussed compounds. For compounds 1–3, the calculations were also performed at the B3LYP/ 6-31G*//HF/3-21G level of theory. However, the comparison showed that the results at B3LYP/3-21G//HF/3-21G methods correlated well with those obtained at the B3LYP/6-31G*// HF/6-31G method. Further, NBO analysis revealed that in compounds 1–4, the resonance energy associated with the σM-C1 to σ*C2-C3 delocalization is 5.20, 9.68, 11.15, and 12.27 kcal mol?1, respectively. These resonance energy values could explain the easiness of the ring flipping processes of C, B, and TB conformers of compounds 4 to 1. Also, the NBO results showed that by an increase of the σM-C1 → σ *C2-C3 resonance energies in compounds 1–4, the σM-C1 bonding orbital occupancies decrease. This fact could fairly explain the increase of the Caryl-M bond length from compound 1 to 4. The NBO results are also in good agreement with the calculated energy barriers for the ring flipping of the chair conformations in compounds 1–4, as calculated by B3LYP and HF methods.  相似文献

Six bis(silyl)acetylenes (XMe2Si? C?C? SiMe2X) with the following varied silicon substituents X were prepared: 1 (Me, Me); 2 (H, H); 3 (C1, H); 4 (CI, CI); 5 (MeO, H); 6 (MeO, MeO). While 1 and 2 may be prepared by the reaction of dilithio- or bis(bromomagnesium)-acetylide with the appropriate chlorosilane, similar reactions designed to give 3–6 yielded oligomers, XMe2Si? (? C?C? SiMe2)n? X, 7, X=CI, MeO, as the major products, indicating that the acetylenic functionality on silicon activates the chlorosilane towards nucleophilic substitution. Compounds 3 and 4 were prepared by free radical chlorination of 2. Methanolysis of 3 and 4 gave quantitative yields of 5 and 6 respectively. Compounds 1–6 undergo a Diels–Alder reaction with α-pyrone to produce, after loss of carbon dioxide, bis(silyl)-substituted benzene derivatives. The order of reactivity has been determined to be: 4=6>3=5>1>2, indicating that chloro or alkoxy substituents favor the cycloaddition with 2- pyrone. The adducts formed by compounds 3–6 undergo an unusually facile hydrolysis or elimination to give 1,1,3,3-tetramethyl-1,3-disila-2-oxaindane.  相似文献

Retention index (I), rather than retention factor (k), was found to be a more reasonable parameter for comparison of the relative affinity of disubstituted benzenes in MEEKC and MEKC, due to independent of I with the SDS surfactant concentration. MEKC and MEEKC may give similar or different I values, depending on types of moieties. With known I and Kow for alkylbenzenes as references in MEKC and MEEKC, the values of Kow for disubstituted benzenes can be estimated from the observed I values, where Kow is the octanol–water distribution constant. In addition, a group additive approach can be used to predict I for disubstituted benzenes with different moieties from the average observed I for the disubstituted benzenes with same moieties. However, electronic effects and/or intramolecular interaction may result in the different observed I from prediction.  相似文献
