Conceptions of function translation: obstacles, intuitions, and rerouting

A horizontal translation of a function is the focus of this study. We examine the explanations provided by secondary school students and secondary school teachers to a translation of a function, focusing on the example of the parabola y=(x−3)² and its relationship to y=x². The participants’ explanations focused on attending to patterns, locating the zero of the function, and the point-wise calculation of function values. The results confirm that the horizontal shift of the parabola is, at least initially, inconsistent with expectations and counterintuitive to most participants. We articulate possible sources of this perceived inconsistency and describe a pedagogical approach aimed at resolving it.     

Determination of generalized quadrangles with distinct elation points

In this paper, we classify the finite generalized quadrangles of order (s,t), s,t > 1, which have a line L of elation points, with the additional property that there is a line M not meeting L for which {L, M} is regular. This is a first fundamental step towards the classification of those generalized quadrangles having a line of elation points. Products and transforms of white-noise functionals (in general setting)

Some sharp results about Weiner and Wick products of whitenoise functionals are obtained. Using the inequality of Wick products we show to what extent scaling transformations, translations, and Sobolev differentiations can be performed on white-noise functionals.This work was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. 平移空间的线性结构

本文证明了在平移空间上可利用距离在一定条件下构作出线性结构,引入了次范整线性空间的概念,还证明了平移空间是次范整线性空间当且仅当它的平移群是Abel群.泛函分析学中的有界线性算子定理,Hahn-Banach定理以及共鸣定理都可以移植于次范整线性空间之中.     

Probabilistic models for stochastic elliptic partial differential equations

Mathematical requirements that the random coefficients of stochastic elliptical partial differential equations must satisfy such that they have unique solutions have been studied extensively. Yet, additional constraints that these coefficients must satisfy to provide realistic representations for physical quantities, referred to as physical requirements, have not been examined systematically.     

Uniqueness of norm on L(G) and C(G) when G is a compact group

Let G be a compact group. If the trivial representation of G is not weakly contained in the left regular representation of G on L₀²(G) and X is either L^p(G) for 1<p?∞ or C(G), then we show that every complete norm |·| on X that makes translations from (X,|·|) into itself continuous is equivalent to ||·||_p or ||·||_∞ respectively. If 1<p?∞ and every left invariant linear functional on L^p(G) is a constant multiple of the Haar integral, then we show that every complete norm |·| on L^p(G) that makes translations from (L^p(G),|·|) into itself continuous and that makes the map t?L_t from G into bounded is equivalent to ||·||_p.     

Abelian Subgroups of Garside Groups

In this article, we show that for every abelian subgroup H of a Garside group, some conjugate g ^?1 Hg consists of ultra summit elements and the centralizer of H is a finite index subgroup of the normalizer of H. Combining with the results on translation numbers in Garside groups, we obtain an easy proof of the algebraic flat torus theorem for Garside groups and solve several algorithmic problems concerning abelian subgroups of Garside groups.     

Auslander–Reiten Components with Sectional Bypasses

In this work, we will prove that the modules lying in a sectional bypass of an arrow in the Auslander–Reiten quiver of an artin algebra, are either all left stable or all right stable, but not τ-periodic. Moreover, if such a bypass exists, then the Auslander–Reiten quiver has an infinite left or right stable component which contains a section with a bypass.     

二维轴对称图象高阶胡氏不变矩快速算法的改进

提出了基于二维轴对称性目标图象矩快速算法的实用化改进方案.算法实用化改进是通过两个命题的证明实现的.一是通过轴对称目标图象质心在对称轴上的命题证明,实现了将二维轴对称图象矩快速算法用于轴对称性图象中心矩的计算;二是通过目标图象以坐标系中任意两点为圆心,旋转相同角度,结果图象具有平移性的命题证明,实现了算法用于对旋转不同角度的对称目标图象的中心矩的计算改进.在此基础上,完成了二维轴对称目标图象高阶胡氏不变矩实用化快速算法的实现.实验证明,该算法具有较好的实时性能,且具有较小的引入误差.
