Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) has multifunctional roles as a gas signaling molecule in living systems. However, the efficient detection and imaging of H2S in live animals is very challenging. Herein, we report the first radioisotope‐based immobilization technique for the detection, quantification, and in vivo imaging of endogenous H2S. Macrocyclic 64Cu complexes that instantly reacted with gaseous H2S to form insoluble 64CuS in a highly sensitive and selective manner were prepared. The H2S concentration in biological samples was measured by a thin‐layer radiochromatography method. When 64Cu–cyclen was injected into mice, an elevated H2S concentration in the inflamed paw was clearly visualized and quantified by Cerenkov luminescence and positron emission tomography (PET) imaging. PET imaging was also able to pinpoint increased H2S levels in a millimeter‐sized infarcted lesion of the rat heart.  相似文献

This Note presents a few selected results of an experimental testing program carried out at the ESRF in Grenoble, France. X-ray microtomography (with a spatial resolution of 14 μm) has been used to evaluate the onset and evolution of shear banding in a fine-grained stiff soil under deviatoric loading. It allowed detailed observations of strain localization in a specimen during the test, including the presence of more than one shear zone and a varying degree of dilatancy and/or crack opening. We will introduce the present knowledge of the turbulence profile and in particular we will emphasise the existence of a turbulence layer close to the ground. Then we will present the concept of Ground Layer Adaptive Optics and will provide estimates of performance expected from such systems and their potential for astronomical applications. Finally we will provide practical implementation concepts for two instruments at the VLT, MUSE and HAWK-I using multi-Laser Guide Stars and a large Deformable Secondary Mirror. This paper discusses strain localisation in granular media by presenting experimental, full-field analysis of mechanical tests on sand, both at a continuum level, as well as at the grain scale. At the continuum level, the development of structures of localised strain can be studied. Even at this scale, the characteristic size of the phenomena observed is in the order of a few grains. In the second part of this paper, therefore, the development of shear bands within specimen of different sands is studied at the level of the individual grains, measuring grains kinematics with x-ray tomography. The link between grain angularity and grain rotation within shear bands is shown, allowing a grain-scale explanation of the difference in macroscopic residual stresses for materials with different grain shapes. Finally, rarely described precursors of localisation, emerging well before the stress peak are observed and commented.  相似文献
