We consider immersions: and construct a subspace of which corresponds to a set of embedded manifolds which are either parallel to f, tubes around f or, in general, partial tubes around f. This space is invariant under the action of the normal holonomy group, We investigate the case where is non-trivial and obtain some results on the number of connected components of . Polytetrafluoroethylene and metal structure convective-flow CO laser

A convective flow CO laser composed of polytetrafluoroethylene discharge tubes, nickel–chromium steel components, a cupric heat exchanger and other components is described. Operating in liquid nitrogen condition, output power of 60 W has been obtained from a non-selective cavity.     

Fully developed mixed convection in horizontal and inclined tubes with uniform heat flux using nanofluid

Fully developed laminar mixed convection of a nanofluid consists of water and Al₂O₃ in horizontal and inclined tubes has been studied numerically. Three-dimensional elliptic governing equations have been solved to investigate the flow behaviors over a wide range of the Grashof and Reynolds numbers. Comparisons with previously published experimental and numerical works on mixed convection in a horizontal and inclined tube are performed and good agreements between the results are observed. Effects of nanoparticles concentration and tube inclinations on the hydrodynamics and thermal parameters are presented and discussed. It is shown that the nanoparticles concentration does not have significant effects on the hydrodynamics parameters. Heat transfer coefficient increases by 15% at 4 Vol.% Al₂O₃. Skin friction coefficient continually increases with the tube inclination, but the heat transfer coefficient reaches a maximum at the inclination angle of 45°.     

用毛细管测量纯水表面张力系数的误差讨论

通过用毛细管测量纯水表面张力系数实验，得到管内径d与接触角θ的相对误差之间的关系曲线，由此说明实验测得的表面张力系数α和理论公式相比呈现一定的偏差，并简单地讨论了实验的理想状态与实际情况的差别．     

螺旋线径向挤压变形对其慢波结构冷测特性的影响

 介绍了用MAFIA软件的准周期边界条件计算螺旋线行波管慢波结构的色散和耦合阻抗，以及用ANSYS软件对螺旋线径向挤压变形建模的方法，并对螺旋线受挤压径向变形对其冷测特性的影响进行了详细的分析。结果表明:螺旋线径向挤压变形会导致相速增大，而在通常的变形范围内耦合阻抗也会增加；当变形继续增大时耦合阻抗上升到最大值后开始下降。     

Dielectric effect on the rf characteristics of a helical groove travelling wave tube

A new type of partial-dielectric-loaded helical groove slow-wave structure (SWS) for millimetre wave travelling wave tube (TWT） is presented in this paper.The radio-frequency characteristics including the dispersion properties,the longitudinal electric field distribution and the beam-wave coupling impedance of this structure are analysed.The results show that the dispersion of the helical groove circuit is weakened,the phase velocity is reduced and the position of the maximum Ez is moved from the mouth to the inside of the groove after partially filling the dielectric materials in the helical groove SWS.Therefore,the dielectric-loaded helical groove SWS is suitable for a multi-beam TWT with broad band and high gain.     

水平管外强化凝结传热的数值解

以Nusselt理论为基础,运用三维坐标建立了肋片侧面的冷凝传热模型,对肋片侧面的冷凝传热机理进行了分析,得出了肋片侧面表面传热系数的积分表达式。利用此法对水平环肋单管表面传热系数进行计算并将结果与传统解法进行比较。     

微通道板真空体电阻与Ⅱ代倒象微光管匹配关系的研究

国内研制的20/30Ⅱ代倒象微光管经常出现微通道板真空体电阻偏高或偏低的问题,直接影响Ⅱ代倒象微光管荧光屏的亮度和目标分辨力,严重影响微光管的质量。经过对20/30Ⅱ代倒象微光管的研制和理论分析,证明英国马拉德公司对用于××1383Ⅱ代倒象微光管的H36微通道板技术条件中真空体电阻技术指标的规定也存在一定的问题。本文从目前国内外工艺水平和有关文献资料的分析出发,进行专题研究。本文中所推导的计算公式和对文献资料提供的技术数据的推导分析,同样适用于其他型号微通道板的真空体电阻与相应Ⅱ代、Ⅲ代微光管匹配关系的计算与研究。     

Tail probabilities of the limiting null distributions of the Anderson–Stephens statistics

For the purpose of testing the spherical uniformity based on i.i.d. directional data (unit vectors) z_i, i=1,…,n, Anderson and Stephens (Biometrika 59 (1972) 613–621) proposed testing procedures based on the statistics S_max=max_u S(u) and S_min=min_u S(u), where u is a unit vector and nS(u) is the sum of squares of u′z_i's. In this paper, we also consider another test statistic S_range=S_max−S_min. We provide formulas for the P-values of S_max, S_min, S_range by approximating tail probabilities of the limiting null distributions by means of the tube method, an integral-geometric approach for evaluating tail probability of the maximum of a Gaussian random field. Monte Carlo simulations for examining the accuracy of the approximation and for the power comparison of the statistics are given.     

How I Do It: Miniplate Reconstruction of the Lateral Thyroid Lamina: One-Stage Restoration of Voice After Teflon Granuloma Resection

This case report describes a one-stage technique for long-term voice restoration and laryngeal reconstruction in the treatment of Teflon (Dupont, Wilmington, Delaware) granuloma. A patient who presented with severe dysphonia underwent resection of a Teflon granuloma via a lateral laryngotomy. A pedicled strap muscle flap was used to reconstruct the paraglottic space. The muscle flap was positioned through the lateral laryngotomy with direct endoscopic visualization of the endolarynx to ensure correct vertical positioning and medialization of the vocal fold. The muscle flap was secured in this position with suture fixation. The trapdoor piece of cartilage that was elevated to create the window in the lateral thyroid lamina was repositioned over the pedicled muscle flap and reinforced with a titanium miniplate, which was secured to the remaining thyroid cartilage. The patient had excellent voice results and has not required revision or augmentation. Reinforcement of the lateral thyroid lamina using titanium miniplate fixation helps to stabilize the muscle pedicle flap and the position of the vocal fold, in this case resulting in good long-term voice results after a single-stage reconstruction.
