Ipomoea carnea Jacq. is an important folklore medicinal plant, assessed for its underexplored biological potential. Antioxidant, cytotoxic, antiproliferative and polyphenolic profile of whole plant was evaluated using various techniques. Maximum extract recovery (29% w/w), phenolic [13.54 ± 0.27 μg GAE/mg dry weight (DW)] and flavonoid (2.11 ± 0.10 μg QE /mg DW) content were recorded in methanol-distilled water (1:1) flower extract. HPLC-DAD analysis quantified substantial amount of six different polyphenols ranging from 0.081 to 37.95 μg/mg extract. Maximum total antioxidant and reducing potential were documented in methanol-distilled water and acetone-distilled water flower extracts (42.62 ± 0.47 and 24.38 ± 0.39 μg AAE/mg DW) respectively. Ethanol-chloroform root extract manifested highest free radical scavenging (IC50 of 61.22 μg/mL) while 94.64% of the extracts showed cytotoxicity against brine shrimps. Ethanol leaf extract exhibited remarkable activity against THP-1 cell line (IC50 = 8 ± 0.05 μg/mL) and protein kinases (31 mm phenotype bald zone). 相似文献

Two new spirostanol saponins, (1β,3β,5β,25S)‐spirostan‐1,3‐diol 1‐(β‐D ‐xylopyranoside) ( 1 ) and (1β,3β,5β,25S)‐spirostan‐1,3‐diol 1‐[α‐L ‐rhamnopyranosyl‐(1→2)‐β‐D ‐fucopyranoside] ( 2 ), along with two known compounds, (1β,3β,5β,25S)‐spirostan‐1,3‐diol 1‐[α‐L ‐rhamnopyranosyl‐(1→2)‐β‐D ‐xylopyranoside] ( 3 ) and (1β,3β,4β,5β,25S)‐spirostan‐1,3,4,5‐tetrol 5‐(β‐D ‐glucopyranoside) ( 4 ) were isolated from the whole plant of Reineckia carnea. The structures of the new steroids were determined by detailed analysis of their 1D‐ and 2D‐NMR spectra and chemical methods, and by comparison with spectral data of known compounds. A new polyhydroxylated pregnane, named lβ,2β,3β,4β,5β,6β-hexolhydroxy-pregn-16-en-20-one (1), along with nine known (2–10) steroidal saponins were isolated from the whole plant of Reineckia carnea. Structure elucidations of all compounds were established by interpretation of their NMR spectral data, HR-ESI-MS and comparing with literatures. In addition, these compounds were evaluated with anticomplement activity. The result showed that compound 1 exhibited anticomplement effects with the CH50 values of 0.043 mg/mL, but saponins (2–10) showed no inhibition. Interestingly, hydrolysis of steroidal saponins (2–10) resulted in its aglycones (2a–10a) correspondingly which showed anticomplement activity with the CH50 values of 0.049–0.156 mg/mL. 相似文献

Three cholestane bisdesmosides, together with the corresponding aglycone, were isolated from the whole plant of Reineckia carnea. By detailed analysis of the 1D‐ and 2D‐NMR spectra, chemical methods, and comparison with spectral data of known compounds, the structures were determined to be (1β,3β,16β,22S)‐cholest‐5‐ene‐1,3,16,22‐tetrol ( 1 ), (1β,3β,16β,22S)‐cholest‐5‐ene‐1,3,16,22‐tetrol 1,16‐di(β‐D ‐glucopyranoside) ( 2 ), (1β,3β,16β,22S)‐cholest‐5‐ene‐1,3,16,22‐tetrol 1‐[O‐α‐L ‐rhamnopyranosyl‐(1→2)‐β‐D ‐glucopyranoside] 16‐(β‐D ‐glucopyranoside) ( 3 ), (1β,3β,16β,22S)‐cholest‐5‐ene‐1,3,16,22‐tetrol 1‐(β‐D ‐glucopyranoside) 16‐(3‐O‐acetyl‐β‐D ‐glucopyranoside) ( 4 ). Compounds 3 and 4 appeared to be new compounds, while compound 1 was isolated for the first from a natural source. Compound 2 was isolated from the genus Reineckia for the first time. 相似文献
