Pectinic substances from the aerial part of Mentha x piperita were isolated and characterized and found to be a mixture of β-(1→4)-glucogalactan (MPG) and two α-(1→4)-rhamnopolygalacturonans (MPP′-1 and MPP′-2). It was shown that the pectin and its components exhibited membrane-stabilizing, antiatherogenic, and antioxidant activity. Hemicelluloses from M. piperita were a lignocarbohydrate complex. __________ Translated from Khimiya Prirodnykh Soedinenii, No. 5, pp. 411–416, September–October, 2007.  相似文献

Solutions of cellulose diacetate (CDA) from two sources (cotton linters and wood pulp Floranier) were analysed in various solvents by size exclusion chromatography (SEC). Without special precautions, the SEC chromatograms presented three peaks — or prehumps — before the main polymer peak. The first prehump which could be eliminated by ultracentrifugation corresponded to microgels whose sugar composition was determined. These microgels were also investigated by electron microscopy, X-ray and electron diffraction analysis. They corresponded mainly to cellulose triacetate (CTA-II) in the case of CDA from cotton linters and a mixture of CTA-II and xylan diacetate (XDA) in the case of CDA from the wood pulp Floranier. The second and third prehumps could be attributed to ionic effects corresponding to the association of remaining sulfate groups on the CDA molecules with residual calcium. It was found that these ionic effects could be eliminated by the addition of LiBr or LiCl to the elution solvents. This led to chromatograms devoid of prehumps.Presented in part at the Cellulose '91 meeting in New Orleans.  相似文献

It is challenging work to develop a low-cost, efficient, and environmentally friendly Cr(VI) adsorbent for waste water treatment. In this paper, we used hemicelluloses from chemical fiber factory waste as the raw material, and prepared two kinds of carbon materials by the green hydrothermal method as adsorbent for Cr(VI). The results showed that hemicelluloses hydrothermally treated with citric acid (HTC) presented spherical shapes, and hemicelluloses hydrothermally treated with ammonia solution (HTC-NH2) provided spongy structures. The adsorption capacity of the samples can be obtained by the Langmuir model, and the adsorption kinetics could be described by the pseudo-second-order model at pH 1.0. The maximum adsorption capacity of HTC-NH2 in the Langmuir model is 74.60 mg/g, much higher than that of HTC (61.25 mg/g). The green hydrothermal treatment of biomass with ammonia solution will provide a simple and feasible way to prepare adsorbent for Cr(VI) in waste water treatment.  相似文献

Ethanol organosolv lignin extracted from Miscanthus × giganteus with differing levels of severity (1.75 < CS<2.8) were subjected to comprehensive structural characterization by 13C, 31P NMR, FTIR spectroscopy and gel permeation chromatography. The results were compared to those from milled wood lignin from the same feedstock. The results showed that an increase in the severity of the treatment enhanced the dehydration reactions on the side chain and the condensation of lignin, increased the concentration of phenol groups and decreased the molecular mass of lignin fragments. It appeared that for the experimental conditions generally employed the cleavage of α-aryl ether bonds is primarily reaction responsible for lignin depolymerization under the organosolv conditions examined.  相似文献

A kinetic model was developed, based on the power law of growth and Avrami’s nuclei growth concepts, to describe the heterogeneous nature of pulping kinetics, taking into account the effects of chemical concentration and temperature. The general form of the kinetic equation is first order with a time-dependent rate coefficient. The model was statistically tested using published data obtained from delignification of lignocellulosic materials (hemp woody core, giant reed, wheat straw, cottonwood, bamboo and flax fibres). The activation energies of the delignification range from 71 to 136 kJ/mol. The p-values obtained from the regression analysis are significantly small indicating that all the estimates of the model parameters were significant with very high levels of confidence. The correlation coefficients R 2 for these models range from 0.76 to 0.98.  相似文献

Fungal pathogens have evolved combinations of plant cell-wall-degrading enzymes (PCWDEs) to deconstruct host plant cell walls (PCWs). An understanding of this process is hoped to create a basis for improving plant biomass conversion efficiency into sustainable biofuels and bioproducts. Here, an approach integrating enzyme activity assay, biomass pretreatment, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), and genomic analysis of PCWDEs were applied to examine digestibility or degradability of selected woody and herbaceous biomass by pathogenic fungi. Preferred hydrolysis of apple tree branch, rapeseed straw, or wheat straw were observed by the apple-tree-specific pathogen Valsa mali, the rapeseed pathogen Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, and the wheat pathogen Rhizoctonia cerealis, respectively. Delignification by peracetic acid (PAA) pretreatment increased PCW digestibility, and the increase was generally more profound with non-host than host PCW substrates. Hemicellulase pretreatment slightly reduced or had no effect on hemicellulose content in the PCW substrates tested; however, the pretreatment significantly changed hydrolytic preferences of the selected pathogens, indicating a role of hemicellulose branching in PCW digestibility. Cellulose organization appears to also impact digestibility of host PCWs, as reflected by differences in cellulose microfibril organization in woody and herbaceous PCWs and variation in cellulose-binding domain organization in cellulases of pathogenic fungi, which is known to influence enzyme access to cellulose. Taken together, this study highlighted the importance of chemical structure of both hemicelluloses and cellulose in host PCW digestibility by fungal pathogens.  相似文献

The supermolecular structure of dissolving pulps produced from hardwood by the organosolv processes Acetosolv, Formacell, and Milox was characterized by physical methods (TEM, WAXS, SAXS, NMR) and compared with conventional Sulfite and standard commercial dissolving pulps. The suitability of the pulps for the NMMO technology was tested by spinning fibres and blowing films, whose structural and mechanical properties have also been determined. With TEM it was shown that the TCF-bleached organosolv pulps have only the primary (Formacell), the primary and S1 (Milox), or mainly the S1 (Acetosolv) layers exposed to the surface, whereas Sulfite pulping exposes the S2 cell wall layer. Especially for Milox and Acetosolv Eucalyptus wood pulps, a reduced degree of crystallinity was found, both with WAXS and NMR. The SAXS results indicate a lower pore intersection length for the new pulps as compared to conventional pulps. Unbleached organosolv pulps show a lower crystallinity, very low pore intersection lengths, and an average crystallite shape different from their bleached counterparts. The dissolution behaviour in NMMO and the processability of the bleached organosolv pulps was satisfactory so far. Fibres and films could be produced with structural and mechanical properties comparable with conventional Sulfite and standard commercial dissolving pulp products. However, unbleached organosolv pulps did not meet the requirements of the NMMO process.  相似文献

Structures of glucofructans isolated from Cousinii radians roots were studied by methylation, periodate oxidation, and IR and 13C NMR spectroscopies. It was found that fructofuranose units were bonded to each other by inulin-type β-(2→1)-gylcoside bonds. __________ Translated from Khimiya Prirodnykh Soedinenii, No. 1, pp. 3–5, January–February, 2007.  相似文献

Ethanol organosolv lignin extracted from Miscanthus × giganteus (using the following conditions: T = 190 °C, t = 60 min, sulfuric acid = 1.2% w/w, EtOH/H2O = 0.65) and milled wood lignin from Miscanthus × giganteus were subjected to a comprehensive structural characterization by 13C, 31P NMR, FTIR, UV spectroscopies and size exclusion chromatography. The results showed that Miscanthus lignin is an H/G/S type (4%, 52%, 44% respectively) with ∼0.41 β-O-4 linkage per aromatic ring and contains coumarylate linkages (0.1/Ar). It was shown that during organosolv treatment, cleavage of β-O-4 linkages and of ester bond (acetyl and coumaryl residues) was the major mechanisms of lignin breakdown but the process did not significantly change the core of the lignin structure.  相似文献
