Hybrid electrode combined coplanar waveguide (CPW) and microstrip lines in ultra-broadband electro-optic modulators. The characteristics of the modulators with hybrid electrode is like that of the modulator with the microstrip lines, in which the microstrip electrode is loaded above only one arm of Mach-Zehnder (M-Z) optical waveguide, besides the problem of microstrip line to coaxial transition and corona polarization in polymer modulators have been best solved at the same time. By using finite element method (FEM), the characteristic parameters such as half-wave voltage, modulation bandwidth characteristic impedance, effective microwave refractive index of polymer modulators with microstrip line and hybrid electrode are analysed and compared in this paper. The results present that velocity match, impendence match and lower microwave propagating loss is easily realized in modulators with hybrid electrode. 相似文献

We report on various integration schemes of infrared microbolometers with microstrip antennas. The first integration design consists of two gold (Au) rectangular microstrip patches coupled along the radiating edges by a narrow niobium (Nb) strip. Devices using silicon oxide are compared to devices using amorphous silicon as antenna substrate. An extension of the twin-patch detector design is the microstrip dipole antenna-coupled microbolometer. Two ways of connecting the device to the contact pads via narrow dc leads are presented and compared. The contribution of the dc leads to the detector response is eliminated by directly connecting the dipole to the contact pads. The thermal isolation of the microbolometer from the silicon wafer is improved by incorporating air into the antenna dielectric substrate. This leads to higher detector responsivity and shifts the resonance towards longer antennas. The implementation of a bridge microstrip dipole antenna structure is also discussed. 相似文献

This paper presents an analysis of frequency dependent propagation characteristics of microstrip lines with anisotropic substrate and overlay. The method involves setting up of the Greens functions corresponding to the structure and formulating a dispersion relation in Fourier transform domain. With the monotonic increasing demand of the higher bandwidth for the next generation wireless communication system, the extension of the operating frequency of the communication system to the millimeter/Terahertz wave regime of the electromagnetic spectrum where several low-attenuation windows exist is inevitable. However, before the commercial implementation of the wireless communication in these low-attenuation windows, there are various obstacles which need to be addressed by the scientists and researchers. The atmospheric path loss is the main obstacle to the full-fledged implementation of the terahertz wireless communication. The remedy to this problem is the use of high-power sources, efficient detectors and high gain antenna systems. This paper reviews these technical issues with the special attention to the planar antennas which might contribute to the compact, inexpensive, and low profile future terahertz wireless communication system design. 相似文献

A aperture-coupled patch antenna is designed with parasitic elements connecting to the rectangle ring on the bottom of antenna
substrate through metal vias, which lead the current induced by patch radiator to the top surface of antenna substrate. Therefore,
the effective radiation is enhanced and higher gain is achieved. The bandwidth is broadened simultaneously due to the structure
of aperture-coupled patch antenna with parasitic elements. Compared to the conventional aperture-coupled patch antenna, the
antenna gain increases averagely 2 dB due to the novel structure. Compared to patch antenna of electromagnetic band-gap, the
dimensions of novel patch antenna greatly decreases, which can be used as element in the array antenna. Two kinds manufactured
antenna are both measured in an anechoic chamber. The good agreements between numerical simulation and experimental prototype

The Transverse Transmission Line (TTL) is used in the theory of the overlay shielded microstrip lines considering the superconductor strip on two semiconductor regions. The superconductor effect is included with the boundary condition of the surface impedance, that is related to the complex conductivity of the material, calculated from the advanced two-fluid model. Applying the moment method the complex propagation constant of the structure, including the phase constant and the attenuation constant, is obtained. Results are presented for the complex propagation constant, versus the frequency and the temperature, of this overlay superconducting microstrip lines. 相似文献

This paper presents a simple method for determining the dielectric constant of microwave PCB substrates. In the presented
method, a bandpass microstrip filter designed on the PCB substrate with a user-predicted dielectric constant value is implemented
for a given center frequency. The simulation results of the designed bandpass filter are obtained by the help of microwave
design software; XFDTD?. Experimental results regarding the filter frequency characteristic are accomplished by means of a
vector network analyzer. The simulation results of the designed filter are modified to overlap with the experimental ones
by varying the dielectric constant value. When the simulation and experimental results are overlapped, the value of dielectric
constant is accurately selected. In order to illustrate the validity of proposed method, the dielectric constant values of
flame resistant-4 (FR4) substrates are acquired at IEEE 802.11b/g and IEEE 802.11a wireless local area network (WLAN) application
frequencies. The results obtained by using the presented method agree with the previous studies in the literature. 相似文献
