This study investigates the comprehensive organosulphur compounds and evaluation of antioxidant activities in Allium hookeri, called hooker chive. The non-volatile and volatile organosulphur compounds were determined by high-performance liquid chromatography-photodiode array detector (HPLC-PDA) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), respectively. Among 11 non-volatileorganosulphur compounds, methiin and cycloalliin were major compounds. A total of 42 volatile compounds were identified and allyl methyl sulphides and dimethyl sulphides were primarily volatiles. The total phenols ranged from 19.32 to 71.19 mg gallic acid equivalents (GAE)/g. The antioxidant capacities expressed IC50 values ranged from 9.59 to 38.54 mg/mL for DPPH radical scavenging activity and from 0.39 to 2.36 for ferric reducing antioxidant power assay. The results were proposed as useful tools for evaluating the nutraceutical of hooker chive.  相似文献

Two-dimensional liquid chromatography–electrospray ionization mass spectrometry was employed to analyze flavonol glycosides present in leaves of Maytenus ilicifolia, frequently used in traditional Brazilian medicine. Since they contain many flavonol glycosides, including isomers, one-dimensional liquid chromatography did not give complete separation and identification, yielding overlapping of compounds with different molecular weights. Thus, employing size exclusion chromatography in the first and reversed phase in the second dimension, a great number of flavonol glycosides could be identified and its relative abundances determined. The majority of glycosides contained kaempferol or quercetin as aglycones, and glycosides with previously unreported structures were also present and characterized.  相似文献

Three new polyketide metabolites, the twelve‐membered macrolides (6R,12S)‐6‐hydroxy‐12‐methyloxacyclodoecane‐2,5‐dione ( 1 ), (10S,12S)‐10‐hydroxy‐12‐methyloxacyclododecane‐2,5‐dione ( 2 ), and 4,5‐dihydroxy‐12‐methyloxacyclododecan‐2‐one ( 3 ), were isolated from the endophytic fungal strain Cladosporium tenuissimum LR463 of Maytenus hookeri, together with three known compounds, cladospolide A, cladospolide B, and isocladospolide B. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis including 1D‐ and 2D‐NMR experiments, and the absolute configurations of 1 and 2 were determined by the Mosher ester method.  相似文献

The seed oils of three Maytenus species have been examined by high temperature GLC using SOP-50 (methoxy-terminated) and OV-225-OH (OH-terminated) glasscapillary columns. The main compounds (71–76%) could be identified as α-mono-acetotriacylglycerols by a combination of high temperature GLC-MS in negative chemical ionization mode with a CH4/N2O mixture as reactant gas and other spectroscopical methods (infrared, 1H- and 13C-nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy). The OV-225-OH phase demonstrated better separation properties that the SOP-50 phase for this substance class and up to eight species of α-monoacetotriacylglycerols could be separated. The content of usual triacyclglycerols was below 1%. The results of the analysis of the individual fatty acids as their methyl esters by GC and GC-MS are also presented.  相似文献

The significant inhibition and selectivity for human solid tumor cell by oily fraction of Maytenus royleanus, was subjected to GC‐MS analysis for determination of its chemical constituents. GC‐MS profile of methyl ester derivatives of fatty acids, showed that Palmitic acid (35.41%), Oleic acid (10.91%), Stearic acid (5.31%), Margaric acid (5.13%), Behenic acid (5.18%) and Hexanoic acid (4.97%) were the major components in the isolated oily fraction, while rest of the other fatty acids were present in minor concentration. The literature revealed that no such work has been done for the determination of fatty acids in M. royleanus stem oil.  相似文献

The genus Maytenus is a member of the Celastraceae family, of which several species have long been used in traditional medicine. Between 1976 and 2021, nearly 270 new compounds have been isolated and elucidated from the genus Maytenus. Among these, maytansine and its homologues are extremely rare in nature. Owing to its unique skeleton and remarkable bioactivities, maytansine has attracted many synthetic endeavors in order to construct its core structure. In this paper, the current status of the past 45 years of research on Maytenus, with respect to its chemical and biological activities are discussed. The chemical research includes its structural classification into triterpenoids, sesquiterpenes and alkaloids, along with several chemical synthesis methods of maytansine or maytansine fragments. The biological activity research includes activities, such as anti-tumor, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory activities, as well as HIV inhibition, which can provide a theoretical basis for the better development and utilization of the Maytenus.  相似文献

The natural compound (1S ,4S ,5S ,6R ,7R ,8R ,9R ,10S )‐6‐acetoxy‐4,9,10‐trihydroxy‐2,2,5a,9‐tetramethyloctahydro‐2H‐3,9a‐methanobenzo[b ]oxepin‐5‐yl furan‐3‐carboxylate, C22H30O9, (I), is a β‐agarofuran sesquiterpene isolated from the seeds of Maytenus boaria as part of a study of the secondary metabolites from Chilean flora. The compound presents a central structure formed by a decalin system esterified with acetate at site 1 and furan‐3‐carboxylate at site 9. The chirality of the skeleton can be described as 1S ,4S ,5S ,6R ,7R ,8R ,9R ,10S , which is consistent with that suggested by NMR studies. Unlike previously reported structures of sesquiterpenes containing a pure dihydro‐β‐agarofuran skeleton, (I) exhibits a three‐dimensional hydrogen‐bonded network.  相似文献

A new sesquiterpene manghookerins A (1) was isolated from the barks of Manglietia hookeri (Magnoliaceae) together with five known eudesmane-type sesquiterpenes. The structure of manghookerins A (1) was elucidated by physical and spectroscopic data analysis, including 1D and 2D NMR, HR-ESI-MS and X-ray diffraction. The structures of known sesquiterpenes were established by comparing their spectroscopic data with those in literatures.  相似文献

Maytenus senegalensis Lam. (Celastraceae) leaves are traditionally used in West Africa for the management of cancer and other disorders associated with inflammation. In this study, bioactivity-guided fractionation of the methanol leaf extract of Maytenus senegalensis led to the isolation of 11 compounds, including the new phenyldilactone, maysedilactone (1). All isolated compounds were tested for cytotoxicity against mouse lymphoma cell line (L5178Y). Only (−) epigallocathechin showed high cytotoxicity and completely inhibited cell growth at the investigated dose of 10 μg/mL. This result supports the claimed efficacy of Maytenus senegalensis leaf extract in ethnomedicinal treatment of cancer.  相似文献

Abstract

Medium and high polarity extracts from Maytenus species are known to contain polyphenolic compounds such as proanthocyanidins. The high polarity and structural complexity of these compounds make very difficult their isolation even by modern chromatographic techniques. Maytenus cajalbanica (Borhidi & O. Muñiz) Borhidi & O. Muñiz is endemic from Cuba. So far, there are reports neither of phytochemical work nor of biological evaluation of extracts from this subspecies. The goal of this work is to determine the polyphenolic profile and the antioxidant capacity of the ethanolic extract from the barks of Maytenus cajalbanica. FIA/ESI/IT/MSn analysis allowed the identification of 5 flavan-3-ol monomers, 33 proanthocyanidins, 2 free flavonoids and their respective glycosides as major compounds of the ethanolic extract, which showed a strong radical scavenging capacity and a significant ferric reduction power. FIA/ESI/IT/MSn technique led the rapid, effective and sensitive determination of the polyphenolic profile of Maytenus cajalbanica without previous separation.  相似文献
