4-Benzoylbenzoate intercalated in layered double hydroxides: a new catalyst for photo-oxidation of sulfides in solution and in the gas phase

A new mixed organic-inorganic photosensitizer, based on 4-benzoylbenzoate intercalated into a layered double hydroxide has been prepared, characterized and successfully tested for the photo-oxidation of dialkylsulfides, both in acetonitrile and in the gas phase.     

La5Al3Ni2 – an Intermetallic Phase Observed upon Crystallization of La50Al25Ni25 Metallic Glass

The yet unknown intermetallic phase La₅Al₃Ni₂ was obtained by partially crystallizing amorphous La₅₀Al₂₅Ni₂₅ at 550 K (further heating above 600 K leads to irreversible disappearance of this phase), and its crystal structure was determined from X‐ray powder diffraction data. The crystal structure of the La₅Al₃Ni₂ phase constitutes a new structure type (Cmcm, a = 14.231Å, b = 6.914Å, c = 10.460Å, oC40) and is built from [Al₃Ni₂] chains surrounded by La atoms. In the ternary system La‐Al‐Ni La₅Al₃Ni₂ is located on the section La₅₀Al_50−nNi_n (0 ≤ n ≤ 50) with the binary compounds LaAl and LaNi as end members. Strikingly, also the crystal structures of the end members can be conceived as chain structures with Al and Ni chains surrounded by La, respectively.     

Precipitation and characterization of uniform submicrometer lead titanate particles. Part II: Reaction mechanism

The chemical mechanism of the precipitation of lead titanium peroxohydroxide particles in a solution of nitrilotriacetate (NTA) complexes of lead and titanium peroxo-hydroxide is envisioned as the interaction between cations of lead hydroxide and anions of polymeric titanium peroxo-hydroxide.     

A computational study into the reactivity of epichlorohydrin and epibromohydrin under basic conditions in the gas phase and solution

Ab initio molecular orbital calculations were carried out on epibromohydrin (EBH) and epichlorohydrin (ECH) in an attempt to elucidate their reactivity with respect to a hard nucleophile, hydroxide. These systems were modeled in both the gas phase and a polar solvent under basic conditions. In the gas phase, it was determined that a direct displacement mechanism (nucleophilic attack at the C1 position) was operative for EBH, while an indirect pathway (nucleophilic attack at the C3 position and subsequent intramolecular displacement) was followed for ECH. In an acetone solution, only the indirect displacement mechanism was found to occur. An electrostatic argument is advanced to account for this behavior in polar solution. Magnetic properties of lanthanum orthoferrite fine powders prepared by different chemical routes

Fine powders of lanthanum iron oxide, LaFeO₃, have been prepared by solid state reaction as well as sol-gel synthesis and nebulized spray pyrolysis. Structures, morphologies and magnetic susceptibility measurements of these powders have been examined. The powders prepared by all the three low-temperature routes contain nearly spherical particles with an average diameter of 40 nm. These samples show a lower Neel temperature than the powder prepared by solid state reaction besides showing much lower magnetic susceptibility at low temperatures. 配合物LaL3.H2O的合成及表征

本文以３－甲基苯甲酸为配体，合成了与三价稀土镧离子的固体配合物ＬａＬ３．Ｈ２Ｏ，并对该配合物进行了元素分析，红外光谱，ＵＶ光谱，ＴＧ－ＤＴＡ，ＨＮＭＲ等的测试与表征。该配合物属螯合双齿配位。     

La（NCS）3.4.5H2O和B15C5在乙醇中的相平衡及热化学研究

采用半微量相平衡方法测定了三元体系Ｌａ（ＮＣＳ）３．４．５Ｈ２Ｏ－Ｂ１５Ｃ５－Ｃ２Ｈ５ＯＨ在２９８．１５Ｋ的溶解度，测定了各饱和溶液的折光率。     

大孔膦酸树脂吸附镧的研究

本文测定了大孔膦酸树脂对La3 的吸附容量，介质pH、温度、吸附时间等因素对吸附的影响。测得吸附速率常数K298＝7．64×10－5S－1，树脂功能基与La3 的络合比为3：1，用化学及红外光谱等方法，得到大孔磷酸树脂吸附La3 的基本参数及其机理。
