Monomers, 1-pyrenylmethyl methacrylate (PyMMA), 1-pyrenylbutyl methacrylate (PyBMA), 4-(1-pyrenyl)methoxymethyl styrene (PyMMS) and allyl-(1-pyrenylmehtyl) ether (PyMAE), with pyrene as chromophore, were prepared. Their spectral properties (absorption, emission and emission decay) in solution, and doped or bonded in polymer matrices and complex polymer systems as interpenetrating polymer networks (IPN), were investigated. Spectral properties of pyrene-containing monomers doped in polystyrene (PS), polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), polyvinylchloride (PVC), polyethylene (PE) and grafted on PE as well as copolymerized in buthylmethacrylate-co-styrene copolymer (BMA-co-S) have been compared. Absorption and emission spectra of pyrene type probes in solution and in IPN matrices exhibit typical absorption of the pyrene moiety. For IPN with grafted probes on PE, the absorption is slightly shifted to red wavelength. For monomers, PyMMA, PyBMA and PyMAE grafted to PE, the shape of the emission spectrum depends on the wavelength of excitation. The ratio of intensity of the vibrational band, I1/I3, (I1 peak at 377 nm and I3 peak at 388 nm) has been a quite useful indicator of polarity of IPN. The relative quantum yields of fluorescence in IPN matrices are lower in comparison to polymer matrices of PE, PS, PMMA for all probes under study. The fluorescence life-times for bound and free probes have been in the range 100–200 ns, which is substiantialy shorter than for the parent pyrene chromophore under the same or similar condition. Grafted probes on PE alone, or as a part of IPN, exhibit substantially shorter life-time around 10 ns and decay is rather complex.  相似文献

We report the synthesis and characterization of interpenetrating polymer networks (IPNs) exhibiting nonlinear optical (NLO) properties. The network consists of aliphatic polycarbonate urethane (PCU) and poly(methyl methacrylate-co-N,N-disubstituted urea), with a nonlinear optical (NLO) chromophore incorporated into N,N-disubstituted urea. The full IPNs have only one Tg, as determined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), together with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observations, suggest a single phase morphology. The thin films of IPNs are transparent and the unpoled samples produced second harmonic generation (SHG) signals at room temperature. This result indicates that the NLO chromophore is oriented noncentrosymmetrically during the IPN formation process and is tightly held between the permanent entanglements of the two component networks of the IPN. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Based on Thiele-Cohen model, a swelling equation was derived by introducing the interaction parameters of a three-component system of polymer Ⅰ-polymer Ⅱ-solvent, which is a reasonable representation of the swelling behavior of general homogeneous IPNs. The degrees of equilibrium swelling of polyvinyl acetate/polymethyl actylate (PVAc/PMA) IPNs were compared between the theoretical and experimental values. We report on the determination of the gelation point of semi‐interpenetrating polymer networks (semi‐IPNs) composed of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and poly(acrylic acid) (PAAc) formed by a sequential method. The evolution of the viscoelasticity during the gelation reaction of acrylic acid (AAc) in solutions of PVA has been monitored through the sol‐gel transition with dynamic mechanical experiments. The gelation time of the system increased with PVA concentration; however, the molecular structure of the gel, composed of swollen clusters, is rather independent of the presence of PVA. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The fracture surface topography of simultaneous interpenetrating polymer networks (SIN'S) of poly (2,6-dimethyl-1,4 phenylene oxide) (PPO)/poly (butadiene) diol was examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The phase morphology of the IPNs is highly dependent on PPO/poly (butadiene) diol mass ratio. A single-phase morphology of the IPNs was achieved when the content of poly (butadiene) diol is below 40 wt % in the initial composition. The SEM observations are also wholly consistent with the glass transition temperature behavior obtained in the differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) measurements. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

The frequency‐dependent conductivity of interpenetrating polymer network composites of polypyrrole (PPy) and poly(vinyl acetate) (PVAc) synthesized by FeCl3‐impregnated PVAc films being dipped into solutions of pyrrole in water was investigated over a frequency range of 100 Hz to 2 MHz and a temperature range of 110–300 K. For specimens with a PPy content less than the percolation threshold, the quantum mechanical tunneling of electrons was the conduction mechanism. We investigated the rapid and precise molecular release from hydrogels in response to dual stimuli. To achieve precise on/off drug release using thermoresponsive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) hydrogels, we prepared nano-structured semi-IPNs, which consisted of thermosensitive PNIPAAm networks penetrated by pH-responsive poly(acrylic acid) (PAAc) linear chains and perforated to create nano-tracts as a molecular pathway. The present nano-tracted semi-IPNs show a rapid deswelling response to both temperature and pH. Model drug releases were investigated when simultaneous changes in temperature and pH were applied. We observed that the cationic drug was rapidly released and then abruptly discontinued from the nano-tracted semi-IPNs in response to the dual stimuli, and clear release and stopping cycles were repeatedly observed on successive steps. Moreover, the release rates and amount of drug released were controllable by the deswelling speed of the gels and the PAAc content inside the gels. This novel release system using the nano-tracted semi-IPNs may be useful for the high performance, pulsed release of molecules.  相似文献

A series of polycaprolactone (PCL)-based polyurethane (PU)/epoxy resin (EP) graft interpenetrating polymer networks (IPNs) were prepared and their damping propertiesand thermal stability, as well as mechanical properties, were systematically studied in terms of composition and the values of the PU isocyanate index (R). The morphologies of the PU/EP IPNs were observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and atomic force microscope (AFM) characterization and the relationship between the morphologies and the properties is also discussed. The damping properties and thermal stability measurements revealed that the formation of PU/EP IPNs could significantly improve not only the damping properties but also the thermal stability. Meanwhile, the mechanical tests showed that the tensile strengths of the IPNs decreased, while their impact strengths increased with increasing PU content. The value of the PU isocyanate index also had significant impacts on the properties of the IPNs when the PU to EP ratio was fixed, which could be an effective means for manipulating the fabrication of PU/EP IPNs. From the results obtained, the PCL-based PU/EP IPNs hold promise for use in structural damping materials.  相似文献

A series of conducting interpenetrating polymer networks (IPNs), are prepared by sequential polymerization of castor oil based polyurethane (PU) with poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and polyaniline doped with camphor sulphonic acid (PAni)CSA. The effect of different amount of PAni (varies from 2.5-12.5%) on the properties of PU/PMMA (50/50) IPNs such as electrical properties like conductivity, dielectric constant and dissipation factor; mechanical properties like tensile strength and percentage elongation at break have been reported. (PAni)CSA filled IPNs shows improved tensile strength than the unfilled IPN system. The thermal stability and surface morphology of unfilled and (PAni)CSA filled PU/PMMA (50/50) IPN sheets were investigated using a thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) and a scanning electron microscope (SEM). TGA thermograms of (PAni)CSA filled PU/PMMA (50/50) IPNs show a three-step thermal degradation process. SEM micrograms of filled PU/PMMA IPN system shows spherulitic structure at higher concentration of (PAni)CSA.  相似文献
