Silica is removed from fly ash sample by hydroflourination for its effective determination gravimetrically and the remaining residue is subjected to lithium tetraborate (Li2B4O7) fusion followed by dissolution in dilute nitric acid to obtain a clear solution in which elements including aluminum (Al), iron (Fe), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), sodium (Na), potassium (K), titanium (Ti), vanadium (V), chromium (Cr), manganese (Mn), nickel (Ni), copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn), have been determined by Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (FAAS). Two fly ash samples analyzed by the proposed method have been received from the National Council of Cement and Building Materials (NCCBM), India (proposed CRM in future) and fly ash CRM 1633 (b) from NIST, USA. The validity of the method has been established by analyzing fly ash CRM 1633 (b) as reference standard. The standard deviation has been calculated for each measurement.  相似文献

A sensitive and simple separation-enrichment technique for the determination of trace amounts of Cu(II), Co(II), Cd(II), Fe(III) and Mn(II) was described. Metal ions were complexed with 1-nitroso-2-naphthol at pH 9. Following solid-phase extraction on Diaion HP-20 resin, metals were determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The effect of the matrix ions were investigated. The recoveries of metal ions were greater than 95%. The detection limits of the analyte ions ( k = 3, N = 21) were varying 0.18 µg/l for Cd(II) to 0.44 µg/l for Fe(III). The method was applied to a stream sediment standard reference material (GBW7309), some ammonium salts and industrial fertilizer samples for the determination of copper, cobalt, cadmium, iron and manganese. The relative standard deviations (RSD) of the determinations for analyte ions at µg/g levels varied from 1 to 10%.  相似文献

Instrumental neutron activation analysis, flame atomic absorption spectrometry, flame atomic emission spectrometry, graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry, ion chromatography and visible spectrometry were applied to determine the compositions of atmospheric aerosols, which were collected at a rural site in the Western Black Sea Coast of Turkey. A total of 354 daily aerosol samples were analyzed for about 46 trace and major elements and ions. Sample preparation, quality control procedures, and instrumental operating conditions were reported. Most of the elements measured commonly by the above techniques have very large correlation coefficients and low intercept values indicating the agreement between the results.  相似文献
