Electrochemically active hybrid coatings based on cationic films, didodecyldimethylammonium bromide (DDAB), and poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PDDAC) are prepared on electrode surface by cycling the film-covered electrode repetitively in a pH 6.5 solution containing Fe(CN)6 3− and Ru(CN)6 4− anions. Modified electrodes exhibited stable and reversible voltammetric responses corresponding to characteristics of Fe(CN)6 3−/4− and Ru(CN)6 4−/3− redox couples. The cyclic voltammetric features of hybrid coatings resemble that of electron transfer process of surface-confined redox couple. Electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance results show that more amounts of electroactive anionic complexes partitioned into DDAB coating than those doped into PDDAC coating from the same doping solution. Peak potentials of hybrid film-bound redox couples showed a negative shift compared to those at bare electrode and this shift was more pronounced in the case of DDAB. Finally, the advantages of hybrid coatings in electrocatalysis are demonstrated with sulfur oxoanions.  相似文献

Didecyldimethylammonium bromide (DDAB) has been scrutinized in comparison with traditional phase-transfer catalysts in variety of liquid-liquid reactions. It was found to be an exceptionally comprehensive, durable, and highly efficient phase-transfer catalyst (PTC) in a number of representative organic transformations such as C- and N-alkylations, isomerization, esterification, elimination, cyanation, bromination, and oxidation under very mild conditions of temperature and mixing. It was confirmed that DDAB is an exceedingly accessible and concurrently a highly liphophilic phase-transfer catalyst. This unprecedented characteristic renders DDAB to be a multipurpose catalyst that functions effectively both in mass transfer controlled and chemically controlled phase-transfer reactions.  相似文献

Didodecyldimethylammonium bromide (DDAB) forms vesicles spontaneously by simple solubilization of the solid into water at a concentration of ≈2.5 mM. Vesicles can be observed by the increase in turbidity of the aqueous solution of DDAB and by the increase in absorbance (at λmax=490 nm) of a lipophilic dye (Sudan III) solubilized into the vesicular bilayer. This vesicle system has been perturbed by addition of single-chain surfactants in order to study the transition from a vesicle-stable region to a mixed-micelle region. Vesicle breakdown involves the initial incorporation of a single-chain surfactant into the vesicular bilayer, followed by subsequent disintegration of the vesicle. The progress of reaction has been observed by monitoring turbidity changes using a stopped-flow spectrophotometer. The rate of breakdown of vesicles depends on the concentration and hydrophobic properties of the added single-chain surfactant. In addition, hypertonic and hypotonic osmotic stresses have been investigated.  相似文献

Abstract

Cytochrome c was immobilized at didodecyldimethylammonium bromide (DDAB)‐modified powder microelectrode and presented quasi‐reversible electrochemistry. The apparent surface coverage of cytochrome c is greatly enhanced by using powder microelectrode technique, which is 1.21×10?8 mol/cm2, more than one to three orders of magnitude larger than that obtained with thiol and DNA‐modified Au electrode. The cytochrome c modified powder microelectrode was applied for the amperometric determination of superoxide generated by the reaction of hypoxanthine with xanthine oxidase (XOD) in the presence of dioxygen.

The detection sensitivity of the modified powder microelectrode is 0.74 µA/cm2 µM, which is larger than that reported in previous publications. The detection limit of the modified powder microelectrode (PME) is 0.5 µM, and the linear detection range is 0.86~5.93 µM (values of the concentration are all in terms of hypoxanthine concentration in the solution).  相似文献

The solubilization and conformational behavior of Zein in the presence of cationic surfactant, dodecyldimethylethylammonium bromide (DDAB) have been studied. The colloidal properties of DDAB in the absence and presence of Zein have also been investigated using physico-chemical and spectroscopy methods. The surfactant appears to bind to Zein at concentrations below the critical micelle concentration (cmc) and the binding becomes weaker at concentrations above the cmc. The interaction between DDAB and Zein depends on the chemical structure and molecular parameters (conformation, molar mass, charge) of the protein. The schematic sketches of the molecular mechanisms of the complex formation between like-charged proteins and surfactants have been proposed.  相似文献

Synthetic vesicles are formed by cationic and anionic surfactants, didodecyldimethylammonium bromide (DDAB), and sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS). The morphology, size, and aqueous properties of cationic/anionic mixtures are investigated at various molar ratios between cationic and anionic surfactants. The charged vesicular dispersions made of DDAB/SDS are contacted or mixed with negatively charged polyelectrolyte, poly(4-styrenesulfonic acid-co-maleic acid) sodium (PSSAMA), to form complexes. Depending on DDAB/SDS molar ratio or PSSAMA/vesicle charge ratio, complexes flocculation or precipitation occur. Characterization of the cationic/anionic vesicles or complexes formed by the catanionic vesicles and polyelectrolytes is performed by transmission electron microscope (TEM), dynamic light scattering (DLS), conductivity, turbidity, and zeta potential measurements. The size, stability, and the surface charge on the mixed cationic/anionic vesicles or complexes are determined.  相似文献

Nanoparticles (NPs) with ternary components of polyethyleneimine (PEI), poly-(γ-glutamic acid) (γ-PGA), and poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) were applied to carry and release saquinavir (SQV). Hydrophobic SQV was encapsulated in the particle core composed of PLGA to form SQV-PLGA NPs, and the surface of SQV-PLGA NPs was grafted successively with hydrophilic γ-PGA and PEI (PEI/γ-PGA/SQV-PLGA NPs). The morphological images revealed that PEI/γ-PGA/SQV-PLGA NPs were spheroid-like, in general. An increase in the concentration of didecyl dimethylammonium bromide and a reduction in the dose of SQV enhanced the entrapment efficiency of SQV in PLGA NPs. In addition, an increment in the molecular weight of γ-PGA reduced the grafting efficiency of PEI on γ-PGA/SQV-PLGA NPs. An increase in the weight percentage of PEI enhanced the average particle diameter. However, the grafting efficiency of PEI on γ-PGA/SQV-PLGA NPs and the dissolution rate of SQV from PEI/γ-PGA/SQV-PLGA NPs reduced when the weight percentage of PEI increased. PEI/γ-PGA/SQV-PLGA NPs are an innovative drug delivery system and can be used for antiretroviral trials.  相似文献

This paper described a double-chained cationic surfactant, didodecyldimethylammonium bromide (DDAB), for dynamic surface modification of poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) microchips to reduce the fluorescent dyes adsorption onto the microchannel. When DDAB with a high concentration was present as the dynamic modification reagent in the running and sample buffer, it not only reversed the direction of electroosmotic flow, but also efficiently suppressed fluorescent dyes pyronine Y (PY) or rhodamine B (RB) adsorption onto the chip surface. In addition, vesicles formed by DDAB in the buffer with higher surface charge density and electrophoretic mobility could provide wider migration window and potential for the separation of compounds with similar hydrophobicity. Factors affecting modification, such as pH and concentrations of the buffer, DDAB concentration in the buffer were investigated. Compared with commonly used single-chained cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, DDAB provided a better modification performance. Furthermore, PY and RB were separated successfully on a PDMS microchip at the appropriate conditions with DDAB.  相似文献

Macronutrient elements (C, N and P) and micronutrient elements (Fe, Co, Cu, Zn and Mn) are widely measured in their various physico-chemical forms in open ocean, shelf sea, coastal and estuarine waters. These measurements help to elucidate the biogeochemical cycling of these elements in marine waters and highlight the ecological and socio-economic importance of the oceans. Due to the dynamic nature of marine waters in terms of chemical, biological and physical processes, it is advantageous to make these measurements in situ and in this regard flow injection analysis (FIA) provides a suitable shipboard platform. This review, therefore, discusses the role of FIA in the determination of macro- and micro-nutrient elements, with an emphasis on manifold design and detection strategies for the reliable shipboard determination of specific nutrient species. The application of various FIA manifolds to oceanographic nutrient determinations is discussed, with an emphasis on sensitivity, selectivity, high throughput analysis and suitability for underway analysis and depth profiles. Strategies for enhancing sensitivity and minimizing matrix effects, e.g. refractive index (schlieren) effects and the important role of uncertainty budgets in underpinning method validation and data quality are discussed in some detail.  相似文献
