Symmetrical and unsymmetrical bithiophene-substituted heterocycles bearing carbonitriles including imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine, benzimidazole, and pyridine derivatives have been synthesized via different synthetic protocols. The bithiophene bis-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine derivatives 3a,b were achieved in three steps starting from 2-acetyl-5-bromothiophene. Suzuki coupling reaction of 2a with 5-formylthiophen-2-ylboronic acid forms the formyl derivative 5, which by condensation with 3,4-diaminobenzonitrile in the presence of sodium bisulfite furnishes the unsymmetrical bithiophene derivative6. The bis-benzimidazole derivative 8 was obtained via hexabutylditin-mediated homocoupling of 5-bromothiophene-2-carboxaldehyde, while the benzimidazole derivatives 12a,b were prepared via the formyl derivatives 11a,b, a product of Velsmier formylation reaction of 10a,b. Two synthetic protocols for the aryl/hetaryl-2,2′-bithiophene derivative 14 have also been presented. In addition, the guanyl hydrazones of bithiophenes, 16 and 17, were prepared from bis(tri-n-butylstannyl)-2,2′-bithiophene through a Stille coupling reaction followed by a condensation step.  相似文献

The excitonic effects of biphenyl and 2,2′-bithiophene are investigated within an ab initio framework. For this purpose the Bethe–Salpeter equation for the two-particle Greens function is solved. Therefrom the imaginary part of the dielectric function is derived, which includes the electron–hole interaction in the absorption process. It turns out that these organic molecular crystals, which are built by small molecules, give rise to sizeable exciton binding-energies, which are between 0.7 and 0.8 eV. To study the influence of the intermolecular interaction, the exciton binding energy of crystalline biphenyl is calculated as a function of pressure. The decrease of both, the band gap and the exciton binding energy, results in a slight red-shift of the lowest optically active singlet exciton.  相似文献

A novel, cheap copper(II) fluoride-mediated N-arylation of heterocycles with halothiophenes is described. The yield of the pyrazolylthiophene strongly depends on the nature of the initial thiophene. The molecular structure of 3,5-dimethyl-1-(5′-methyl-[2,2′]bithienyl-5-yl)-1H-pyrazole was studied by X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

Diastereomeric C-shaped molecules containing closely stacked bithiophene-substituted quinoxaline rings were synthesized and characterized by NMR, UV–vis absorption, and fluorescence spectroscopy. The unique geometry of each diastereomer resulted in different degrees of π-overlap between the bithiophene-substituted quinoxaline ring chromophores, modulating their spectroscopic properties. The donor-acceptor nature of this chromophore gave rise to its positive solvatochromism. 1H NMR and UV–vis absorption spectroscopy confirmed the existence of π-π interactions in the ground state between the quinoxaline rings in both molecules but between the bithiophene rings only in the syn isomer. They exhibited significant emission maxima bathochromic shifts, a strong, positive solvatochromism, increased band broadening, and larger Stokes shifts when compared to a compound with an unstacked chromophore. Additionally, the syn isomer consistently showed λmax,em value red-shifts and larger band broadening and Stokes shifts compared to the anti isomer due to the greater π-overlap in the syn isomer.  相似文献

Novel fluorescent ionophores bearing imidazo-arylthienyl or imidazo-bithienyl π-conjugated bridges functionalized with one or two fused benzo-15-crown-5 ethers as receptor units are reported. The sensing ability of the compounds in the presence of metallic cations (Li+, Na+, K+, Ca2+, Zn2+, Cu2+, Ni2+, Pd2+, and Hg2+) and fluoride ion was studied in MeCN/DMSO solutions by absorption and emission spectroscopy. The experimental results indicate that all compounds could act as selective fluorimetric sensors for Cu2+ and Pd2+ and also for the fluoride ion, in the case of the bis-substituted crown ether derivatives.  相似文献

Two soluble poly(p-phenylenevinylene) derivatives (PPVs) with two bithiophenes as conjugated side chains, P1 and P2, were synthesized and characterized for application in polymer solar cells (PSCs). The thermal, photophysical, electrochemical and photovoltaic properties of the PPVs were investigated and compared with those of the PPVs without conjugated side chains. Bulk heterojunction solar cell devices are fabricated using the copolymers as the electron donor and PCBM ([6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester) as the electron acceptor. The power conversion efficiencies (η) based on the P1 and P2 are 1.1% and 1.41% under AM 1.5 illumination (100 mW/cm2), respectively.  相似文献

In this article, three novel and simple molecular structure with donor-acceptor (D-A) type copolymers via only head-to-head alkoxy (OR) and/or alkylthio (SR) side chains onto the bithiophene (BT) as donor units and fluorinated benzotriazole (FBTA) as acceptor unit, namely, PBTOR-FBTA, PBTOSR-FBTA and PBTSR-FBTA, were successfully designed and synthesized. The impacts of sulfur-oxygen (S⋯O) or sulfur-sulfur (S⋯S) noncovalent interactions on their physicochemical properties, molecular stacking, carrier mobility, morphologies of blend films, as well as their photovoltaic performance were deeply and systematically studied. The introduction of SR side-chains suddenly lowered the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) energy levels, blue-shifted absorption, enhanced π-π stacking, as well as improved morphology of the photoactive layer blends in comparison with the reference polymer without SR side-chain. Polymer solar cells (PSCs) were fabricated to estimate their photovoltaic performance of the polymers. Under an optimized blend ratio of PBTSR-FBTA:PC71BM (1:0.8, w/w), the PBTSR-FBTA-based device exhibits a higher power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 6.25%, which is about 3.34 and 1.87 folds than that of the PBTOR-FBTA and PBTOSR-FBTA-based devices, respectively. Our research results demonstrate that the modification of the simple and low-cost SR side chains is an effective strategy to improve the photovoltaic performance of the polymers.  相似文献

A series of heteroaryl substituted bithiophene azo dyes in solution were irradiated with visible light to promote the azo E-Z isomerization and then the kinetics of the thermal Z-E back reaction was studied. The speed of this process is strongly influenced by the nature of the aromatic ring linked to the NN function. While thiazole bithiophene azo dyes exhibit high switching speeds between the two isomers, but limited interconversion, for benzothiazole and substituted thiadiazole bithiophene azo dyes the switching between the two photoisomers can be performed in 3 s with a significant conversion of the trans-isomer to the thermal unstable cis-isomer (19-21%) and therefore a notable variation of the visible spectrum is observed.  相似文献
