Under a certain assumption, similar to Manin's conjecture, we prove an upper bound on the degree of modular parametrizations of elliptic curves by Drinfeld modular curves, which is the function field analogue of the conjectured bound over the rational numbers.

A series of five tetrablock quarterpolymers of styrene, isoprene, dimethylsiloxane, and 2-vinylpyridine with molecular weights varying from 117 × 103 to 177 × 103 and having different compositions were synthesized. The synthesis was based on recent advances in the controlled high-vacuum anionic polymerization of hexamethylcyclotrisiloxane and on the selective linking of poly(dimethylsiloxane)lithium with the chlorosilane group of the heterofunctional linking agent chloromethylphenylethylene dimethylchlorosilane. Combined characterization results by size exclusion chromatography, membrane osmometry, and NMR spectroscopy suggested that the synthesized multiblock multicomponent polymers had a high degree of structural and compositional homogeneity. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The isothermal crystallisation behaviour of the polyethylene block within polystyrene-b-polyethylene-b-poly(ε-caprolactone), SEC, triblock copolymers was studied by differential scanning calorimetry. The morphology was observed by transmission electron microscopy. Melting scans after isothermal crystallisation performed at different times were employed to determine the crystallisation kinetics one step at a time (“isothermal step crystallisation”). Double melting endotherms were observed after isothermal crystallisation and they were interpreted as a result of the melting of two lamellar populations. These arise from the intrinsic short chain branching distribution within the hydrogenated polybutadiene chains that conform the PE blocks and from their location within the copolymer microdomains. The Hoffman-Weeks procedure failed to yield reasonable values for the equilibrium melting point of the PE blocks as a result of the distribution of linear sequences present in these blocks. The results indicate that as the degree of PE confinement increases the Avrami index decreases to values that are even lower than 1, a result that can be explained by the nature of the homogeneous nucleation process that is in between sporadic and instantaneous.  相似文献

Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) polymers are used as precursors for carbon fiber production. This process requires an oxidative stabilization step, which can be studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). In this sense, thermal behavior of PAN based terpolymers by different polymerization processes, compositions and itaconic acid concentrations in the reaction media were investigated. The obtained results showed that the addition of itaconic acid and methyl acrylate as comonomers resulted a lower heat flow during the process comparing to the PAN homopolymer. It suggested that these comonomers aid the oxidative stabilization stage for all studied process. The redox system polymerization at 40°C resulted in a lower heat flow. Itaconic acid decreases slightly initial and peak temperatures of the terpolymer and heat flow until concentration of 3y. The cyclization temperature decreases when MAis incorporated into the terpolymer compared to the MMA terpolymer and increases when MAA is the acidic monomer. Among terpolymers the AN/MA/AA polymer showed the best thermal behavior for carbon fiber producing.  相似文献

We analyzed ABC transporter solute-binding proteins (SBPs) of the Bacillus subtilis membrane using a proteomic approach. We prepared a washed cell membrane fraction that was insoluble in 134 mM nondetergent sulfobetaine and then extracted proteins using mixtures of detergents in a stepwise manner. The membrane proteins were resolved by three two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (2-D PAGE) or two one-dimensional (1-D) PAGE procedures, electroblotted, and digested in the presence of 5% or 80% acetonitrile. Thereafter, matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-time of flight-mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) identified 637 proteins corresponding to 15.9% of the total cellular proteins. We predicted that among these, 256 were membrane proteins, 101 were lipoproteins or secretory proteins and 280 were soluble proteins containing peripheral proteins that function in both the cytoplasm and the cell membrane such as SecA and FtsY. Among the 637 proteins, we identified 30 SBPs among 38 importers predicted by a bioinformatic search of the genome. We confirmed expression of the genes for the 30 SBPs using DNA microarray analysis. We compared the 2-D gel separation profiles of submembrane fractions solubilized by 1% n-dodecyl-beta-D-maltoside from cells cultured on Luria Bertani (LB), S7, and S7 medium without glutamate as well as DNA microarray data on LB and S7. The results suggested that YcdH, YtmK and YurO are binding proteins for Mn(++), glutamate and glucose, respectively, and that YqiX and YxeM are binding proteins for amino acids (tryptophan in S7 medium).  相似文献

Asphalt is known to be a colloidal suspension in which asphaltenes are covered by a stabilizing phase of polar resins and form complex micelles that are dispersed in the oily maltenic phase. In order to enhance its mechanical properties (e.g., in road paving), asphalts are often loaded with polymeric materials, thereby obtaining blends that can have different physical or chemical structures, depending on the composition of the added polymer. Asphalts modified by the addition of reactive ethylene terpolymers were prepared and their dielectric and rheological properties were measured both before and after a cure at high temperature. Even if it is not possible to determine the exact nature of the chemical interactions between asphalt and polymer, master curves obtained from dynamic data clearly show that during the cure the material tends to the behavior of a cross-linked network.  相似文献

New random ternary copolymers containing fragments of pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole-1,4-dione, 2,3-bis[6-fluoro-9-(2-octyl- dodecyl)-9H-carbazol-3-yl]-3,3′-[5,7-di(thiophen-2-yl)- thieno[3,4-b]pyrazine as electron-withdrawing fragments and benzodithiophene as an electron-donor block have been synthesized. The best power conversion efficiency of 9.18% was achieved for the terpolymer with pyrrolopyrroledione/ thienopyrazine ratio of 1:3. The introduction of the third thieno[3,4-b]pyrazine acceptor block into the structure of the ‘parent’ binary polymer can significantly adjust energy levels and the light absorption range of irregular copolymers, and can enhance photovoltaic properties due to improved absorption capacity and charge transfer.  相似文献

Terpolymers based on propylene with 1‐pentene and 1‐hexene as comonomeric units are satisfactorily synthesized using a metallocene catalyst. Thus, several terpolymers are prepared with distinct overall compositions in comonomers as well as three different 1‐pentene/1‐hexene ratios at a given composition to evaluate the influence on polymerization activity, intrinsic viscosity, and microstructural details. The new trigonal δ polymorph is observed in those quenched terpolymers with a global content in comonomers of about 14 mol %, independently of the ratio between both comonomers.
