Nanocomposite hydrogel consisting of Na‐montmorillonite with enhanced mechanical properties

A new kind of nanocomposite (NC) hydrogel with Na‐montmorillonite (MMT) is presented in this article. The NC hydrogels were synthesized by free radical copolymerization of acrylamide and (3‐acrylamidopropyl) trimethylammonium chloride (ATC) in the presence of MMT and N,N′‐methylene‐bis‐acrylamide used as chemical cross‐linker. Due to the cation‐exchange reaction between MMT and ATC (cationic monomer) during the synthesis of NC hydrogels, MMT platelets were considered chemical “plane” cross‐linkers, different from “point” cross‐linkers. With increasing amount of MMT, the crosslinking degree enhanced, causing a decrease of the swelling degree at equilibrium. Investigations of mechanical properties indicated that NC hydrogels exhibited enhanced strength and toughness, which resulted from chemical interaction between exfoliated MMT platelets and polymer chains in hydrogels. Dynamic shear measurements showed that both storage modulus and loss modulus increased with increasing MMT content. The idea described here provided a new route to prepare hydrogels with high mechanical properties by using alternative natural Na‐MMT. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Sci., Part B: Polym. TBOR-shaped electro-optic modulator with dual output based on double-layer graphene

We proposed an electro-optic modulator with two-bus one-ring (TBOR) structure to improve the extinction ratio and reduce insert loss. It has a dual output compared with one-bus one-ring structure. In addition, double-layer graphene makes it possible for the modulation in the visible to mid-infrared wavelength range. It shows that this new electro-optic modulator can present two switching states well with low insertion loss, high absorption and high extinction ratio. At $\lambda =1550\text{ nm}$, when the switching states are based on the chemical potential, ${\mu }_{\mathrm{c}}=0.38\text{ eV}$ and ${\mu }_{\mathrm{c}}=0.4\text{ eV}$, the insertion losses of both output ports are less than 2 dB, the absorption of the output port coupled via a micro-ring reaches 45 dB and the extinction ratio reaches 14 dB. When the refractive index of the dielectric material is 4.2, the applied voltage will be less than 1.2 V, thus can be used in low-voltage CMOS technology.

传染病医院污水处理工艺选择案例

文章通过对临汾市传染病医院拟建的传染病区污水的来源、排放量、污染物的分析,结合污水处理原则,提出了具体的污水处理工艺。并根据污染物去除率预测了污染物浓度,与污染物排放标准进行对比分析,结果表明所选工艺处理后的污染物浓度能够达标,污水处理工艺是可行的。     

视觉文化及其教育价值反思

在语言文字文化之后出现的现代视觉文化以其突出的媒介特性对整个文化的特性产生了深刻的影响，文字文本的传统优势地位受到影像文本的挤占，这一变化促进了教育的向前发展，也对教育产生了许多负面影响。解决这一两难问题的策略就是使视觉文化与传统语言文字文化有相结合，各取所长，共同推动教育的繁荣和发展，而且只有当我们的教育工作者、学生以及社会各界对视觉文化有正确的认识，才能令视觉文化朝正确的方向发展，推进教育的进步，而不是等它给我们的教育带来严重恶果时才来思考是谁惹的祸。     

Skew-Hermitian Triangular Splitting Iteration Methods for Non-Hermitian Positive Definite Linear Systems of Strong Skew-Hermitian Parts

By further generalizing the skew-symmetric triangular splitting iteration method studied by Krukier, Chikina and Belokon (Applied Numerical Mathematics, 41 (2002), pp. 89–105), in this paper, we present a new iteration scheme, called the modified skew-Hermitian triangular splitting iteration method, for solving the strongly non-Hermitian systems of linear equations with positive definite coefficient matrices. We discuss the convergence property and the optimal parameters of this new method in depth. Moreover, when it is applied to precondition the Krylov subspace methods like GMRES, the preconditioning property of the modified skew-Hermitian triangular splitting iteration is analyzed in detail. Numerical results show that, as both solver and preconditioner, the modified skew-Hermitian triangular splitting iteration method is very effective for solving large sparse positive definite systems of linear equations of strong skew-Hermitian parts.     

Preparation and structural stability investigation of CoN/CN soft X-ray multilayers

The structural stability of heat-treated CoN/CN soft X-ray multilayers fabricated by dual-facing-target sputtering has been investigated by using complementary measurement techniques. The high temperature annealing results imply that the destructive threshold of the Co/C multilayers is improved by 100–200 degrees centigrade through doping with N. The low-angle X-ray diffraction of CoN/CN soft X-ray multilayers indicates that the period expansion of the multilayers is only 4 % at 400°C, and the interface pattern still exists even if they were annealed at 700°C. The Raman spectra analyses give the evidence that the formation of the sp³ bonding in the CN sublayers can be suppressed effectively by doping N with atoms, and thus the period expansion resulting from the changes in the density of CN layers can be decreased considerably. The X-ray photoelectron spectra analyses present the information of the existence of the strong covalent bonding betweenC andN atoms, and the ionic bonding between Co and N atoms, which can slow down the tendency of the structural relaxation. The interstitial N atoms decrease the mobility of Co atoms, and thus the fcc-Co and hcp-Co coexist even though the annealing temperature is much higher than the phase transformation temperature of 420°C, leading to the suppression of the grain growth.
