Cinnamon bark (Rou Gui in Chinese), cinnamon twig (Gui Zhi) and shaved cinnamon bark (Gui Sin) have been widely used as spices and in traditional Chinese medicine since ancient times. On‐going issues related to quality and authenticity necessitate the development of analytical methods capable of providing an objective evaluation of samples. In this study, chemical fingerprints of cinnamon bark, cinnamon twigs and shaved cinnamon bark were established using liquid chromatography quadruple time‐of‐flight mass spectrometry in conjunction with principal component analysis (PCA). From 125 samples of cinnamon, we identified the following eight compounds and their the detection ratios: coumarin, cinnamaldehyde, cinnamyl alcohol, cinnamic acid, 2‐hydroxycinnamaldehyde, 2‐hydroxycinnamic acid, 2‐methoxycinnamaldehyde and 4‐methoxycinnamaldehyde. Of these, 4‐methoxycinnamaldehyde presented the largest variations in detection ratio, making up 64.0, 97.4 and 50.0% in cinnamon bark, cinnamon twig, and shaved cinnamon bark, respectively. The quantities of cinnamyl alcohol, coumarin and cinnamaldehyde also varied between the three parts of the plant. Chemical fingerprints of the three cinnamon samples were established using principal component analysis, the results of which indicate that cinnamon bark and shaved cinnamon bark could be easily differentiated, despite a marked similarity in outward appearance. Cinnamon twig was also shown to depart from the other clusters. The proposed method provides a fast and efficient means of identifying cinnamon herbs for quality control purposes. The motion of the probe tip in a near-field scanning optical microscope, dithered by vibration of a tuning fork, can modulate the reflection signal from the sample surface not only at the fundamental dithering frequency but also at its second harmonic. By lock-in amplification of these modulated signals, enhanced optical images are obtained, even with an uncoated fiber probe. In particular, accurate optical images with higher resolution are obtained when the second-harmonic signal is detected, which results from the parametric modulation of the tip-sample separation at the double frequency of the horizontal dithering motion of the tip. Using a DVD ROM with a track pitch of 0.74 mum as a test sample, we observed that the sharp edges around the pits are clearly resolved with the second-harmonic signals and obtained enhanced resolution of ~70 nm full width at half-maximum.  相似文献

We derive the rigorous analytic solutions for the susceptibility of Doppler-broadened two-level atoms, valid for arbitrary laser intensities. As is usually the case with real atoms, we observe that, when the homogeneous linewidth is much narrower than the Doppler width, the real part of the susceptibility is given by the product of an imaginary error function and a Gaussian, whereas the imaginary part consists simply of a Gaussian function. By employing the analytic results, in particular, we study the effects of optical pumping and saturation on the atomic susceptibility. We also find that the real (imaginary) part of the susceptibility is weakly (strongly) dependent on such parameters as the laser intensity or the optical pumping rate. The availability of analytic solutions for the simple laser-atom interaction may provide convenient tools for its understanding as well as application to more general and realistic situations.  相似文献

This work presents a study of Mandarin speech focusing on consistency analysis of the spectrum and prosody within syllables. Identified as a result of inspection of the human pronunciation process, this consistency can be interpreted as a high correlation between the warping curves of the spectrum and the prosody intra a syllable. The consistency analysis consisted of three steps. First, the hidden Markov model algorithm was used to decode the hidden Markov model‐state sequences within a syllable, while at the same time dividing them into three segments. Second, based on a designated syllable, the vector quantization (VQ) with the Linde–Buzo–Gray algorithm was employed to train the VQ codebooks of the prosodic vector of each segment. Third, the prosodic vector of each segment was encoded as an index using the VQ codebooks, and then, to analyze the consistency, the probability of each possible path was evaluated as a prerequisite. Finally, two syllables were used as examples to verify the consistency property found in the experiments. It is demonstrated experimentally that there is definitely consistency in the case where the syllable is located in exactly the same word. These results offer a research direction in that the warping process between the spectrum and the prosody intra a syllable must be considered in text‐to‐speech systems to improve the synthesized speech quality. The phase‐transfer catalyzed graft copolymerization of methyl methacrylate onto polychloroprene was carried out using tricaprylylmethylammonium chloride as a phase‐transfer catalyst in a two‐phase system of an aqueous Na2S2O8 solution and toluene at 55 °C under a nitrogen atmosphere. The initial rate of graft copolymerization was expressed as the combined terms of quaternary onium cation and peroxydisulfate anion in the aqueous phase rather than the fed concentrations of catalyst and Na2S2O8. The observed initial rate of graft copolymerization was used to analyze the graft copolymerization mechanism with a cycle phase‐transfer initiation step in the heterogeneous liquid–liquid system. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Cobalt(II) meso-tetraphenylporphyrin (CoTPP)/acrylate hybrid thin films were prepared by CoTPP sublimation and reactive monomer evaporation onto the glass substrate in vacuum conditions. Deposited CoTPP/acrylate thin films were in situ photopolymerized. The oxygen-uptake behaviors of CoTPP/acrylate films were investigated by means of sorption measurements, monitored by gravimetric means, and analyzed using dual mode sorption model. The loading percent of CoTPP in the film was adjusted up to 60% by controlling the CoTPP sublimation rate. The thickness of the CoTPP/acrylate hybrid film was about 200 nm and oxygen-uptake data obtained from the sorption measurements indicated that CoTPP molecules in the CoTPP/acrylate hybrid films were able to bind oxygen molecules reversibly.  相似文献

A novel high-resolution confocal measurement of nanometric displacement that uses a simple 2 x 1 optical fiber coupler is presented. The basic principle is to detect interferometrically the change in the phase difference between two adjacent input fibers of the coupler that results from the nonuniform wave-front curvature of the reflected light. Measurement of subnanometer axial modulation, which permits high-resolution displacement sensing by optical means, is demonstrated.  相似文献

Size‐complementary cyclotriveratrylene (CTV)‐based hosts can incarcerate C76, C78, and C84, thus allowing the selective isolation of these higher‐order fullerenes from a commercially available mixture of fullerenes. The hemicarceplexes, formed after the encapsulation of the size‐complementary fullerenes within the hosts, are isolated by column chromatography and released at elevated temperature, thereby leading to the isolation of C76/C78 and C84 in good purities (up to 95 and 88 %, respectively).  相似文献

Cyanopeptolin CB071 (1), a trypsin inhibitor, was isolated from the freshwater cyanobacterium Aphanocapsa sp. Its complete structure was determined by detailed NMR spectroscopy and MS analyses, along with chemical reactions. The compound showed inhibition of trypsin at a concentration of IC50=2.5 microM.  相似文献
