The study of the angular distribution of slow particles during high energy hadron-nucleus interaction indicates that emission of slow particles takes place from a thermally non-equilibrated system. This evidence has come out from the presence of intermittency - a phenomenon that reveals a fractal structure and represents a self-similarity in the particle production process. Hence, this study highlights inadequacy of cascade-evaporation model and advocates the need of its refinement.  相似文献

The embedded atom method (EAM) was used to determine the equilibrium shapes of small platinum and palladium clusters (N=5–60 atoms). The stability of various polyhedral symmetries was performed at 0K. A search for the presence of any other lower energy structures was also carried out. Pt clusters reconstructed to lower energy clusters even at the magic numbers. Pd also reconstructed to lower energy structures except at the magic number sizes where the icosahedron was found to be the most stable.  相似文献

The non-commutative (NC) CP(1) model is studied from field theory perspective. Our formalism and definition of the NC CP(1) model differs crucially from the existing one [Phys. Lett. B 498 (2001) 277, hep-th/0203125, hep-th/0303090].

Due to the U(1) gauge invariance, the Seiberg–Witten map is used to convert the NC action to an action in terms of ordinary spacetime degrees of freedom and the subsequent theory is studied. The NC effects appear as (NC parameter) θ-dependent interaction terms. The expressions for static energy, obtained from both the symmetric and canonical forms of the energy momentum tensor, are identical, when only spatial noncommutativity is present. Bogomolny analysis reveals a lower bound in the energy in an unambiguous way, suggesting the presence of a new soliton. However, the BPS equations saturating the bound are not compatible to the full variational equation of motion. This indicates that the definitions of the energy momentum tensor for this particular NC theory (the NC theory is otherwise consistent and well defined), are inadequate, thus leading to the “energy crisis”.

A collective coordinate analysis corroborates the above observations. It also shows that the above mentioned mismatch between the BPS equations and the variational equation of motion is small.  相似文献

The first examples of anthracene capped chiral dendrimers derived from a 1,3,5-trisubstituted aromatic core and carbohydrate units in the interior and periphery are described. Excimer formation was evident from the fluorescence spectrum, and both fluorescence and chiroptical properties indicated that the dendrimer does not undergo aggregation in the ground state.  相似文献

The effect of various organic solvents on the absorption characteristics of vanadium was studied in fuel-rich oxy-acetylene and nitrous oxide-acetylene flames. The absorption of the 3183.9 Å line of vanadium was greatly enhanced by the use of various mixed organic solvents when fed to oxy-acetylene flames. In the case of the nitrous oxide-acetylene flame, the addition of diethylene glycol (about 8% in the final solution) and similar compounds to the aqueous solution of vanadium increased the absorption by about 50%. The observations and the possible role of the mixed organic solvents are discussed.  相似文献

A simple, sensitive and specific method for the determination of ozone in the atmosphere is described. Reactions of ozone with several 1-alkenes were studied at room temperature (25°). Eugenol(4-allyl-2-methoxyphenol), when reacted with ozone, was found to produce relatively large amounts of formaldehyde compared to other 1-alkenes tested. The method described was compared with alkaline iodide method for the determination of various concentrations of ozone in the range 0.05–2.0 p.p.m. Hydrogen peroxide, peracetic acid, sulfur dioxide and various reducing agents commonly present in the air, do not interfere. Formaldehyde when present in the air, must be determined simultaneously and the concentration of formaldehyde subtracted from that of the ozone. Any formaldehyde monitoring equipment can be easily adapted for the determination of ozone.  相似文献
