We report on the experimental observation of soliton pulses in an
erbium doped fibre ring laser. The passive mode-locking is achieved
using the nonlinear polarization rotation technique. By adjusting the
pump power and the intracavity polarization controllers, a normal
soliton, a stable 8th harmonic mode-locked pulse and a noise-like
pulse have been observed in our laser. The experimental results
revealed that the noise-like pulse is not suitable for the optical
telecommunication, and in order to obtain the stable harmonic
mode-locked soliton, a strong unstable CW laser field is necessary to
mediate global soliton interaction. The formation mechanism of the
harmonic mode-locked pulse has also been analysed. 相似文献

The magnetic reversal mechanism has been determined within a micromagnetic model reliably for a two-phased magnetic nanosystem,with the formulae for nucleation fields derived analytically.It is found that the nucleation field HN decreases uniformly as the size of the soft phase Ls increases whereas it increases with the size of the hard phase Lh.The analysis shows that whilst the effect of Lh could be ignored in most cases,where the nucleation field is dominated by the Ls and the calculation could be signif... 相似文献

<正>Second harmonic generation(SHG) results from molecules which are polarized by an external electric field often provided by an intense laser beam.The polarizability depends on firstly the intrinsic structural properties of the substance and hence the second-order nonlinear susceptibility,and secondly the intensity and polarization direction of the incident light.The polarization characteristics of the beam are therefore of interest.In this letter,we discuss some considerations in SHG microscopy of collagen when the incoming beam is circularly polarized,and present some supporting results as well as a numerical analysis.We propose a quasi-crystal model of collagen microstructure in an effort to further our understanding on this protein. 相似文献
