The time-resolved Stokes shift of fluorescence of styryl dye, trans-4-[4-(dimethylamino)-styryl]-1-methylpyridinium iodide (DASPI), and its host-guest complexes with cucurbit[6]uril (CB[6]) was studied by up-conversion technique on a 5 ps time scale. In all cases, the solvation time correlation function – that describes relaxation of the fluorescent state - contains two components. The time constant of the first component, which is related to the vibrational relaxation of the dye cation, increases from 118 fs without CB[6] to 224 fs in the presence CB[6]. It suggests the production of CB[6] complexes to disturb the hydrogen-bond net in the vicinity of DASPI cation. The time constant of the second component, which is associated with solvation, changes from 0.81 ps without CB[6] to 1.15 ps in the presence of the cavitand. The observed increase can be related to the displacement of the dye cation deeper into CB[6] that allows considering DASPI-CB[6] complexes as a light-controlled molecular machine with a response time on the picosecond scale. 相似文献

The effect of the formation of spatial gap solitons within one-dimensional optically induced photo-refractive photonic lattices in iron-doped lithium niobate is experimentally investigated. We experimentally investigate the interaction of counterpropagating discrete solitons in a one-dimensional waveguide array in photorefractive lithium niobate. While for low input powers only weak interaction and formation of counterpropagating vector solitons are observed, for higher input powers a growing instability results in discrete lateral shifting of the formed discrete solitons. Numerical modeling shows the existence of three different regimes: stable propagation of vector solitons at low power, instability for intermediate power levels leading to discrete shifting of the two discrete solitons, and an irregular temporal dynamic behavior of the two beams for high input power. 相似文献

Modulation instability and pattern formation by spatially incoherent light is investigated experimentally in a nonlinear ring cavity using a photorefractive strontium barium niobate crystal as the nonlinear medium. A step-like threshold for the onset of pattern formation is observed experimentally for the case of high optical feedback. When compared to the case without feedback, this threshold is shifted towards smaller nonlinearities and a significant increase of the modulation degree of the obtained patterns is obtained. Our measurements also show that, above threshold, the dominating spatial frequency of the patterns decreases monotonically with both increasing nonlinearity and increasing feedback. The results of a theoretical analysis of the photorefractive response in crystals with shallow traps to in a sign-alternating,

of the external field and the period of the photorefractive grating. The parameters characterizing deep donor and shallow
trap centers are estimated on the basis of investigations of two-beam interaction in a Bi12SiO20:Cd crystal with the application of a sign-alternating, square-wave electric field.
