The time delay experiment proposed by I.I. Shapiro in 1964 and conducted in the seventies was the most precise experiment
of general relativity until that time. Further experimentation has improved the accuracy level of both the time delay and
the light deflection experiments. A simulation model is proposed that involves only a simple mass and time transformation
factor involving velocity of light. The light deflection and the time delay experiments are numerically simulated using this
model that does not use the general relativistic equations. The computed values presented in this paper compare well with

Polyimides having pendant hydroxy groups were prepared by addition of pyromellitimide with bisepoxides. Tertiary amines and quaternary ammonium halides were effective as a catalyst. The polyimides were soluble in dichloroacetic acid and had inherent viscosities in the range 0.16–0.19 dl/g. Thermogravimetric analysis showed that a rapid weight loss of the polymers occurred at about 400°C. The pendant hydroxy groups were easily acetylated by treating the polymers with a mixture of acetic anhydride and pyridine. The acetylated polyimides were soluble in dimethylformamide, dimethylacetamide, and dioxane and melted at 120–150°C. 相似文献

Using a newly developed laser-microwave-laser resonance method, we observed a pair of microwave transitions between hyperfine levels of the (n,L)=(37,35) state of antiprotonic helium. This experiment confirms the quadruplet hyperfine structure arising from the interaction of the antiproton orbital angular momentum, the electron spin and the antiproton spin as predicted by Bakalov and Korobov. The measured frequencies of nu(+)(HF)=12.895 96+/-0.000 34 GHz and nu(-)(HF)=12.924 67+/-0.000 29 GHz agree with recent theoretical calculations on a level of 6x10(-5). 相似文献

Initial distributions of metastable antiprotonic (4)He and (3)He atoms over principal (n) and angular momentum (l) quantum numbers have been deduced using laser spectroscopy experiments. Electron beams with the lowest, normalized transverse emittance recorded so far were produced and confirmed in single-bunch-mode operation of the Accelerator Test Facility at KEK. We established a tuning method of the damping ring which achieves a small vertical dispersion and small x-y orbit coupling. The vertical emittance was less than 1% of the horizontal emittance. At the zero-intensity limit, the vertical normalized emittance was less than 2.8 x 10(-8) rad m at beam energy 1.3 GeV. At high intensity, strong effects of intrabeam scattering were observed, which had been expected in view of the extremely high particle density due to the small transverse emittance. 相似文献

We have developed a new method, based on the ballistic transfer of preaccumulated plasmas, to obtain large and dense positron plasmas in a cryogenic environment. The method involves transferring plasmas emanating from a region with a low magnetic field (0.14 T) and relatively high pressure (10(-9) mbar) into a 15 K Penning-Malmberg trap immersed in a 3 T magnetic field with a base pressure better than 10(-13) mbar. The achieved positron accumulation rate in the high field cryogenic trap is more than one and a half orders of magnitude higher than the previous most efficient UHV compatible scheme. Subsequent stacking resulted in a plasma containing more than 1.2 x 10(9) positrons, which is a factor 4 higher than previously reported. Using a rotating wall electric field, plasmas containing about 20 x 10(6) positrons were compressed to a density of 2.6 x 10(10) cm(-3).
