The formalism of the deep inelastic scattering is briefly outlined insisting on the evidence that the nucleon has point-like constituents. The physics behind the polarized structure is reviewed and their relation to the proton spin is discussed. After a short discussion of the formalism for electron scattering the information on the neutron charge form factor is extracted from the deuteron structure function. The cross sections for electrodisintegration of the deuteron at threshold and the behaviour of the trinucleon magnetic form factors are shown to provide evidence for the importance of meson exchange currents in nuclei. Cross sections for magnetic elastic electron scattering of high multipolarity from 51V and 59Co have been measured. They are interpreted in terms of the rms radius of the 1f72 proton orbit. The results for 51V and 59Co 1f72 rms radii are smaller by 3% and 9%, respectively, than predicted by the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory.  相似文献
