2‐Acetyl thiophenethiocynate (ATT) was synthesized and its characterization study was carried out using elemental analysis, IR and NMR techniques. The new reagent was proposed as an extractant for the development of the extractive spectrophotometric method for determination of Pt(IV) metal. The reagent complexes with the metal to produce a yellow colored complex which was then extracted into ethyl acetate at pH 11.2–11.6 having an absorption maxima at 400 nm. The thermal study showed that the extraction reactions are exothermic in nature with the reagent, and the stoichiometric ratio of Pt(IV) to 2‐acetyl thiophenethiocynate in the organic phase was 1:2. The method permits separation and determination of platinum from real and binary mixtures. The separation of Pt(IV) from bivalent metal ions has been also studied.  相似文献

Micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography (MECC) of proteins is a high resolution capillary electrophoretic (CE) analysis method that utilizes the hydrophobic and electrostatic interaction of protein analytes with surfactant micelles present in the buffer medium to facilitate separation. Through the manipulation of the protein-micelle interaction by the adjustment of variables such as surfactant concentration, solution pH, ionic strength, the presence of an organic modifier and the use of coated capillaries, MECC analyses of a wide variety of proteins have been optimized. MECC has been demonstrated to provide resolution of mixtures consisting of proteins with minor structural variations and also has provided the successful quantitative analysis of protein present in complex matrices. The adoption of protein MECC as a routine analytical technique may be dependent upon the successful interface of MECC with detection methodology, such as mass spectrometry, which can provide analyte characterization information.  相似文献

A multicomponent Fe-Cu based steel is studied using atom-probe tomography. The precipitates are identified using two different methodologies and subsequent morphological and compositional results are compared. The precipitates are first identified using a maximum separation distance algorithm, the envelope method, and then by a concentration threshold method, an isoconcentration surface. We discuss in detail the proper selection of the parameters needed to delineate precipitates utilizing both methods. The results of the two methods exhibit a difference of 44 identified precipitates, which can be attributed to differences in the basis of both methods and the sensitivity of our results to user-prescribed parameters. The morphology of the precipitates, characterized by four different precipitate radii and precipitate size distribution functions (PSDs), are compared and evaluated. A variation of less than approximately 8% is found between the different radii. Two types of concentration profiles are compared, giving qualitatively similar results. Both profiles show Cu-rich precipitates containing Fe with elevated concentrations of Ni, Al, and Mn near the heterophase interfaces. There are, however, quantitative disagreements due to differences in the basic foundations of the two analysis methods.  相似文献

The DNA binding characteristics of mixed ligand complexes of the type [Co(en)2(L)]Br3 where en = N,N′-ethylenediamine and L = 1,10-phenanthroline (phen), 2,2′-bipyridine (bpy), 1,10-phenanthroline-5,6-dione (phendione), dipyrido[3,2-a:2′,3′-c]phenazine (dppz) have been investigated by absorption titration, competitive binding fluorescence spectroscopy and viscosity measurements. The order of intercalative ability of the coordinated ligands is dppz > phen > phendione > bpy in this series of complexes.  相似文献

Three new types of siloxane‐based photoactive liquid crystalline polymers containing azo side groups were synthesized through the click chemistry route. The polymers having molecular weight range of 14,000–34,000 g mol?1 were soluble in most of the polar solvents like chloroform, tetrahydrofuran, dimethylformamide, dimethyl sulfoxide, and dichloromethane. The photoresponsive trans–cis photoisomerization under UV radiation and cis–trans relaxation process in dark for the polymers were studied. The isomerization rate constants were found to be 0.01–0.04 sec?1 and 1.16*10?4–4.67*10?4 sec?1, respectively. It has been noted that the polymers showed high intensity absorption for n‐π* in chloroform. Both trans and cis forms of azide monomers having azo moiety exhibited molar extinction coefficient ( ? max) in the range of 22,000–33,000 L mol?1 cm?1. The thermotropic behavior of the polymers was studied by polarizing optical microscope (POM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) experiments. Polymer P1 showed liquid crystalline textures of nematic droplets, whereas P2 showed smectic focal conic texture and nematic droplets. Polymer P1 was also studied for photomechanical bending on exposure to UV radiation. The polymers showed initial degradation temperature in the range of 210–275°C. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Four linear polymers containing pendant azo moiety were synthesized through click chemistry for second‐order nonlinear optical study. The polymers were found soluble in most of the polar organic solvents such as tetrahydrofuran (THF), chloroform, and dimethyl formamide (DMF). The polymers showed thermal stability up to 300 °C and glass transition temperatures (Tg) in the range of 120–140 °C. The molecular weights (Mw) of these polymers (measured by gel permeation chromatography) were in the range 37,900–55,000 g/mol. The polymers were found to form optically transparent films by solution casting from THF solution. Order parameters were calculated from UV–vis absorption spectra. The morphology changes in the films after poling were characterized by atomic force microscopy. The angular dependence, temperature dependence, and time dependence of second harmonic generation (SHG) intensity were obtained by using 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser. The SHG intensity remained unchanged up to 95 °C. At room temperature, it remained stable up to 8 days after initial drop of about 14%. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Mononuclear divalent complexes of Co, Ni, Cu and Zn derived from a benzofuran‐based novel hydrazone tridentate ligand were synthesized and characterized using various spectroscopic methods. Elemental analysis reveals that the metal‐to‐ligand ratio is 1:2 which is supported by mass spectrometry results. Conductivity measurements suggest that all the complexes are non‐electrolytic in nature. The ligand and complexes were evaluated for their antimicrobial potency. Bioassay of all hydrazone chelates shows enhanced activity as compared to that of the ligand. The complex with cobalt ion as the metal centre shows better activity against fungi than the standard. Also, ligand and complexes were screened for antituberculosis activity; some analogues (Ni, Cu, Zn) are eight times more active than the standard. Here, we report the synthesis of a truncated cone-shaped triangular porphyrinic macrocycle, P3L3 , via a single step imine condensation of a cis-diaminophenylporphyrin and a bent dialdehyde-based linker as building units. X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that the truncated cone-shaped P3L3 molecules are stacked on top of each other by ππ and CH⋯π interactions, to form 1.7 nm wide hollow columns in the solid state. The formation of the triangular macrocycle is corroborated by quantum chemical calculations. The permanent porosity of the P3L3 crystals is demonstrated by several gas sorption experiments and powder X-ray diffraction analysis.  相似文献
