Parity violation effects have been studied at 40 neutron p-wave resonances of the even-even nuclei238U and232Th. Of these 11 show parity violation effects larger than 2 standard deviations, making parity violation a rather common phenomenon. Parity mixing up to 10% has been found. The root-mean squared matrix elements for parity violation derived from these resonances are M=0.58 (+0.50/-0.25) meV for238U, respectively 1.39 (+0.35/-0.38) meV for232Th.  相似文献

We have studied the reactions \(({{\pi ^ + } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{\pi ^ + } p}} \right. \kern-0em} p})p \to ({{\pi ^ + } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{\pi ^ + } p}} \right. \kern-0em} p})(K\bar K\pi )p\) where the \(K\bar K\pi \) system is centrally produced, at 85 GeV/c and 300 GeV/c using the CERN Omega spectrometer. A spin-parity analysis of theK S 0 K ± π ? system shows the presence of a strongJ PC=1++ signal which we identify as theE/f 1 (1420) meson. We also find evidence for the decayE/f 1(1420)→K S 0 K S 0 π 0 which determines theC-parity of this state to be positive. Alternative explanations of the data have been tested and ruled out. Hence we obtain the quantum numbers of theE/f 1 (1420) to beI G(JPC)=0+(1+).  相似文献

Transition frequencies and intensities for exited states of atomic hydrogen in a strong magnetic field are calculated by Fourier transformation of dipole moments computed using classical trajectories. We consider states with n = 30 and Lz = 1 for fields of up to 7 T. Spectra for states labeled as librators and rotators are found to be qualitatively different, especially for the spectral component perpendicular to the field. In addition to the zero-field Kepler line, a new intra-manifold transition is located at low frequency. The frequencies and intensities are found to be sensitive functions of the field strength, and of the particular state of the Coulomb manifold involved.  相似文献

We present results for the hypercharge exchange reaction K?p→f' λ from a high statistics experiment at 8.25 GeV/c using the CERN 2m HBC. The total and differential cross sections have been measured; the polarisation of the Λ hyperon and the f' density matrix elements have been calculated as functions of momentum transfer. We also present detailed information on the relative strength of the natural and unnatural parity exchange contributions to the production mechanism.  相似文献

We have performed a search for vector-vector final states centrally produced in proton proton interactions at 300 GeV/c using the CERN Ω spectrometer. Evidence is found for ωρ0 production in the reactionppp f (2π+?0)p s and for ωω production in the reactionppp f (2π+?0)p s . The reactionppp f (ηπ+π?)p s where the ηπ+π? system is centrally produced has been studied at 300 GeV/c incident momentum at the CERN Ω spectrometer. The ηπ± mass spectrum shows a strong δ/a 0(980) signal having a mass of 984±4 and Γ=95±14 MeV. The ηπ+π? mass spectrum shows η′ andf 1(1285) signals over little background. A spin-parity analysis of the ηπ+π? system shows evidence for aJ PC =1++ peak at thef 1(1285) mass but no evidence for the pseudoscalar states η(1270) andl/η(1440). No evidence is found for the ηππ decay of theE/f 1(1420) meson for which we set an upper limit BR(E/f 1(1420)→ηππ)<0.1 at 95% cl.  相似文献
