Magnetic properties, electrical resistivity, specific heat and magnetic excitations have been investigated in Heusler phases CeInAg2–xCux. The hybridization continuously increases from CeInAg2 (antiferromagnetic Kondo lattice) to CeInCu2 (heavy fermion compound). The specific heat coefficient for this last compound is found to reach 1.2 J/mole. K2 at 1.4 K, the Kondo temperature is 6 K and the Wilson ratio is close to 2.  相似文献

This paper describes an experimental investigation of the flow past circular cylinders, with the mean flow perpendicular to the cylinder axis, at conditions that yield a strong three-dimensional behaviour. The experiments were carried out in the subcritical regime. Long cylinders with end plates were subjected to shear flow with a linear velocity profile in the spanwise direction generated by means of a curved gauze. It was concluded that spanwise cellular structures of vortex shedding emerged in the wake, more clearly for some boundary conditions than others. These structures are characterised by a portion of spanwise length, a cell, having constant shedding frequency over a time average, which implies that there were no vortex dislocations inside that cell during that time. These features were studied using flow visualisation and hot-film anemometry. Spectra of the local shedding frequency are shown, revealing the effect of the shear parameter (=0.02 and 0.04) and aspect ratio L/D (=20.6 and 8) on the stability and geometry of the cells at several Reynolds numbers in the range of 3.13×103Rem1.25×104.  相似文献

An x-ray method is described, by which the distribution curve of the lattice parameters and the lattice orientations from the same area of a single crystal can be determined. The distribution curves are independent of the divergence of the x-ray beam and the range of wavelengths used. Their angular width for an ideal single crystal is of the order of seconds or arc. X-ray absorption spectroscopy has been used to probe the Cu environment of the new highT c YBa2Cu3O7– superconductor. Evidences of other valencies than two are found for copper. Besides Cu1+ which is localized on Cu1 sites when the unit cell is oxygendeficient, one invokes a ground state which merges bivalent 3d 9 to 3d 9 L configurations as proposed in a recent paper (L stands for a ligand hole in the CuO bond) very similar to that observed in many light rare earth oxides.  相似文献

Magnetic circular dichroism magnetization measurements on a monolayer of single molecule magnets have been performed and the results are presented. At the measurement temperature (2 K) the hysteresis cycle shows no opening, contrary to what is seen in the bulk with SQUID magnetometry. This result could surprisingly imply that XMCD is unsuited for such measurements given the fact that it excites the core electrons at the origin of the magnetism. This result could also mean that the blocking temperature is greatly decreased or that these molecules loose their hallmark when deposited as adsorbed films, precluding therefore their much sought-after use in magnetic memories.  相似文献

In this paper, we report the results of molybdenum K-edge X-ray absorption studies performed on the oxidized and reduced active sites of the sulfite dehydrogenase from Starkeya novella. Our results provide the first direct structural information on the active site of the oxidized form of this enzyme and confirm the conclusions derived from protein crystallography that the molybdenum coordination is analogous to that of the sulfite oxidases. The molybdenum atom of the oxidized enzyme is bound by two Mo=O ligands at 1.73 A and three thiolate Mo-S ligands at 2.42 A, whereas the reduced enzyme has one oxo at 1.74 A, one long oxygen at 2.19 A (characteristic of Mo-OH2), and three Mo-S ligands at 2.40 A.  相似文献
